    This video covers the BlackVue X-series native parking mode feature and how to properly setup your dashcam to fully enable native parking mode.
    I have received several questions from viewers asking why the BlackVue X series dashcam they just installed turned off instead of going into parking mode when it's powered using the 3-wire hardwiring cable. In the FAQ section of the video, I address that question.

    Genius! Thank you soooo much. I have been trying for days to get my 750X to go into Parking mode. It turns out that the previously installed Power Magic Pro wiring red and yellow wires were different from the X hardwire and the Acc and Batt were reversed. Your video at 5:07 showing the pinout of the 3 wire plug showed me that the yellow and red needed swapped. Bingo! I now have Parking mode. What a great video, thanks.

    Mate! Thank you thank you thank you, I have been pulling my hair out with this for 3 days, even the shop who fitted the cameras could not figure it out. So I turned on battery protection and then set the options underneath to off as I have a Cellink NEO 8+ connected to the camera! I searched high and low on the web and came across your video which has resolved it with a simple click. Thank you .

    I'm FUMING!!!!! I was TOLD by BlackVue Customer Services to switch the Battery Protection to OFF (because I also have a B-124x), and from that moment on I did not have Parking Mode working (which I only discovered wasn't working about 6 months later)..... Many calls later and CS at BlackVue asking me to get my Electrician to reassess his wiring multiple times. So glad I found your channel!!!! Thank you so much.

    Hi great video. I have a coupoe questions.
    If you are working on the car for extended periods, shouldnyoubtuen parking mode off ie washing car or in garage etc?
    Secondly when in parking mode does it have an led that flickers from outside alerting possible thieves that a dash cam is recording? Personally i eould want that led set to off. Thanks

    • @RetroCarGuy530
      @RetroCarGuy530  Рік тому

      Since the BlackVue dash cameras don't come with a power button/switch, I added a switch to the power wires in the 3-wire harness that allows me to turn it fully off. The next best option would be to simply pull the power plug out of the dash camera to allow it to power down for times when you don't need to record in parking mode. Pulling the plug out is not the best option, but it can be useful. You can also turn off parking mode and then turn off the ignition and the dash camera should power down as well.
      There is a status led on the front/rear cameras. I turn off the status LED in the settings to make the installation as stealthy as possible.

    what is a better package "complete solution " for parking monitoring" 1. Getting the new DR750X 2CH LTE Plus with the Parking Mode battery 2. Getting the DR750X 3CH plus with LTE Connectivity Module and Parking Mode battery. Obviously #2 you get the extra interior monitoring cam that would be nice for open widows or convertable. My concern is it better to have a separate LTE Connect or to get the new model with LTE built in?

    • @RetroCarGuy530
      @RetroCarGuy530  Рік тому +1

      I tested the DR750-2CH LTE dash camera a couple of years ago. The LTE modem used in that dash camera did not work very well in my area (Northern California - Sacramento Valley). It would drop connections a lot. I believe the current DR750X-2CH LTE uses the same LTE modem as the older model. I ended up getting the CM100LTE connectivity device and I tested that with a DR900X-2CH, a DR750X-2CH Plus, DR900X-2CH Plus, DR750X-3CH Plus. It works very well.
      The other thing to consider is the DR750X-3CH Plus dash camera reduces the front camera video bitrate to allow the processor to handle the extra (interior) video channel processing. It doesn't seem to degrade the image very much, but it does reduce the bitrate compared to the 2-channel version of the camera. If you don't need the interior camera, I might suggest the DR750X-2CH Plus using the CM100LTE connectivity device and a dash camera battery pack.

    Hi mate i have a 900x plus with lte module, I only drive my car 1s aweek so its parked 6 days aweek, I need parking mode on,does the 900x plus have motion detection, I want it to record only when it detects movement, and will i need a back up battery pack if so what do you recommend please thank you.

      @RetroCarGuy530  Рік тому +1

      There are two parking modes available with the DR900X Plus, "Motion & Impact detection" and "Time lapse". The amount of time you want to have the DR900X Plus in parking mode (6 days a week) will mean a dash camera battery pack plus one or more additional dash camera extension battery packs. The issue with having several dash camera battery packs is it will take an extended time to charge them to full capacity (several hours - for multiple battery packs). On the day you do drive you vehicle, you would have to drive it for a long period of time to fully charge the battery packs or supplement their charge level by getting a DC inverter and/or DC power supply to configure a home charging setup for them. The new BlackVue B-130X has a capacity of 7,500 mAh / 96 Wh, but it does not support adding an extension battery pack or packs. The BlackboxMyCar PowerCell 8 does support adding extension battery packs (Cellink Neo Extended Battery). You might want to look at my recent video on the three of the highest capacity battery packs on the market today (North America). ua-cam.com/video/Gn3IoBjO_Vg/v-deo.html

    Blackvue needs to setup firmware for parking mode ACC only.
    Quite annoying it will switch to G-Sensor motion base park mode when car is stationary 5 minutes, requardless of all three wire hook up.
    Goes instant into park mode when engine off like it should, and instant normal recording when engine starts, like it should.
    But sit in traffic 5+ minutes and goes into park mode defeating the purpose of a ACC trigger.

