    Enjoyed the video! Just picked up some trek board from the big blue store, roughly 200’ for about $31, which was returned by someone with a few of the boards mitered... and I got some of the most expensive pvc decking board, which was 20’ long at $80 a board with no defects and I got 8 for the price of two. So it never hurts to check on the outside of the building on the lumber side or ask an employee,you never know what deals you can find!

    Great build! Just one thing - I think the order in witch you put together the base could be different so you don't have to spin the whole leg assembly around itself. Start with the long stretcher and the T connections, then the short side pieces, then the individual legs. Hope that made sense! Love your videos, look forward to them.

    Johnny B! We love this effin thing! We will be making this jam too! Thank you so much for making this video and the fun facts about True Value. You know what I noticed? I noticed you don't use a Kreg jig for your angles holes (pocket holes), but you do have the Kreg jig drill bit. Not using the jig because its just rough up and no one will see them? OH SNAP! Was That Alex and Seth at the end?

    • @craftedworkshop
      @craftedworkshop  6 років тому +1

      I just didn’t use it in this video to keep things simpler tool-wise, but you certainly could! And yes, that was Seth and Alex!

    To get those corners you should drill them out on the inside of your lines with your desired size bit and cut to the holes to make those corners easier to cut too.

    This is great. So glad I sub'd to your channel. Love the basic power tool approach. I'm a mechanic, so my tools are geared towards that. I'll have a few tools to get, but I will be making this when I get home from my deployment. I've been wanting one but none seemed built to last 'forever', and this one really seems like it'll outlast me. Adding this to my favorites and I'll be sure to download the plans.

    Well... what can I say? Fantastic work, simple and easy to build, also a very good idea in case you want to have something to keep your drinks cold in a party or a get-together and look cool at the same time. One question by the way. Why didn't you use glue on the wood parts when you put them together and only wood screws? And as always, it is a pleasure to watch your project Johnny!

    • @craftedworkshop
      @craftedworkshop  6 років тому +1

      Thanks man! Glue probably would have been a good idea but it’s plenty strong as is. I just didn’t want to make a huge mess honestly.

    Is it just cause I'm in California that the only pressure treated 2x4s that I'm aware of are the dark brown ones with the waffling? Yours look just like they are stained. Way nicer

    • @craftedworkshop
      @craftedworkshop  6 років тому

      Not sure, maybe they're required to pressure treat in a different way since California is so health conscious?

  • @OSODIY
    @OSODIY 6 років тому +4

    Nice build Johnny. I like that composite material since it's a lot more durable. One question tho, since there's slight space between the boards, would rain/moisture get into the 2x4 boards underneath and warp/damage them?

    • @craftedworkshop
      @craftedworkshop  6 років тому

      Thanks! The 2x4s are pressure treated, so they should be fine.

      Crafted Workshop Given the price of the boards it might be reasonable to not go beyond a planter about the size of your modern patio cooler but with mitered corners and that cool neutral colour it would probably look pretty sleek and stylish.
      You're welcome!😉

    • @pixelised

      Crafted Workshop I'd watch that!😊 If it didn't use a bajillion power tools I might even try to make one. Even though someone said "DIY is always best when it’s really DBSE - done by someone else" and, in the case of woodworking, I'm tempted to somewhat agree with that…🤔😄
