Essay time (padlo please - dusre video pe iss comment pe yudh chhidh gaya tha): This movie is the ultimate desi male fantasy movie. Shraddha's character is basically the trope known as 'cool girl' . She's a male fantasy version of what women should/can be: she eats 3 platefuls but is thin and gorgeous. She drinks, dances openly in the club, sleeps with the male lead without any commitments, but then she's also happy to be with him because he wants emotional fulfilment. She's someone with her own career and dreams and goals, but then she is happy to settle for a dude with limited ambitions even though she specifically mentioned she didn't want to marry someone like that. When she does get what she wants (when the engagement breaks) she's totally broken, drinking and passing out and has to be cared for by other people like Dabbas, his wife and later when she falls, by Mickey's family. Finally, he manages to break and domesticate her into marrying him and settling into his life. The movie made some great points, like when he says to her that she would have shared him with their kids so why not his family - I agree fully with that. I have been the Mickey in that kind of situation (ladka bhaag gaya jab main boli ki main tumhare parents ke saath rehna chahti hu, kyunki tum akele bete ho unke). But the movie never gave Tinny's emotions any value. "meri family waise nahin hain" bol diya aur saab sorted? The thing that broke Tinny was when Mickey's parents said to her naukri chhod dena. Even thought they never said it from a place of malice, it really hurt Tinny because her own mother, despite being a qualified accountant, never got a chance to build her career because of her dad's family. Even in the single scene just after Dabbas's wedding, her family basically were telling her to marry him. Only her mother asked her what she felt. She had deep-seated trauma because of what happened to her parents, and instead of being cheesy, the film could very easily have made more of an effort to show her changing her thoughts.

Yes! Also like there's a thing called compatibility. Tini and Micky (and his family) are not compatible at all. They have different priorities, behaviours, goals and values. Tini comes from a typical upper middle class family where women are expected to be highly educated and qualified but only as a decoration. Their working is not encouraged. That was what happened to her mother. Things like these leave generational scars. Her mom had to depend on her husband/family for financial resources despite having a prospective career. Such mothers instill values of financial and emotional independence in their daughters due to their trauma. Tini's personality is based on that. She is a corporate working woman with independence in terms of taking decisions for her life. You cannot expect such a person to suddenly be okay with multiple members of their partner's family interfering with her life. The family may have good intentions and she may even see that but that doesn't make it any easier. All she can see is the rest of her life making decisions according to all of them. Micky on the other hand has been raised in a highly interdependent close loud family. His income itself is generational business. Family interference and support has positive context for him in contrast to Tini. He doesn't understand her. Because he simply can't feel like her. And anyway the family shown was too nice and progressive and unrealistic. A bahu will be judged for the same thing their son does differently. Anyways it was an okay timepass movie but I was disappointed in the way they showed Tini's issues as trivial and "ghar-todu" despite of them being very real complex problems. In India it's said marriage is between two families not individuals. It is true.

I truly don't believe in manifestation but oh man how I wished for you to do this movie, the second I managed to finish it's excruciating runtime, in 2x speed, yet insufferable. Thank you and couldn't have said it better. The way they romanticize a claustrophobic family as loving and extremely toxic relationships as true bonds was hard to sit through. And I am not a fan of giving adult like personas to kids but man she is the only one I cared about in the whole movie and one song, which is bedardeya. And thank you for mentioning the very wierd visualisation of green flag in Bollywood, men shedding tears after literally ruining everything is not the sensitivity people were fighting for. I mean guess I can't complain, as the only opposite is knight in armour as the saviour. 🥴 I had so much fun watching this though😅 and thank you for that❤
The contrast between the acting of rocky aur rani and this movie is soooooooooooooooo good. The way there is too much drama and then there is stoic kind of acting 🤣
I love how you find similarities, that too of the same actor's previous movies 😂😂😂 This was an entertaining film & I felt that Ranbir & Shraddha had chemistry which could've been used in a better way ✌🏻 Great video Sushmita 🤗
It is like we had telepathy TQTS! I watched this movie on Netflix only a few days ago. I liked the concept and the second half. And you are absolutely right. The responsibility of the entire movie was carried by the little girl. However, how the censor board passed the scene of her drinking is very disturbing. Like I said I didn't hate the movie much nor did I dislike their 'breakup service' like most audiences. Dabas and Ranbir did not force someone to break up; rather, they devised creative ways to do it so that both parties could leave with minimum hurt. I wish they had shown more scenes of them doing so. Also, I did not think that this movie was misogynistic. I don't know why people say that. There is no real villain in this movie. It is just about two people loving each other deeply but having different expectations from life. The reason why Shraddha hired the service was because she did not want Mickey to choose between her and his family. That is a good enough reason for me. I think the end of the movie was done well too because they showed BOTH Shraddha and the family-accommodating each other instead of burdening Shraddha alone.
The conflict was resolved without any effort, and after saying she doesn’t want family involvement at the end, the family was still involved and hence she really didn’t get what she wanted