      I've been suggesting to Pittasoft that they should add a firmware setting to enable/disable the motion based parking mode. I agree that motion based parking mode still being enabled when the dash cam is being powered by a 3-wire hardwiring harness makes little sense to me.

    I am planing to buy Blackvue DR770x - 2ch. I have a question regarding parking mode. So I am planning to install the dashcam with hardwire without any other accessories. In that case, will the parking mode turn on every single time I stopped the car? Coz usually I park my car in the garage and I don’t need the parking mode on that time. So is there any option to manually turn on and off parking mode without any other accessories?

    • @RetroCarGuy530
      @RetroCarGuy530  2 місяці тому +1

      BlackVue dash cameras can have parking mode enabled/disabled via their firmware settings. If parking mode is enabled and the dash camera is hardwired, the dash camera will enter parking mode when the vehicle's ignition is turned off (turning off accessory power). It will also go into parking mode if the vehicle remains stationary (motionless) for 5-minutes.
      There is no option to disable parking mode without going into the settings using the BlackVue app. That's why I add a switch to the power cable for the BlackVue dash camera that allows me to turn off the constant battery power to the dash camera when I arrive at home and park the car in the garage.

    • @IsuruFernando-hf3hi

      @@RetroCarGuy530 yeah it makes sense cut down the power via switch once you park at the garage. Then do we need to turn it back on every time if we are going out? Or the camera get the power through the accessory power even the power cable switched off?

    • @RetroCarGuy530
      @RetroCarGuy530  2 місяці тому +1

      The dash camera is always powered by the constant battery power source. The accessory power wire is only so the dash camera knows when the vehicle is running or not running.

      @@RetroCarGuy530 which means we need to turn the switch manually ON, when we are going out?
      But if we use cigarette lighter adapter, the camera only get power when the car start up, then why can’t we use the same method for the hard wire? I mean what about if we swap the acc and constant power wire? Does it allow us to turn on the parking mode just by the switch..🤔

    • @RetroCarGuy530
      @RetroCarGuy530  2 місяці тому +1

      Yes, you must manually turn on the switch when leaving the garage. You can hardwire the dash camera so that both the camera's constant battery wire and accessory power wire are connected to an accessory/switched power source in the fuse box. That will be equal to what the cigarette lighter adapter does to send power to the dash camera. If the camera's constant battery power wire is only getting power from an accessory/switched power source, the dash camera will never go into parking mode, it will turn off when the ignition switch is turned to the "off" position.

    Hi, i have b124x connected with dr750x plus 2ch. Why only running 10 hrs on parking mode? And sometimes dash cam powering down itself on parking mode even battery still have 70% left. Thanks

    • @RetroCarGuy530
      @RetroCarGuy530  2 роки тому

      The B-124X should be able to power that dash camera for 18 to 21 hours in parking mode. If the DR750X Plus setting "Firmware / Wi-Fi / Wi-Fi auto turn off" (after 10 minutes of no use), you should get the upper end of the time range. If you have a CM100LTE connectivity device connected as well that makes it so Wi-Fi won't auto turn off and it reduces the amount of time that it can run on battery in parking mode.
      In the BlackVue Battery Manager app, make sure the "Battery capacity" value being reported is 6000 mAh with that being the capacity of the B-124X's internal battery. If that value is not shown as 6000, use the settings panel to adjust it back to 6000 mAh. That value along with the B-124X's belief as to the current charge level of the battery will determine what it's reporting for the percent charge level remaining.
      Make sure the power wiring for the DR750X-2CH Plus is connected correctly to the B-124X's output power port. The BATT+ and ACC+ (if using 3 wire hardwiring harness) and GND wires should be connected directly to the B-124X. The GND wire of that 3-wire harness should not be connected to a vehicle body ground, it should be connected to the B-124X. Not likely the issue, but worth mentioning.
      The DR750X-2CH Plus should have firmware "System / Battery Protection" enabled (otherwise it won't go into parking mode). With the B-124X powering the dash camera, you could turn off the "Low voltage cut-off" voltage setting or if you want it enabled you could set it to a low voltage level of 11.8 volts. Make sure the "Cut-off timer" is disabled as well since that will limit the amount of time the dash camera will remain in parking mode.
      If checking everything mentioned before this point doesn't solve it, then either the DR750X-2CH Plus is consuming more power than normal in parking mode (280 mA to 300 mA) or the B-124X's internal battery is not really getting charged to 100 percent or its true capacity is far less than the expected 6000 mAh. If you're familiar with using a digital multimeter, you could place it in the BATT+ wiring to see how many milliamps (mA) the DR750X-2CH Plus is truly consuming and if it's well above the expected 280 mA to 300 mA range then the dash camera might be defective.
      All of what I've mentioned is making sure the dash camera and the B-124X are wired correctly, configured correctly and then moving on to see what might be defective. I hope something in this long reply helps.

