I'm a newish viewer and love your no nonsense take on all things knitting. I've never done a test knit before, and I've never knit a cardigan (socks and hats and a pullover), but I would be totally game to test knit that cardigan as my first go!
In a similar vein, I have to say as an adventurous beginner who leans heavily into tutorials, I always think it's worth it to record technique vidoes OR, even better, an entire tutorial on a particular pattern. There are a lot of basic patterns out there with minor variances, and I'm apt to go for the one that says a free tutorial is included, so I can see each section being worked at the start. Just my two cents. :D
