1.7 beta has BSL support. It is already available from Gweike.
Purchased one, Looked used when it arrived, I too could not connect to wifi, The USB sent with it, had the incorrect Config. Information. The Fixed cable from power supply to laser head had a short or bad connection causing the laser head to sometimes not turn on with the power supply. The only thing I asked for was a replacement be sent with an RA number so I would not have down time. Answer was no, So I ordered a different brand while dealing with the return. Not yet a company I want to deal with.
Engraving and marking are two different things. They are not interchangeable. If it is engraving, they would disclose the depth the laser would cut into (steel, aluminum, etc) the material with single pass or each pass. While the wavelength disclosure may be helpful (1064 nm for metals) it still needs to be well presented enough to help a customer like me make informed decision. I need a laser that can engrave a stainless steel to a depth of about 15um to 38um, if possible on a single pass or second pass.
What kind of laser machine can engrave a depth of atleast 3mm on metal?
@@madtin 3mm is quite deep...
@@jupitereye4322 What about 2mm?
That's the problem with these, well, I won't call them fly by night laser company's. Like it or not their internals are all stuff off the shelf (the laser diode for instance in this model). You just have to slap on a heat sink and get a gimble. They just don't give you hard numbers of data or if they do you have to hunt for the spec sheets somewhere. I also have issues with buying any kind of device that requires internet without a seral (or even printer) port for input.
I watched the whole video and found the moment you engraved your build plate .
My old manufacturer would cut and engrave small freeform metal blanks for pendants. Would that have been something like a fibre laser and also a some kind of router? Would this unit or the pro work?
I’ve been told the commarker b4 60w or higher could work , just any fiber laser with high wattage
0.02mm - 60mm/sec - 30-50% - vary freq and power - 265mm focus
Would this fine enough and powerful enough to engrave watch dials?
sir, do you have any instruction how to use the software ? the manual came with machine way less info
Hey There,
I have the same Laser, but whatever I try to Color Engrave, it is just burned. Was your Color Engraving in Focus? Or did you Defocus it?
Besides this problem I love this laser, it is much fun to use.
Great Video btw.
It was in focus right at the surface. Try with the settings that I used on the test cards in the video. Speed was 1000 mm/s, with various powers, frequencies, passes, and line intervals.
Awsome video! Dose laser engravers produce fumes? Can i use it in an apartment? Im looking to engrave stainless steal is it hard to make a multicolor engraving?
All lasers will produce fumes and fine particles. They vaporize the material, so that needs to be vented somewhere. Companies do make fume extractor (also called air purifiers) for the lasers though. So if you cutting indoors, you'll need an enclosure and fume extractor.
@HoffmanEngineering thank you for your reply!
Hi, thanks for your video. Where did you get those stainless steel plates, can you share that with me? Thanks!
Thanks for watching! Links to the Stainless Steel Business Card Blanks are in the video description.
if i wanted to start creating custom metallic business cards (engraving them from home)... would this be my best option?
Yeah, I think this is a really good option for that!
Do you think it would be possible to engrave a logo on a beverage can?
Absolutely. In my review of the G2 Pro, I have a section where I engrave (and cut) an aluminum can. I would expect the original G2 to be able to do the same.

you maybe have answered this somewhere else but can this laser engrave acrylic?
I had great results with dark acrylics, but it didn't work so well on clear acrylic.
@@HoffmanEngineering thank you!
I am assuming this is a raycus laser?
Will someone teach me how to make the damn color Pokémon cards already?! lol
let know when you found a video on it
This machine marking cutting and engraving in metal or gold
Fiber lasers can engrave most metals, including gold and silver. It's more than just a surface mark, it can actually remove material. "Cutting", as in actually cutting through metal, isn't really possible unless you are talking about extremely thin melaterial. It cannot remove enough material fast enough to consider it cutting.
@@HoffmanEngineering with enough passes it can cut. First hand experience.
It can burn wood easily. It can cut and it can do colours. And I’ve only had it for a few days. I also managed to learn how to use GLaser, Lightburn and Inkscape in a couple of days. Quality works require slow times like in 3D printing.
The coins aren't "sensored"
$2500 good bye
Gotta pay to play. There are cheap a$$ alternatives
hey bro, is there any way we could text or email? i have some full color designs i want engraved onto my macbook, but i need some advice on how to get it done, or just find out if its even possible.
