If Shakespeare Wrote a Play About Breakfast Cereal (Improv Challenge)

- Welcome to "A Game Most Changed" - our all-Shakespeare episode of Game Changer, featuring the incomprehensibly talented Improvised Shakespeare Company members Joey, Ross, and Blaine. Watch Sam give them a lil prompt, and then they actually create A FULL ON SHAKESPEARE PLAY IN IAMBIC PENTAMETER AND EVERYTHING (while naming a bunch of cereals). Pretty impressive, right?

Joey setting up cereals for Ross and Blaine, knowing he wouldn't get the points, is beautiful
It's all worth it for the moments when they all simultaneously say the thing together
Thats a great scene partner right there
"I know not the pricks of age and I shall not know *his* prick either." is such a raw line.
And exactly the kind of dirty double entendre the Bard would use. Besides the extraordinary improv, these guys clearly have insane classical training and deep familiarity of Shakespeare to not only mimic the style, candence and vocabulary of his works but to insert the kind of word play he used completely ON THE FLY. Serious hat tip.
@@no3namesalike Amazing, absolutely amazing.
Truly the bawdy hand of the dial is upon the prick of noon.
Raw 😅
It’s like a written line from Shrew. But it’s not. But it could be. Wild.
This entire episode was insane. I couldn't write something like that will all the time in the world and these people just ad-lib it. Just mindblowing
Where do they post the full episodes?

Incredibly happy that improv overcame the want to win. The absolute king on the left set the others up for so many, getting no points for his efforts, and then left the scene early.
It’s not about whether you win or lose. It’s about the love of the game.
Yes and, tis the greatest point of all
Is that a VGHS reference? I haven't seen one of those in years!

@@mathmaniac3033 Cause at the end of the day, Calhoun. It’s all about the game
he does this so many times in the ep too! it's just a brilliant showing
My favorite part of this segment is that Count Chocula becomes a major character for the rest of the show.
This was AD-LIBBED? Who are these saints of spoken words so sweet & fraught? Pray, tell me, that I may follow them with a snap, crackle, and pop!
Lo, the three men which you behold here are all members of the Improvised Shakespeare Company. Indeed, this is but their day jobs, and talent they all have aplenty.
@@ryanbarham8464 and behold may I ever more! I must subscribe to this Dropout forevermore!

Ross's incredulous "to crunch?!?" at 1:13 is one of the funniest things I've ever seen
How can they do Shakespeare this well and make the cereal names work!? Bravo!!!
They are all part of a company called improvised Shakespeare
@@dennist3101 oh, that's very specific, and cool lol

It's so good!