I know no one cares, this is just a rant After begging my parents for a week I watched this movie a month after my 12th board exams. I don't remember anyone giving negative reviews about this movie except Sucharita. I had sooo many expectations. I got to enjoy ONE day after two freaking years. I spent all of my money on booking those recliner seats and snacks and what not. And this was such a big disappointment. Rom com is dead fr. And shraddha looked high all the time. The dialogues are corny the whole thing runs on bloody monologues. The leads fall in love within two weeks. And then the whole "I wanna break up with you but I won't tell you why" was sooo immature considering she's an adult. 😐Ranbir's mom hitting him for no reason was not funny. The unnecessary cameos were a bunch of bullshit and made my inner self puke. Their families being overly enthusiastic makes me wanna support the female lead. Ranbir did everything Shraddha wanted him to do, he broke up, she was about to leave for London and then out of nowhere gives him a tight slap ???? For what ???? This was not okay . The male lead arriving at the airport to stop the woman is repetitive and cringey in itself , ye bhaisaab pura pariwaar le aaye . And jokes like " kyu hum aapke Hain kon" ?? Yeh comedy hai? The family manipulating her to be with them in front of hundreds of people was again not okay .In conclusion , This movie was not okay. My ola driver was also a mean guy. Not the worst day of my life but the it is one of those days when I was excited af, but everything turned out to be shitty 😁 Ahh, it's all done now, I wanted to rant so bad for a very long time, great video though 😄❤️hehe
The biggest issue I have with this movie is the way the whole set of characters were handled......we have a guy breaking up with his girlfriend because "bohot zyada pyaar karti hain"? We have Tinni who apparently only wants to break up because of his family's interference, and not because of the guy himself, and yet she chose to do it in the most hurtful, backhanded way....like did she even love him if THAT'S the method she chose, breaking up over text would've been less moronic And then we have Mickey mouse and his club house, because tell me how is it normal for a family to be that involved in his life, bhai Tinni JUST came into his life and they were literally all up and about their space....they couldn't even date alone, shaddi kebaad honeymoon pe bhi jane ka plan tha kya......And the most ridiculous part is that even after getting to know why Tinni broke up with their "raja beta", they decided to accompany him to the airport to....wait for it.....bring back Tinni......Bhai larki ko laal gulab nehi pasand toh usko manane ke liye uske liye laal gulab leke jaoge kya?????? And Tinni's main problem with living with family was literally unnecessary interference, and Idk what the writers tried to do but clearly they failed, because Mickey's family was doing exactly that, no matter how non-toxic and healthy they were, they interfered A LOT. Interference, even without judgement and just good intentions, is wrong Last meh jake kya huya, Tinni ko apne job offer ko chhod kar Mickey aur uske family ke sath hi rehena para na. Hone ke liye toh yeh bhi ho sakta tha ki she and Mickey move abroad for her job, because Mickey aise hi ambitious nehi tha, but end meh Tinni did EXACTLY what she didn't want in the beginning, no matter how much you sugar coat it, it doesn't change the fact that like every other woman in Tinni's life (the very ones jinko dekh ke usse family ke sath nehi rehena tha), she too had to pick between her job and Mickey This movie did a horrible job at whatever msg it tried to give
Newton's second law Bollywood version - Cringe tab tak chalta rahega jabtak uss time period ka top singer in this case Arijit singh koi sad/depressing gana nahi ga deta.
idk i enjoyed the movie if we remove the cringy dialogues or the ending , the comedy of family was good enough it wasn't that bad how you showed in the video. I believe you just all gave negative reviews just to prove your own point and you should atleadt go through some positive reviews too what was actually good in this movie. whatever genz problem gonna critisze out every inch of things they don't like . (That's a different thing i watched this movie because of shradhha kapoor only) 🙄🙄🤭😬
The color of the film also feels so weird I haven't even watched the movie but Shraddha and Ranbir's face makeup is also like weird and not suiting them. It's very unflattering to watch.

