@mariojsworld Thank you Mario - really appreciate it. Yes, the storm certainly changed the plans, but added something to the experience. All the best my friend 😊👍🏼
@@stigfloberghagenphotography thanks Stig - appreciate it. Yes, in the high winds I’m beginning to appreciate the value of tents that pitch poles first, followed by clips, rather than poles through sleeves. Really catch the wind. All the best 😊👍🏼
@@janrolsenfoto Hello Jan. Yes it certainly was. Quickly realised that the tops was no place for hiking or camping in that wind. Managed to get the tent up in the end, and enjoy the experience. All the best 😊👍🏼
I enjoyed that, you show it as it is. Us normal people can relate to you and you inspire others to go camping. Some other youtubers are over the top. :)
@@garethandsylvia6656 Hello Gareth and Sylvia, thank you for the kind words and support - I really appreciate it. @@roseltamangbinodlimboo Thank you Rosel and Binod, really appreciate it. Yes, really tough conditions, but I know the area well. Thanks again. All the best 😊👍🏼
@@KieCamps Thanks Kieran - really appreciate it buddy. Yes, the next morning realised I’d pulled my glutes during the slip. A painful decent down with the heavy pack on in the morning. All the best mate 👍🏼😊
Really good video, Craig. I love the walk through those woods, and the Robin was a bit special. Talk about wild is the wind - those conditions on Illgill Head were savage, and there's no escaping it on that great mountain. A nice pitch in the end, and looked like a decent sunrise. Keep 'em coming, Craig. Great stuff.
@@malgreenley-lakedistrictvi5230 Thanks Mal - really appreciate the kind words. I really like how barren and raw it feels in this area of the Lake District, with the screes towering above. Tried to get some views from the ridge walk, but Mother Nature had other ideas. 💨. A great experience all the same. Keep up the great work Mal. All the best 😊👍🏼
@@PhilDodsworthOutandAbout Thanks Phil. Yes, some really testing wind and cold, but we gave it a go. In some conditions I often think/say ‘you don’t realise that you’re enjoying yourself until you get home’. All the best buddy 😊👍🏼
Such a good vid, the editing was so good, the pace, the views going up. The woods, the Robin in front of the camera, and the spooky trees, great stuff. That tent is the legendary Helm 1, it's good in the wind isn't it? Like how you use a compression sack for the Rab 900, takes up half my rucsack 😂
@@Chilternwildcamper Thanks for the kind words Lesley - really appreciate it. I really enjoyed the variety of experiences on this one. You can never quite predict how it’s going to go - keeps it exciting! Yes, the Helm 1 really surprised me on this one, thought it might have been too much, but stood its ground. Proper tank. Not sure if you’ve got a compression bag, but using my sea-to-summit, I just stuff it in, compress it with body weight as I’m going, and then slowly sinch it down with the straps, a good old fight, but really helps. The 900 is massive isn’t it😬. All the best 😊👍🏼
Cracking video as always Craig and stunning choice of location, video editing is noticeably improving with every adventure, also visibly more relaxed and enjoying your environment even in the harsh conditions .... You got free heated gloves, why didn`t I get free heated gloves🤩 Ps. thank you very much for the shout out, I nearly choked on my Ovaltine and fell off my rocking chair as never even expected that which has made my year and its still only January🤗 Hopefully Moochin about next week with some new Xmas gear to test out, keep up the great work, Chin chin
