The media def made it seem as though she was going crazy when the only thing she is saying is what a lot of celebrities said. Tlc said they wasn't getting paid cause the industry took there money and they signed a bullshit contract. Lauryn Hill is saying she had to get away from the corrupt industry before she go crazy. She even said these new artist she kinda feel sorry for cause they don't know what they getting themselves into. I still love you ms Lauryn Hill

She's not crazy or insane. Her words are full of wisdom and there is an overwhelming amount a truth to what she's expressed in this interview and others. It's clear that she's experienced a lot since The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill. She's grown and is apparently still growing but her transparency should be admired not belittled. I applaud her desire to remain genuine and even if she never releases another album I credit her always as one of hip hop's most brilliant artists.

Yes!!! Simple mind can’t comprehend because they see her and wants her to entertain but truth goes over many people’s head in search of itching ears and fleshy entertainment. She is not crazy. She evolved and is evolving. She is just a wise soul full of joy and the love of God...

This woman is ahead of her time. Her responses are awesome and she is so smart that I can't even comprehend half of what she says. I love her voice. I loved her in sister act. I never knew she was out there. I always wished she had made albums but I'm disappointed. I seen another interview just a few minutes ago that she said a song doesn't do things for people. I have to disagree with her on that. Songs can heal people. They can give people hope. And I wish she could understand that. Love you!

To the interviewer: thank you for showing Ms Hill the respect that she deserves, asking relevant questions, and most importantly for being humble to her wisdom, which superficial reporters might find difficult to follow.

She’s right about Hip Hop starting out as speaking out against society’s ills to embracing society’s vices

Lots of journalists used to make fun of Bob back then: the locks, the ganja, Rastafari beliefs. He wasn't always this legend or symbol

This woman's eyes are still opened. I do have much time for music though I have listened to a number of her interviews and poems to know that she is a gift, and still in sync with her (Fitra- Arabic meaning innate nature). She does have a message for humanity. There are times when remedy for our social ills comes from unexpected sources. We have to have our minds open. Her messages are as relevant as poetic. Her "motives and thought" quite sums up the crisis of the present. Bless her always

@lnerd81 It's funny how I thought this before she even said it. So many people with such beautiful artistic talent and they are being raped in the industry. Thats why it doesn't come out quite right. It makes me sad because I truly feel that music, like all Art is a form of a divine communication with Inner Self and with God, and with the Universe. How sad that this is being destroyed.

I'm sure it's not really on purpose. I think she can have her head in the clouds at times, but her default state is one of kindness. It does sound kind of bad coming from the person who is unapologetically late, but she really is worth the wait.

@art9schw It's possible, but not probable given the disrespect she displays to her fans! Most recently and for the second time in a month she was supposed to start at 9 but saunters out at 12. Then declares she's tired of “playing the same music night after night” then says "i'm worth the wait" and performs several unfamiliar versions of her music. So the crowd boos her. I think I'd be uppity too spending my hard earned money and being treated like I'm not worthy.

@InnerCityRocker I totally believe everything that you said. This is said. Like she said, its so much "potential" talent. Like Nicki Minaj... imagine the power she would possess if she wasen't lost in commercialize music! If she was to be hereself. A black woman, natural woman, along with her talent she would be her best, along with other artists...so sad. I wish I can see Ladygaga herself. Writing what she feels and what she think instead of what has to be done. It would be so much better.

"...different creature?" Damn Lauryn, look at yourself! If you guys know what happened at Oakland's Paramount Theatre, it was extremely disappointing to see and hear and witness her. And this is coming from an L-Boogie fan!

Sanity is relative to where you're drawing your references from. Case in point, only a few decades ago the DSM psychiatric manual identified homosexuality as a mental disorder. Lauryn is just a "deep thinker" and a questioner (i.e., a critical thinker) which is extremely rare in today's society. That is the real horror and pitifulness of the situation.

SHE SPEAKS THE TRUTH!!!!