They're part of a Shakespeare improv company so this is pretty much their job
@@quarkonium3795 I was mostly just setting up the Something Rotten reference, but okay
This is honestly so impressive. This is the one. This is the episode that gets me a Dropout subscription.
Welcome to the best thing that money can buy... a almost endless gift of solid entertainment..
I use my subscription every day...
Same i just subscribed lmfao
Should have watched the musical one they uploaded. It was even more insane.
Same
@@brucebanksshow that was the one that got me, what an amazing show
I love how this is basically in line with the rowdy and bawdy spirit of shakespeare of yore. Back then the actors and audience just had fun with it and there was plenty of sex jokes and coy nods to the audience.
*ahem* Country Matters.
If you all haven't had the chance yet to see Improvised Shakespeare Company, absolutely find the time and money to go. They are absolutely too talented for words.
are these guys from that specific group?
And thanks for drawing my attention to it! I watched some of the Improvised Shakespeare Company, they're amazing!!!
@@edenglass3098 Yeah, they are from the Improvised Shakespeare Company! I got the chance to see them in DC a few years ago, and it absolutely boggles my mind to this day how good they are!
@@TimPatJoy We saw them at a festival just earlier this evening and it was wonderful!
My brain just had a flashback. I might have seen these guys when I was in middle school or late elementary for a field trip. They took audience suggestions. It was awesome!
I literally just bought tickets after seeing this comment
I love how Sam is just in the Host's Podium enjoying this cereal filled Shakespeare play.
Game Changers main purpose is Sam’s amusement
@@North_West1 in his own words, he has created his own heaven on Earth
This will sound like an insult, but I mean it with 100% admiration: I put this episode on when I'm having anxiety and can't sleep. It calms me down so beautifully and makes me giggle off into slumber.
why would that be an insult
That’s a great compliment
@@pileofsaltOGit’d be an insult because its common to fall asleep to something that you find boring.
That’s a high level compliment no lie
Some of my favorite content are the videos I play on repeat to fall asleep. (I always watch new content fully awake, but use older videos to comfort myself into slumber) Marcel Vos' videos about RCT are my go to, his voice is so comforting
god this episode was just. magic. i love watching people be extremely competent at what they do for completely arbitrary points. and i think "oooh i wanna be crunched >:)" has rewired my brain
I shall never touch his wheaties or know his fruity pebbles is the single greatest sentence that Shakespeare didn't write.
Everything about this episode was fantastic, but honestly, Blaine low-key stole the show by breaking the confines of iambic pentameter in two incredible ways:
1:19 's "Oooh, I wanna be CRUNCHED"
5:36 's "What'm I gon' do then??"
These are underrated, under-the-radar, Zac Oyama-esque deliveries, and, depending on who you talk to, are actual character development moments; if iambic pentameter is the stuffy, "proper" way to speak in a Shakespearean play, then these breaks can be seen as raw, unfiltered emotion turned to words, fitting of a young girl dealing with knowing she's going to be wed off to some ugly, boorish count, instead of sma -- sorry, _crunching_ a young Adonis
I am so glad someone else thought this.
came to the comments precisely for this kind of comment, thank you
Couldn't agree more
It wasn't iambic pentameter at any point... ain't no one can improvise that good it's an insanely restrictive way to write
This is probably what it was like to see Shakespeare in the 1500's in terms of witty jokes that you could actually understand.
the fact that the character had to be called count chocula for the rest of the episode absolutely killed me lol
5:35 'What am I gonna do then?' I lost it 🤣
THIS IS WHEN I DIED (RIP ME) 🤣
When I first heard "TO CRUNCH??" I lost my iced tea 🤣 If this doesn't warrant a dropout subscription then I don't know what will. Had mine for the longest 💜
When the prompt came, seeing the plot they had crafted until now, I thought they'd start with obvious and go with Lucky Charms right of the bat, but they kept finding incredible ways to cite obscure brands and then made a whole lampshade to hang the lucky charms in a trio. I can't believe how talented those guys are.
this episode was PERFECTION.
This episode was TOTAL genius
Always able to count on Ross to bring the most obscure or defunct brand names no matter what prompts are thrown at him
this is up there with Mountport as one of the best, most impressive episodes of Game Changer
These two and the karaoke I’d say are the most impressive improv-wise!
"What am I gonna do then?" KILLS me
This is one of my favorite episodes. There is a stupendous amount of improvisation flexing but they are just so good. The more Game Changer I watch the more I understand how Sam came to lead College Humor and Dropout to success. He has great ideas and surrounds himself with people who share his vision.
i'd already seen most of this from shorts but the entire thing is just... incredible. the buildup to the lucky charms bit had me holding my breath!
I love how in this episode they repeatedly set each other up for points.
1. This needs more views
2. This is incredible
3. They are sooo talented
4. cheerio
I’m gonna be honest, when I first saw that this was going to be an episode, I had my doubts on how good it would end up being.
Those doubts were pretty much instantly killed, and this is now one of my favorite episodes they’ve done. The ending is still one of the best things to happen in any Game Changer episode.
The wrap up song was just chef's kiss!
I saw the improvised Shakespeare company live when I was in the United States, it was one of the best things I’ve ever seen. Highly recommend
Since this episode takes the form of a play, I felt like UA-cam shorts don’t really do it justice. So I’m very glad that you guys uploaded a full scene.
This episode is my favorite so far and it definitely deserves to be watched by more people!
"What am I gonna do then?" Is absolutely everything😂
Right now in Stratford-Upon-Avon, Billy is rolling in his grave...with laughter and delight. I'm sure he would approve of this tale.
Shakespeare is so powerful, he can write about anything and make it legendary.
If you don't already have Dropout, get it. It's so worth it for the full episodes of Game Changer, not to mention other shows like Dimension 20 and Um, Actually.
