The 70's were by far the best decade of my life. I was a kid and carefree. No other decade's music can hold a candle to the 70's and I mean that for all types of music: pop, classic rock, r & b, etc. Back then we had true artists and amazing bands. Since then we've had crap. :)

One of my most favorite songs by Diana Ross! Brings so many memories back to me from the year 1973 and of fun times with my friend Kathy Long. She's gone now but she was a childhood friend I could never forget.

This is a classic. It only happens when song, artist, producer and musicians are perfectly in sync, as they obviously were on the day of this recording. This one stands the test of time.

I remember hearing this in our green 1973 Mercury Grand Marquis Colony Park station wagon ... 20 feet long with simulated wood paneling and a 429 cubic inch engine. What a beast.

This song reminds me of my beautiful Aunt Rachel who died in December of 2007 at 60 yrs old, more importantly it take me back to the summer of 1973 when I was go to her house to hang out with my cousins and I was a young pup of 9 yrs old. That summer seemed to last forever. My aunt back then was more like a mom to me because my own my was too busy doing her drugs to care about me, my brother and three sisters.
Thank You Aunt Rachel for everything that you and my uncle Gilbert did for me.

I have always believed that Ms. Ross is among the best singers ever, if not the best, at phrasing. On this song, her choices and her talent for phrasing are at their very best. She makes this powerful lyric even more poignant and moving.

This is a song best understood and felt by people who have been through love's crucible. My wife and I separated and I moved to Florida and drove taxi, tried to put the pieces together. One day I'm cruising along and THIS song, with that unmistakeable piano lead in, comes on radio. It FLATTENED me. Had to pull my cab over...That's a Powerful song.

Diana Ross could sing it All, POP, R&B, Disco, Adult Contemporary, Country, you name it. She is the best Female Singer in my opinion and nobody touches her entertainment facter. She wasn't named Billboard Female Entertainer of the Century for nothing. She truly was the best even with all the negative crap, she had to deal with and being black.

This song is beautiful. It is about the end of a love affair. It is something we all go through. And we recall as she says "did we not take us to a place where no one has ever been". That is catchy and good. Everytime it is different because the person we are we is.

"Touch Me in the Morning" to me epitomizes the "mature" post-Supremes Diana Ross, before her early '80s disco resurgence. Her early-mid '70s period doesn't get much airplay these days, which is sad, because songs like this, "Last Time I Saw Him" and "Theme From Mahogany" were some of her best vocal performances ever.

Many great memories over this gem!!!! In my adolescence I remember, fondly, everyone talking about the garbage music of the time (Ja Rule, 50 Cent, Ashanti)...circa 2000-2002... the only thing I could do was block them out and imagine this track programmed for my immediate pressing of the "play" button over my bag of Gardetto's....GOOD MEMORIES!

Classic Diana!! No doubt. It is amazing to think of today's female stars. They don't have the depth of soul, charisma, and star power that Ms. Ross had in the apex of her career. She was beyond that of a shining star. Those were heady days for her and her fans.

I remember this from early middle school, 1973. With this one, Diana began to solidify her transformation from an R&B performer to a pop act. Along with Berry Gordy, she sought to expand her fan base beyond her core audience and dedicated outliers to one of all-out popular crossover. This was a fantastic impetus toward that eventual end. Actually this song describes exactly a girlfriend I had some years ago - and exactly how we broke up. And you know, though it is small consolation to her, I still miss her, even after many years have gone by. So when I hear this, almost invariably, a tear comes to my eye.
