I thought it was a hard song to play, listening to it sounds difficult to play and this is the first song I’ve learned where you have to change tuning for, I learned the full think in like 30 mins from watching this video and it’s one of my favourite songs, I love songs that sound difficult to play but are actually pretty easy, thanks for this!!!

One of my favorite songs of all time.
Tip for the ending chords. Just mute the A with the pointer finger as you fret the E and only play the first three strings. Way easier that the full finger mute one you start getting back towards the nut.
The B string in the intro really takes me back. Such a small thing but makes such an impact. Weezer like PJ do such an amazing job taking so many simple parts and creating amazing sonic collages. Always love multiple guitar lessons. Great lesson. Thank you!

Same here. I am very confused. I guess I was expecting a closer look at the fretting hand and maybe like scrolling notes on the bottom. Sigh. Super discouraging at first. Hope ya figured it out by now.

I can play the piano and I’ve been trying to learn the guitar and I just had my very first epiphany aha moment. Something just clicked and now I can see the notes on a guitar just as clear. E7 minor with a B on the bass...For some reason when you said that it all clicked so thank you!

Just a little thing to type because why not. The way I play the riff rivers plays before the verse is open D open G, G, bend first fret D, G, G, bend 6th fret D, G then 10th fret D for the rest. On the second time around it's the same but instead it's 8th fret D on the ending bit

Ryan (or someone else in the comments), I know this is a very old video but could someone explain the chords right after the "bass part" when the guitar starts strumming? I've rewatched several times but I can't seem to understand? I'm also not used to hearing straight up chord names (still kinda new to guitar) so I'm just,,, lost. Went really fast in the video and I wish I knew the exact fingerings for each instead of "this chord, but ...". Or idk maybe I'm just stupid lmao. Thanks :)

Everett K Ross well on the album recording, rivers played all guitar on the entire album. when brian was recruited right after jason croppers dismissal, brian did not have enough time to learn the guitar part so the only thing brian contributed to on blue album was vocals
