Nice video, didnt know you knew Stephen Roach, lives near me and I bought a tent off him last year. Small world! Nice lad and takes cracking photos of his camps.
For hard or frozen ground, I carry 4 of Vargo’s hardened titanium nails. They’re £4 each and weigh 14g but are hard enough for splitting slate. If you put them on the main, windward pegging points, your tent is unlikely to go anywhere but I can appreciate that you might want 6 for a Soulo. I also carry 4 titanium channel pegs for peaty ground. Whichever kind of peg is gripping better gets the most challenging pegging points. If the ground isn’t too bad, I use little shepherd hooks through the cord loop to stop guy lines from slipping off the titanium nails. The titanium nails can stand up to some serious bashing with rocks and have served me well for so many years that I can’t remember when I bought them. Great video so I’m subscribing.
@@andrewwalpole7401 you have good eyes. I noticed it when I looked at it before packing down. No damage caused with is good but a thing to always look out for. Thanks for watcing 😃

If in doubt can peg the guylines out individually rather than 2 lines per peg.
Used hilleberg hard ground pegs, with a rubber mallet to knock them into the ground. Some of tops fell off, poor design.
Be careful with your poles. I noticed a big gap in your poles.