Jo bhi bolo, Ranbir's acting in the scene after Nusrat left (heera ladka hai) and Shadhda was breaking down in front of the lift. Bande ke aakhen dekho. Muskan ke piche ke dard jo aakhon se display kiya bohot hi mast tha.
@@TheQuarterTicketShow the way me and my bestfriend hate-watch this movie (hum woh airport wale scene ko bich mein band kar dete hain toh tinni chali gayi London aur yeh chipku family airport mein channa mereya karti rahi in our minds) but every time, that scene comes, we have to mention his acting. Banda actor badiya hain, bas har din cancel hota rehta hain
This movie was insufferable. I could not stand it more than 20 mins while cringing the whole time. The songs I had already seen on UA-cam and the acting was suffocating. Truthfully the little girl was the best part of what I saw. Really crappy movie.
Dabbas ka character mujhe bohot hi bakwas laga. Bichari Kinchi - kis hutiye se shaadi kara diya. There was no chemistry or love between them. Bas ek scene mujhe achcha laga: jab Mickey samajh gaya ki usi ka breakup ho raha hain "mujhe uddesh nahin dikh raha teri life ka" woh scene achcha tha, otherwise such a waste
0:46 why? It's a mindless, lighthearted stuart binny of a rom-com. 2:36 wo uska first name hai? 4:11 wo ladki nahi, inayat hai rab ki luv ke liye! @@TheQuarterTicketShow Just corrected my lines. Yeah after Shehzada and Selfiee disaster, people really wanted to go out as there was no other movie for the whole month. I couldn't tolerate these movies even on OTT. I think Rocky and Rani is also in the same category and I appreciate how you compare both of them. Cringe ki dukaan thi dono movie.. Next I am expecting Satyaprem Ki Katha. I know they selected a very good topic but the way they handled that subject .. made me dislike that movie.. curious about your opinion..
Are you kidding me? This was a superflop. Of course 200crore is a lot but it's budget is 200 crore. When we factor in promotional budget the it will be even bigger. And a rom-com movie, no matter how big budget won't get a big pre-release business and post release business. The studio loose a lot of money.
I felt this movie as too woke and too regressive at the same time, the woke parts were too woke and the regressive parts were too regressive. But still better than Rocky and Rani imo. And as a CA final student, I cringed every time CA was mentioned, and no, CAs khane ka bill nhi collect krte loss book krne k liye.
I love your videos but then I felt Rocky aur Rani was actually a good movie. In the sense, if you want a movie to reach to the masses and not make it a social drama you have to pack is well the way Karan Johar did. I mean with songs, fancy shots, and of course being preachy. Coz well let’s agree a Johar movie Target audience is very different from a Meghna Gulzar’s. Rocky was actually a green flag who actually changes by the end of the movie. He admits his mistakes agrees to change and etc. whereas this movie was an absolute havoc. Like gaslighting a woman into believing that she should get married and be with the family is just well. Idk !! When she of course she definitely does not want to. Rani on the other hand was a strong, independent woman and her family was definitely something that felt like a fresh air. Again saying all this in context of how both the movies were catered to mass audience.
I'm not trying to be that guy, but in Rocky Aur RKPK the good family was the girl's. Here the good family was the boy's. Do you have a bias towards girl's family. Again don't hate me just asking. Because Ranbir's family in this was equally good as Alia's family in RARKPK.
The first half of the movie is like watching attractive peoples instagram page bas. And second half ka toh sab pata h. At least Ranbir Kapoor did whatever bs was written sincerely, Shradha was a talking rock in the film. Acting toh dur ki baat unne blink bhi nai kiya h. Waise kar bhi leti toh kya...characters hi itne poorly thought of hai. She is a modern opinionated strong woman but ek choti si baat apne partner ke saath ek baar bhi discuss nai kar pai like do you seriously want us to believe this could be an issue. Micky ki family is 'modern' coz uk they like chote kapde, 100% open baatein etc but 'modern' family doesn't have sense of giving space and understanding the matter of choice. Ab you would think ki 2 ghante mai kuch character growth toh hua hi hoga, they will mature apologise and come to a common ground. Well they fight like toddlers (the iconic unemotional i love you + slap) and do they buy an apartment close to their parents so they could balance personal life, career and family roles and respect shradhas characters opinion...NOPE...all of a sudden not only is the girl okay with moving in with the in laws she is an adopted 8 year old. Ig they wanted to show caring saas but i swear itni annoying character like pls (tiffin nai khaya bs) AB she doesn't care about her seriousness in life and all. Also while we are on that topic shradha k career k naam pe hame sirf ek macbook dikhaya h. tldr- har scene mai flaw hai. modern lifestyle dikhana chahte the but subliminally regressive hi h. and comedy....i mean i watched with an open mind but samjha nai hasna kab h.
Why never understand why main character of any film or herione is always Punjabi. It's so cringe. . they changed everything but the names are same . Vijay , rahul , raj malhotra . Singhania , prem , priya, why there cannot be hero . Vaibhav deshpande OR aditya more , 😊. 😮