    Hey, my 750x is hardwired with taps ect. to fuse box, however parking mode only activates after 5 minutes of being stationary rather than instantly when car is off, since it’s an x series i thought it was supposed to switch instantly, any ideas?

    • @RetroCarGuy530
      @RetroCarGuy530  2 роки тому

      If the 3-wire hardwiring harness is connected to constant and accessory powered fuse taps, it should enter parking mode immediately after the accessory power is turned off. BlackVue uses somewhat unique colors for the battery/constant (yellow) power and accessory/switched (red) power wires in the 3-wire harness. Make sure the yellow wire is connected to a constant/constant battery powered fuse tap/socket. Make sure the red wire is connected to a fuse tap/socket that is truly an accessory/switched powered fuse tap/socket.
      Since your 750X is staying powered long enough to enter the motion based parking mode, it sounds like the yellow wire (battery) is connected to a fuse socket supplying constant power, but the red (accessory) wire may be incorrectly connected to a fuse tap/socket that is providing constant power as well. If the red wire is connected to a fuse tap/socket that turns off when the ignition switch is turned off, the 750X should immediately enter into parking mode.
      Also, the battery protection feature in the firmware settings must be enabled and you should select an appropriate low voltage cutoff value for your parking mode needs.

    • @RetroCarGuy530
      @RetroCarGuy530  2 роки тому +1

      To have the instant parking mode on/off behavior, you must use the 3-wire hardwiring harness to power the dashcam and there should be two fuse taps. One fuse tap for constant battery power (yellow wire) and a second fuse tap for switched accessory power (red wire) and of course the black wire is connected to a ground location. If you use the cigarette light/power port adapter to power the dashcam, you will not get the instant parking mode on/off behavior.

    • @RetroCarGuy530
      @RetroCarGuy530  2 роки тому +1

      @Derek Chung yes it should. All BlackVue dash cams have a "motion based" parking mode in addition to the instant parking mode on/off behavior when powered using the 3-wire hardwiring harness. As long as you have selected one of the two available parking modes in the firmware settings, the dash cam will monitor the vehicle motion. When the vehicle has been stationary for 5 minutes, it will enter parking mode. When the vehicle begins moving again, the dash cam will exit parking mode and resume normal recording mode.
      Also make sure to enable the "Battery protection" feature in the firmware setting and select an appropriate low voltage cutoff value to protect your vehicle's battery from being fully discharged by having the dash cam continuing to draw power after the vehicle's engine has been turned off.

    Im going from the 900s to the 900x plus and I’ve been using the b124x (hardwired) I’ve ordered the 3 wire b124 wire. My question is how do I connect the new 3 wire hardwire that comes with the x series and the b124 wire to each other so that I have native parking mode. You mentioned to just splice them. What’s does that mean

    • @RetroCarGuy530
      @RetroCarGuy530  2 роки тому +1

      The 3-wire output power cable for the B-124/B-124X dashcam battery packs has a label attached to the wires near the end that just has the three wires (not the end that plugs into the B-124). The 3-wire hardwiring cable provided with the 900X plus also has a label attached to each wire.
      BlackVue uses a slightly "odd" color convention for the power wires compared to other dashcams.
      "Battery(+)" = Yellow / "ACC(+)" = Red / "GND" = Black
      Most other dashcam companies use red for the "Battery(+)" wire and the yellow for the "ACC(+)" wire. It doesn't really matter as long it is known which wire provides what power and they're connected based on the definition for each wire.
      Both the BlackVue 3-wire dashcam battery pack output cable and the BlackVue DR900X Plus 3-wire hardwiring cable use the same wire/color labeling. You connect (splice together) the wires from the two wiring cables. You can use 22 awg butt (crimp) connectors (usually red in color) to join the wires together or solder each of the three wires and use a heat shrink tubing and/or electrical tape to cover each one.
      You unplug the original power port output cable from the B-124 and replace it with the one you just spliced together to provide power to the DR900X Plus dashcam.

      The BlackVue dash cameras offer two parking modes "Motion & Impact" and "Time-lapse". The "Motion & Impact" videos will record at 30 fps and will playback at normal speed of 30 fps. The "Time-lapse" video records at 1 frame per second (fps) but plays back at 30 fps so it looks sped up because every 1 second of playback is showing 30 seconds of recorded video frames.
