They need him, period. Theyll work out something with him. After he shows out this season they'll wish they had done settled this way before now.
They do need a QB, and all they have is Tua: a good QB, not a clutch time game changer. Geno, Herbert, Lawrence, Cousins, Russ, Carr, Watson, Dak... Many teams are in that predicament. Stuck with what they have. At least, Bucs showed some sense with a reasonable Mayfield contract. Dolphins should follow Tampa's path.
The bad part about it he's being blamed for the first two years of his career when he didn't have a coaching staff Tua didn't have a coaching staff till this 3rd and 4th year
They always ignore that.
Yep, and even then it's not like his career passer rating was bad after those 2 years either
came in during COVID, had like 5 different OCs because Flores didn’t give a shit about the offense and they just threw him in there with a god awful OL that kept getting him killed (Jesse Davis). Don’t know a QB in history that’s overcoming all of that
Tua is as fucking awful and if his team doesn’t totally outclass the opponent, he’s still awful.
So if he needs the coaching staff then why is he worth $50+ million per season? He’s a system guy with no special talent that any NFL level QB has. No mobility and a suspect arm at best. Almost never gets to his second read.
Tua's deal will probably be between 52 and 55 million with 26 to 29 million guaranteed annually when spread out over a potential 5 year contract.
Before the Goff and Lawrence deals, I had Tua at five years $265 million. It’s gotta be more now…. Because….
“The market is the market…” 😅
If the market is that every quarterback resets the market then there really is no such market. It's a bullshit concept created by the greedy player reps.
@@zacbreeden1966 it’s not supposed to be every quarterback. Tua should get paid more than quarterbacks who are not as good as him.
There’s also the fact that the salary cap increases every year. That is the reason that you have quarterbacks making more than Burrow and Mahomes.
@@Jason-bk3nlhe’s not better than Lawrence or Goff. Same tier at best but not really worse
@@Mike-eh3cg agree to disagree.
@@Jason-bk3nl Lawrence and Goff both have at least won their divions. And I would argue they had less talent. Tua has arguably the best WR and supporting cast, the fastest offense in the league and a mastermind offensive coordinator. No excuse for him to be average and he is… he will get around 215 mil tho
I seriously think that the Broncos dealing in bad faith with R Wilson has added a new layer of players demanding more pay protections in their contracts.
And I don’t blame the players one bit.
The Broncos bad faith decisions last season with Wilson ushered in a new era of “I need more contract protection”.
Very logical observation. Do you have a Triumph or listen to the band?
Wilson gets paid by the broncos for the next two years while he rebuilds his brand elsewhere. He was more than compensated and protected in his contract.
@@zacbreeden1966 That isn't the reason. It is the visibility that happened when they tried to push him to forfeit his contract so they would not have to pay him his contractual guarantees. Players are just more aware.
@@zacbreeden1966 , Wilson will indeed get his full guaranteed salary. But only because the entire fan base, and probably the other team owners, were telling Denver front office to stop the insanity.
But the damage is done, in my opinion, and player agents are seeking better salary protections.
Just my opinion. But if you really want to know for sure, just ask me and I will reach out to an old friend who is a professional sports players agent and see what he says.
If Tua is not sign it going to set back the Phins for years.
If they pay him what he wants it destroys the team now. They can't afford to keep what they have left if they pay him all the money. They just got rid of key players to get back within the cap. It only gets worse if they overpay him.
@ridforddowns2406 True, they'll be set back for years. Tua is the best qb we could have. Anyone with sense knows this except haters, trolls and clowns.
It’s all about the guaranteed money
Tua will be signed and both sides will be smiling…
Tua isn’t going anywhere. This guy is so humble I truly doubt Tua is even worried about how much they give him as long as if it was fair. Miami is just letting all the other teams think that they can get him.
I hope Tua agrees with a team friendly contract. This will allow Greer to stay under the cap and bring in protection for Tua. We now have a top 20 offensive line.
I don't understand why people expect tua to sacrifice money when no ther qb is expected to. You think trevor, Murray, hurts, stroud, Herbert, Goff or anyone else would take less for team? Why should tua? He has improved every year and put dolphins back in conversation. Miami s development of tua first 2 years was criminal. Media treats him like shit when he works harder snd does work for charity and is clean as whistle character wise. He led league in many categories. This delay is disrespectful to him at this point. Pay the man. Damn.
@jefferycongdon3178 Grier has had many many years to fix that o line and you expect him to do it now with money Tua deserves.
@marmarbama7394 It's way past ridiculous, they don't deserve him. He's put everything on the line for this team and look how they show their appreciation. Shame on them.
