Hi Richard. This is an exciting day for all of us who have followed New Junction over the years, especially for anyone like me who came back into the hobby through seeing your original video series. It will be great to see how your new layout progresses from day one. If it's anything like the first one, it will be truly inspiring and a great pleasure to be able to have a share in it. Yes! This is just what I need. Built my baseboards (not as fancy as yours) in feb 2020. Covid hit, prices jacked up and I gave up. Boards have been sat all built in the loft for nearly 2 years. Watching your progress will be just the kick in the stones i need to get my own layout back in play. Looking forward to seeing the progress.
The greatest challenge you will face is finding the time. Fatherhood catches you anytime you turn around and think you have a minute. 😁 It is awesome to see the start of a new New Junction. Like everyone else commenting, I am just glad to see you are excited to be back at it and looking forward to what you create. Sadly or happily, the old New Junction is in the distant enough past, there won't be direct comparisons.

canals or river would make a great way and easy way to join the board from expo to home layout, also a canal along side a heritage railway adds a time let age to it. great to see you on a new project. good luck
Great to see you back Richard with the new layout. Hard to believe it’s been 2 years since we said goodbye to New Junction 1. Some very interesting plans you have in mind and I look forward to watching your progress and of course the Summer BBQ 😉👍
I salute your ambition to be able to rotate 3 boards to create a single run, presumably you have to fit board 4 to 3 in the circuit garage build stage to get perfect alignment for exhibition run. For the fiddle yard entries will become board 6 into fiddle yard and board 1 into fiddle yard, so the circuit return curve board abutting board 4 also has to line up with board 1. In reality you will probably need two new curve boards to exit board 1 into the fiddle yard, life is far two short to get the level of accuracy needed for it to all fit together!
Brilliant to see you’ve actually started with the new New Junction build Richard 👍🏻 looks as if Dans made a brilliant job as usual of the baseboard build ..looking forward to watching as it takes shape 😊

@@NewJunction Not really. I'm usually too impatient and want to run trains. The parts where I've done scenery, I've typically weathered the track, then painted with cheap acrylic paint, usually either gray or brown depending on whats going there. So the closest I've come to treating it is basically bog standard acrylic paint that costs about $1 at Walmart here in the USA. Now my layout is sitting in a reasonably climate controlled basement, so you might want to treat it if thats recommended for where you live. The only baseboard issue I have ever had was one board needed a bit more support, and again that was down to me going, ah I'll add that leg later and got side tracked running trains. :)