I mean guess I can't complain, as the only opposite is knight in armour as the saviour. 🥴 I had so much fun watching this though😅 and thank you for that❤
So glad you liked it!
The Banrney Stinson and Lily Aldrin mentions were damn accurate..
The contrast between the acting of rocky aur rani and this movie is soooooooooooooooo good. The way there is too much drama and then there is stoic kind of acting 🤣

I do like some parts of the film. The emotions are very well done.
upar mera essaywala comment padlo - I am not sure its fully misogyny but it's definitely a male fantasy story
Arey wo bachchi appy fizz pee rehi thi. You would notice the bottle agar dhyan se dekho to.
The conflict was resolved without any effort, and after saying she doesn’t want family involvement at the end, the family was still involved and hence she really didn’t get what she wanted

I know no one cares, this is just a rant
After begging my parents for a week I watched this movie a month after my 12th board exams.
Not the worst day of my life but the it is one of those days when I was excited af, but everything turned out to be shitty 😁
Ahh, it's all done now, I wanted to rant so bad for a very long time, great video though 😄❤️hehe
Diiii... I am obsessed with your videos.. I love your voice and jokes🤣🤣🤣
Thank you so much 😀
Your sense of humour is another level
Unhinged. I know
The biggest issue I have with this movie is the way the whole set of characters were handled......we have a guy breaking up with his girlfriend because "bohot zyada pyaar karti hain"?
We have Tinni who apparently only wants to break up because of his family's interference, and not because of the guy himself, and yet she chose to do it in the most hurtful, backhanded way....like did she even love him if THAT'S the method she chose, breaking up over text would've been less moronic
And then we have Mickey mouse and his club house, because tell me how is it normal for a family to be that involved in his life, bhai Tinni JUST came into his life and they were literally all up and about their space....they couldn't even date alone, shaddi kebaad honeymoon pe bhi jane ka plan tha kya......And the most ridiculous part is that even after getting to know why Tinni broke up with their "raja beta", they decided to accompany him to the airport to....wait for it.....bring back Tinni......Bhai larki ko laal gulab nehi pasand toh usko manane ke liye uske liye laal gulab leke jaoge kya??????
And Tinni's main problem with living with family was literally unnecessary interference, and Idk what the writers tried to do but clearly they failed, because Mickey's family was doing exactly that, no matter how non-toxic and healthy they were, they interfered A LOT.
Interference, even without judgement and just good intentions, is wrong
Last meh jake kya huya, Tinni ko apne job offer ko chhod kar Mickey aur uske family ke sath hi rehena para na.
Hone ke liye toh yeh bhi ho sakta tha ki she and Mickey move abroad for her job, because Mickey aise hi ambitious nehi tha, but end meh Tinni did EXACTLY what she didn't want in the beginning, no matter how much you sugar coat it, it doesn't change the fact that like every other woman in Tinni's life (the very ones jinko dekh ke usse family ke sath nehi rehena tha), she too had to pick between her job and Mickey
This movie did a horrible job at whatever msg it tried to give

Jo bhi bolo, Ranbir's acting in the scene after Nusrat left (heera ladka hai) and Shadhda was breaking down in front of the lift. Bande ke aakhen dekho. Muskan ke piche ke dard jo aakhon se display kiya bohot hi mast tha.

Dabbas ka character mujhe bohot hi bakwas laga. Bichari Kinchi - kis hutiye se shaadi kara diya. There was no chemistry or love between them. Bas ek scene mujhe achcha laga: jab Mickey samajh gaya ki usi ka breakup ho raha hain "mujhe uddesh nahin dikh raha teri life ka" woh scene achcha tha, otherwise such a waste

There was literally nothing this movie competed with. it was like scoring a goal without any opponent defence

@@rahultiwari-dx8qo no. The budget of Tu Jhoothi Main Makkar is 200 crore.
I felt this movie as too woke and too regressive at the same time, the woke parts were too woke and the regressive parts were too regressive. But still better than Rocky and Rani imo.

This is very astutely put. I would say you pointed out the contrast between these two films impeccably. Appreciated ❤
True
