Steve Coogan has been playing Alan Partridge on and off for 31 years, you think the Character would become outdated by now! But still has me in stitches.
If anything its getting funnier as he gets older
The way he can stay in that unique character is so impressive. Even the older material is still funnier than most of the current comedies.
I think it's because it isn't a gimmick, he's just playing a really odd bloke not like a sketch show character a la Little Britain

Quality comedy lasts (like most things) - Look at monty python's longevity or Rowan Atkinson's stage work.
I think we all remember when Alan drove to Dundee in his bare feet- dark days, so happy they are behind him now and he,s back on top! Long live Alan!

Agree with that one. Coogan's genius with language is part of what makes his comedy outstanding.
@@davetubervid you have to remember though that Alan is written by about three people. So while Coogan is obviously brilliant, a lot of the things he says here are written by his co-writers too.

Pretty sure it's all scripted, Ross clearly has a sheet of paper there with his list of prompts, takes nothing away from the craft tho, all the greats did it that way, Parkinson always lamented that he regretted having to do this with Les Dawson, Tommy Cooper and Frankie Howerd because he wanted to get nearer 'the person' but they wouldn't come on unless it was scripted
I thought Alan Partridge was dead.
You can't imagine my joy slash horror at discovering he's still alive.
i highly recommend his 'from the oasthouse' on audible, it's exquisite, and series 2 is out in September. I've listened to it several times now and it remains excellent. 'This Time' is amazing too. I think the more recent stuff is much funnier than the original material, Steve Coogan is a genius.

I remember him on Saturday Night Live and his character Paul Calf's catchphrase " Bag of shite " and the funniest sketch from his series where he's the motivational speaker and climbs over a railing to access the venue and impales his foot on the railing.

(Now the M60 Motorway) it was during a Heavy snow storm ,As he walked away from the Shelter We shouted to him" Watch out for the Small trench Which he immediately fell into 😊 and eventually climbed out covered in snow and yet still trying to look cool (He wasn't)
He did manage to save the Bottle of Southern Comfort from smashing though.

Lived opposite the toblarone factory in Bedford in the mid eighties , the smell from the factory was mental torture to a chocoholic like me
i just found out that there is aborted fetal tissue in the toblerone, that makes it addictive
It is also in all the energy drinks and a whole lot more products from very renown branches like nestle and quaker etc.
