Yes, me, too I wish that NBC Daytime would be revived b/c all you have now other than Days of our Lives is 4 Freakin' Hours of The TODAY Show which to me, is TOO MUCH I watch GMA mainly b/c of Ginger Zee and the Cast are SO Classy The TODAY Show on the other hand, I don't watch it on Weekdays b/c I can't STAND Matt Lauer after what he did to Ann Curry and Savannah Guthrie is an airhead, IMO and Kathie Lee Gifford is an egomaniac
I wish ABC would revive its daytime game show lineup (dubbed “Daytime Fun & Games”) with the following shows: 10:00am: $ale of the Century 10:30am: Card Sharks 11:00am: Press Your Luck 11:30am: The $100,000 Pyramid (after local news) 1:00pm: Supermarket Sweep 1:30pm: Match Game 2:00pm: The Mad Dash 2:30pm: Family Feud
This is way before he was a contestant on "Greed", where he was the only person to win $1 Million in the "Million Dollar Moment", dated back to February 11th, 2000!!
They changed the format because no one was ever taking a prize from the shopping at the end of the game. People would bank it and come back the next day and very rarely would they get enough to win the prize they wanted so they decided to do it this way, which they should've done to begin with.
Exactly, in addition, the cash prize was no longer a growing jackpot it was set at $50,000. They switched to the winner's big money game again due to budget cuts.
During this show run you had super password with 20-55k every once’s in a while then scrabble in the earlier part giving 20k if you won 10 scrabble sprint rounds then the mark Goodson horrible reincarnation match game Hollywood squares hour 10-30k a show. then sale of the century was not a budgeted show niether that’s why this show format kept changing. well one thing for sure thank god Ralph andrews wasn’t the producer because these contestants would suffer the same rate as those on the 87/88 lingo show he produced and later hosted after not being able to pay mike Reagan his cut for hosting so sotc got lucky that it was produced by reg Grundy
I prefer the shopping one, it was a bit anti-climatic but it added strategy and risk to the front game. For instance, Alice Conkright came in with the strategy of never buying an instant bargain as a result she won the lot in 7 shows, This was good too, but the main game score was no longer as important since all you had to do was win.
A few people have. Not easy though, after you clear, you get the choice leave with everything or risk all the winner's board prizes. Take the risk and win one game: an additional $50,000 cash. Lose and all the winner's board prizes and cash are gone.
Yeah, I've noticed US Sale was always balloon-crazy, although here it makes sense since he won a sizable prize (a car in this case, but they also dropped them for a $10,000 win).
I miss the 80s with all the game shows in the mourning and afternoon.
Yes, me, too

Well at least you have CBS Daytime with The Price Is Right and Let's Make A Deal.
Yes, those were the days.
I wish ABC would revive its daytime game show lineup (dubbed “Daytime Fun & Games”) with the following shows:
10:00am: $ale of the Century

11:00am: Press Your Luck

Back before his air traffic controller headset made his hair go all frizzy :p
He was the best player on greed
Well biggest winner: $1.41 million. $410,000 in his first appearance, then another million when they brought him back for a "million dollar moment".

For the first time ever, Buzzr's airing the Winners Board era
And so does GameTV where it will airing the same episode in its rotation.
One of the things that got annoying about Sale was that they kept changing the rules and end game throughout the run.
winner's board was the best one
NBC had budget cuts, which was mostly out of high-stakes game shows.
I would love to see what he looks like now. He was so handsome. Should be in his late 60s by now.
Three words: Rod Stewart Hair
Watching him in later Game Show appearances such as Greed and Win Ben Stein's Money shows his wild and crazy hairstyle.
Buzzr is airing this tonight
thats curtis from greed and win ben steins money
He moved the projector when he touched the car.
Actually, the balloon drop was what moved the projector.
Sale of the Century is still trying out which bonus game works best.

loved this guy/show. Sound quality is terrible, too low
Has anyone ever cleared the entire board before?

@@marcpower4167 But the front game prizes are not in jeopardy
$ale of the Century - Curtis wins the Car

2:15 KILLED that balloon! What'd it ever do to him?
I don't know about you, but shouldn't they normally save the balloons for their final night?

pre hair
Well, he was in the service.
Why did announcer Jay Stewart leave the show in early 1988?
I think he passed away because of suicide, I'm not sure.
@@douglasghiz1287 Jay RETIRED in early 88. Then committed suicide in Sept 89.
@LittleRockElevators my understanding he never got over her death. Plus he developed back problems believed to be from carrying heavy trays on lmad.
2:14 CURTIS WARREN, LOOK AT THE MESS YOU MADE!