@@marmarbama7394 It's is not about Tua or any one else. The Miami dolphins have been a complete mess with heavy contracts that crippled us for decades.
Tom Brady had team friendly contracts and NE had much talent across the board. We had a heavy contract in some players like $114 million DT Suh. How did that work for us? So yes, TEAM friendly contracts are great for all, no I in team. NE, kick our ass for 20 years!
The Dolphins beat Dallas who was a playoff team plus they were very injured oh and two years ago he went up in the snow at Buffalo and played his ass off and buffalo got lucky and beat us by a field goal Tua even said enough said about cold weather and I got news for the NFL making people play in Sub-Zero temperatures is just brutal but it's also inhumane it's evil they act like that Kansas City Dolphin game was a military thing that had to be done they can move that game to another location the NFL plays favorites just look at the schedules
@@Dobbs65 Mr Dobbs before you say something that ain't got no backing to it know this for a fact 74 outdoor games the Dolphins have played since 1966 they have one 25 times and one t i e with temperatures 40° F or lower so there with the asset of Google nobody should ever get on UA-cam or Twitter or anything and come across with silly statements that haven't got any truth to them
@@Dobbs65 oh and a Thanksgiving game a year ago when Marino was playing they beat Dallas in Dallas on Thanksgiving it was bad weather it was snow all over the ground it was I think 23° anyway
I meant to say years ago not a year ago but anyway the microphone doesn't pick up clearly and I speak very well
@@Dobbs65 and I know you're a hater so it really doesn't matter to those that hate they don't care about truths I guess I've just been a fool for even replying to you
@@Dobbs65 oh and just one more thing I want to say and I'll leave you alone for the rest of my life Jesus Christ is the only one that can judge correctly
They Better Sign Tua! QUICK!
I hope he's gets a deal close to the Trevor Lawrence deal. 5 years between 230-250 million with a big guarantee and a big signing bonus. I don't think he'll be the highest paid qb until he earns it. He's only 26 and if he continues to ball out like he did last season this won't be his last big contract
I'm not a Chris Greer fan anyway even though I love my Miami Dolphins
$60M per year based on what Trevor Lawrence got.
Haters ALERT just got in,TUA TAGOVAILOA is getting paid $99-mill from Ross and the Miami MAFIA gangster,INC.
100 million guaranteed. 4 years 50 million a year. Playoff bonus.
When your highest cap hit is QB the team has to be extremely cautious due to the ability to maintain the structure and future of the team. The QB has to have a high ceiling and be able to stay healthy!
I’m glad Miami isn’t buying into this “market” garbage. I think teams need to be careful when drafting these QBs in the first round and calling “franchise” guys. Trevor Lawerence is an above QB at best and that’s Jacksonville business if they wanna reset the market. That don’t mean every team should follow suit.
Amen. You can lavish on a QB only if he's good enough to make up for the team's weaknesses, and only a handful of QBs are that good. Or if the roster is loaded and secured for years to come. Jags, Falcons, Chargers, Giants, Saints, Cardinals, Browns are in over their heads. Let's hope Dolphins and Tua agree on a Baker Mayfield's type of deal.
Just a thought. If Tua makes 55,000,000/yr, he makes roughly 55,000 PER SNAP. I don't know everything about his contract, but that is sad that our priorities as a nation allow that. Call it anything you like, but an athlete will never be worth that money. I am a lifetime Dolphin fan, but professional sports salaries are out of control.
You say that like it comes out of our tax dollars or something or it affects services that our people need and infrastructure that our nation needs. If that's really your concern then you should be writing that message to your local politicians and DC. They're the ones stealing and pocketing most of our tax dollars and stealing from programs that people with low income desperately need. If an NFL owner wants to pay a quarterback 55 million that's his choice. It's his money he makes from his business dealings and owning a franchise. It has nothing to do with our priorities or our nation's money. Walk around your city and talk to your local politicians about that.
@@deansimmons8041 any persons work product is “ worth” exactly what someone is willing to pay. That IS the definition.
Dean, it's our priorities, as a civilization, that are loony. People prioritize and massively consume entertainment (movies, music, sports, shows...) above all else (education, health, fitness, social responsibility...). Hence the huge market and the huge salaries for the few figureheads driving the sales. Peace, Dean.
@deansimmons8041 It's these other teams that started all this. They are the most important player on the team. Herbert and Lawrence got paid so should Tua.