Edit: Also, go see the Improv Shakespeare Company if you have the opportunity. Just saw them tonight and they were even better live.
I really wanted one and I tried but the media player they used aren't compatible with my country. 😭😭😭😭
This was what finally convinced me to stop eating Dropout's promotional scraps and subscribe. Have NOT regretted it.
I'm legitimately impressed, cereal puns notwithstanding -- this is AMAZING
Missed opportunity to call it Shakespeareal
this was such a good episode the improvised shakespeare company is so impressive
And thus ends the predicament from which that daughter so brazen ran
Who defied the father who vowed from her birth she wouldst he raise in bran.
This episode was incredible when I first saw it. I just saw them perform in NYC last night. Equally impressive to watch them perform in person the world premiere (and closing performance) of “The Marmaduke has No Bladder”
Once you get Honey Smacks from Count Chocula, your Life is nothing but the luckiest of Lucky Charms, the fruitiest of Fruity Pebbles, and the crunchiest of Cap'n Crunch Crunch Berries.
Was just watching this on Dropout and had to come here to read comments. This has got to be one of the best things on the internet, the talent is unbelievable. I was absolutely cackling throughout the entire show!
it's a tragedy that this clip doesn't include the part from this episode that made me scream laughing, count chocula starting his villain monologue with "bleh"
The best worst part about this is that this is closer to what shakespear intended than the way shakespear is being played these days.
If we played Shakespeare as intended Othello would be a 35 year old white man in blackface and Desdemona would be a prepubescent boy. Ahhh the classics
"How I would enjoy a lovers' lunch.
Oh, how I would have a Captain me to Crunch."
Gorgeous thank you
This episode was fire and u see so much gleeful giggles by sam. Love this and the musical improv episode
"Amore" was so subtle that they missed it during the episode.
Game Changer was my introduction to the Shakespeare Imrpov players, and now I have tickets for one of their shows later this year! My most sincere thanks, @CollegeHumor
This is, without doubt, one of the most impressive things I have ever seen.
This whole episode is so fucking impressive, my mind was blown! ❤
This whole episode was like a magic trick. Just. Awesome.
"What am I gonna do tho" idk why bit thats when I lost it
This episode is infinitely re-watchable to me, absolutely fantastic work
i was dying laughing. no idea how they are so skilled as to do this. 10/10 would watch this shakespeare play.
That was a veritable master class in improv.
Saw the whole episode.
This is not just brilliant comedy. Its simply the greatest piece of improv I've ever seen!
In a different world, these guys would be billionaire rockstars with millions of swooning fans.
Alas, twas not to be thus.
i just had a lesson on shakespeare today… youtube has scary algorithm
One of the single most impressive improvs I have ever seen in my life
This is the single most impressive piece of improv I’ve seen in my life
This is ridiculously good for being on the spot. Minus the slightly slower speech & words that aren't old English when they obviously should have been verses new English. It's seriously impressive. ON THE SPOT!
One of the greatest episodes I've ever watched. Each bit was better than the last.
I don't recall hearing a ding when they said "Trix are for kids."
They said Trixs like a sentence earlier so they got the point then!
Can we please have another one? A game most changed is the best thing ever!
I have watched and rewatched this episode on Dropout. Every time I'm amazed how they do it.
I literally was talking about fruit brute and yummy mummy this past weekend. Hilarious.
I've literally watched this whole episode like four times. It's both very funny and very linguistically inspiring to me. I love Shakespear, though mostly the comedies. This to me has a lot of that.
BRAVO BRAVO THAT WAS EPIC I'm glad they finally snuck cheerios in there I was thinking the whole time how did you do a full shakespear scene without getting cheerio in there at least once but damn fruit brute grape nuts and yummy mummy damn that's some breakfast knowledge on a "whole nuvva levool"(key&peel)
A Captain to Crunch! 😂
@text-Gift971??
I could not possibly say enough about how much I enjoyed this episode. By far my favourite Game Changer yet!! Bravo!!!!
“I have decided who I will marry, a man with kindness the count lacks. I have decided my true love is *apple jack* “
Wow, the whole scene is just as amazing as the stort
HOW ARE THEY SO GOOD AT THIS??!!
Im so glad this entire segment made it here
So the subscription is worth this episode alone... I've seen the whole thing, and I could watch it over and over. It's pure genius❤
This episode was a masterclass in improv.
This is just the best episode!!! So glad UA-cam gets a glimpse.
I need a Time Machine to find out what Shakespeare would think of three people just improving in his style.
i've repeatedly re-subscribed to dropout just so that i can watch this episode in its entirety
Never not love Shakespearean improv. Here's to hoping this becomes a staple! 🤍
absolutely unparalleled talent
You guys are really good at comedy. Thank you for the constant work.
In woe I sit by the hearth with a roaring fire. The Snap, Crackle, and Pop fill my ears and lighten my heart though I sit to close and feel Rice Krispies.
Shakespeare would love this so much
This episode is the reason I got Dropout; I just had to see the whole thing
Even more impressive than the improvised Shakespeare and added cereal names was that they were all able to do that without breaking down laughing. I'd have lost my mind if someone said any of this to me unexpectedly.
This clip was the sole deciding factor to my decision to buy tickets to see them live next month. They are so hilarious.
my absolute favorite game changer ep!!! i rewatch it literally all the time lol
Best episode you've done. More more more!!!!
Super incredible! Loved it so much!
Oh my god... the talent of these guys! it was TOO FUNNY
That was genuinely amazing and it's not just the shrooms talking!
Dropout is completely worth the 💵 subscription.
They edged us hard by not taking the easy Froot Loops setup 😅.
The group spike of Lucky Charms was oddly satisfying.
Yummy Mummy pulled Saturday morning memories out of my subconscious.
That lucky charm set up 😂
This was extraordinary! I loved it
Just saw these guys live, and I laughed so hard that I cried.
This is amazing. I need more of this.
This is so amazingly good. These guys need more money.