@@tuat.mvpformallybigd.2635 I guess you are right, but sports just should not be the most important thing in our world. If Herbert and Lawrence jumped off a cliff, should Tua jump also? Love Miami since 1972, love Tua and love what Miami is doing, but the money is an issue for me. How are the crazy salaries affecting prices of products?
👀
Jets will be better than them this year
What would rather have? Pay him and lose the receivers? Pay him less than what he wants and keep everyone? The Dolpins cant afford to pay everyone the max. He should've taken the deal presented like it was his idea
Pay tua. Why should he take less money to give hill more.hill can wait. He's making good money. None of these other qbs are taking less to help anyone. Get your money tua
If Hill leaves Tua is toast
@BMax0055 thats not true ..we have waddle an we have obj
@@vivM.5497 OBJ, lol you're trolling
@BMax0055 how can a dolphin fan troll. Cause you dont like what a girl says.. any wr can drop passes in big game like hill..so we will be ok with out him.we were before he got turn.tua knew how to throw a ball be for hill.
Fake news, he's gonna play on his 5th year option.
I think so, too. If he can't win a playoff game, or his season is marred by injury, they'll offer him a Baker Mayfield deal at best.
A Baker Mayfield deal would be reasonable for both parties.
between herbert and burrows. 190-215mil guarantee 5yr
Short of burrow more than herbert.
Dolphins ain’t winning shit. 2 receivers making 60mill combined and a QB making 50+ on top of that 🤣🤣🤣 they are cooked. If Tua wanted to win he should just sign an 8yr deal 320mill fully guaranteed.. no state income tax would pay off big and the team could actually build around him. He is not a force multiplier at the QB position, he is just like Dak a product of what is around him
I think Tua's head got to big for his own good,Don't see him signing' less $$$$.
GM likes to low ball and so players walk😢😢
Is Tua Better than Mahomes? NO !! WHO'S WIN MORE SUPPERBOWLS?? Mahomes makes 45 Million!! Tell Tua Final Offer 50 Million with Incentives like Win The Division, Winning Play Off Games, Winning The AFC, Getting to the Superbowl and Winning The Superbowl!!! Prove It and You'll get the Money he haves the Weapons!! No Excuses
@bbrianexify No qb wins games by theirselves. It's the coaching players and having healthy players.
@tuat.mvpformallybigd.2635 True but they can help by getting the ball to the Right Players at the Right Time helps a lot
@bbrianexify Two many key injured players were out and the whole team doesn't handle the cold well. With 2 seconds or less to find a receiver and hit him is pretty dang good to me. Can't put all the blame on Tua.
@@tuat.mvpformallybigd.2635 Winners find a way to WIN MAHOMES
I still don't think he's a top caliber quarterback. He's not capable of winning the big game over a winning team. Yes, he's had a few good games, but he loses the big games. He's not worth the money. I'm a half-century plus Dolphins fan.
I agree. But what path should Dolphins take? Tank and draft? Promote Skylar? Hire a good backup and hope he becomes a Josh Allen? Options are hard to see, at this point.
@@MrTBALLS You should seriously quit thinking then.
Tua is not worth extending period, move on from the guy. He sucks when we really need him
I agree. But what path should Dolphins take? Tank and draft? Promote Skylar? Hire a good backup and hope he becomes a Josh Allen? Options are hard to see, at this point.
You seem to forget the last 25 years of cycling through QBs. I’d take Tua over risking that shit again
@@Keeks540 yes, that makes sense.
@Quay33 OK clown, your comment speaks for it self. Tua is definitely worth more than Lawrence.
@@jeanfourcade Respectfully jean, this fanbase gotta stop being so fearful of success. As opposed to being stuck with a limited QB that folds under pressure. Which path? Every path it takes !! Draft, free agency, etc… Why continue with this epic failure at QB?
Tua can't beat good teams, let alone playoff teams. He gets injured and losses in cold weather. Good the Dolphins are not breaking the bank.
False. He's beat the bills, ravens, lions, cowboys, browns. So that's a lie. Burrow has missed more games than Tua, and Jackson has also missed significant time, as for cold weather. The dolphins as a whole not Tua, but the dolphins in general have a winning % in the 30's in cold weather games. That's a team issue and pre Tua issue. Check your facts first...
Here's a fact that I checked...the fins haven't won a playoff game since before my oldest kid was born. She just graduated from college. I don't blame the organization being reluctant to mortgage the entire farm on a guy who has yet to be an oasis in a scorching dry desert.
@nicholasglade4572 No Tua can't beat those teams by himself. It's a team sport and it's really hard when your key players are injured.
He will be in the middle of the pack far as a big payday
