If you have rooted or installed a custom recovery then it will not be the same. This is stock only. There is also a chance of carrier devices having this feature locked.
I restarted my HTC M8 & its showing 'Android is starting ...Optimizing app' repeatedly, even after optimizing all the apps. Pressing power button & lower volume key isn't working. Btw, I had this problem a few weeks back & finally the battery discharged. After charging it, I pressed the power button & lower volume key & did the factory reset. Please advice what do I do now?
You should still be able to get to the bootloader. get it to where the phone is completely turned off. Then start with holding volume down and power to get into bootloader mode.
hi dude, I have an unroot, s-on htc one mini 2 but it is soft-brick now (i did not do anything :/ ).I want to recovery or factory reset but i can not. when i press volume up+power button it says me can not install cw not found data something like that. what should I do please help asap. thanks
This is for non rooted devices running on the stock recovery. Typically when you have root access you have a custom recovery that helped you get root access so this recovery shown would have been overwritten.
ApexPredation I tried Htc recovery program the 2nd time worked . thaks though I havent rooted since Tmo G1 and god things have changed. I couldnt figure out how to get wifi to work to push it through adb and kept bricking.it :/ to afraid to try again haha thanks for even replying though! first one :)
good to hear that you got it sorted. Rooting and the likes have definitely change a bit since the G1, but once you get the hang of it it's not as challenging as it seems. It's also a bit easier to recover if you seem to be bricked. like you found. if you can see the bootloader screen chances are you can recover in some way or another. I recommend lots of reading through XDA, and perhaps trying again when it's your backup device. I actually still haven't rooted my M8 surprisingly, I am waiting to see what happens with Lollipop.
ApexPredation I was a master at the G1. Making sd cards have partitions makiong it run different speeds it was glorious. But this will happening all before work and i was freaking out. haha and ive been on xdA for many years. I am surprised you havent all i really want is different led colors and 1080p youtube so other then that really no point in rooting the m8. But so happy they made it easier since htc made it "legal" :)
I've been on XDA for quite a while bit I don't post very often. Normally any questions I have are already asked and answered in the threads before I have a chance to ask. As for the Notification LED, we can't change the colors. Accoding to HTC It's only green and red. No blue. With UA-cam only videos that are posted in 1080p will be played as such also it depends on your current band with. When I'm on WiFi or a good 4GLTE connection I get 1080p streaming on my M8 no root needed, but when on 3g or hspda or on a slow WiFi it won't let me see 1080p. I believe that's on UA-cam to give us a smooth video experience.
I have flashed my stock recovery back I was rooted with TWRP recovery, but even after flashing I am still rooted, I get all these screen same as on your videos, but I have not done a factory reset, would be remove my root after I do it? Am I on a right recovery if I get these all screen?
going back to stock recovery doesn't remove root, you need to run a RUU/stock Rom in which you do need to be on the stock recovery for that...or S-off. I recommend searching for the "Un-root guide" for your model on XDA Forums they normally have very detailed information on how to do it. Only doing a factory reset normally won't get rid of root and there is a slight chance of causing problems.
+noyel baby the only thing I can recommend is to search on XDA Forums to see if there is a return to stock tutorial. not all devices have that. sometimes there is a RUU that you can run on your computer to return it to stock but you normally won't find it on HTC's sites.
How can I get stock recovery and lock the bootloader I want to give my device to warranty It's rooted unlocked bootloader and s-off HTC__J15 / MID : 0P6B10000 middle east "Egypt" thanks in advance
Typically it's a matter of running the proper RUU but I don't have that information. I recommend reading up on XDA forums and make sure you are downloading the right one for your CID.
Totally useful,
Thank you very much fir the great effort :)
You're welcome.
Hey ApexPredation is my impression or the sensor near the front camera on your device is on?Is it Rooted?
It is on. I think it might be for the auto answer feature. I am not rooted everything is stock and locked.
But mine is not on like yours,do you know why ApexPredation

Thank you for the video 👍
Thanks for the video. Mine is HTC One M8x. What's the difference between yours and mine?
I think the M8x is the Asia version with a slightly higher cpu clock, but I'm not 100% on that.
whats that blue light which blinks next to the front camera?
oh that's the infrared light for the proximity sensor. It's only visible through my camera.
Does it work if I wanna make a downgrade?? I updated to android 6 and I want my 4.4.4 android stock again
Doesn't work with me

And if I accidentally factory reset my device how do I get my stuff back!?? Please help
What if stuck in boot lop and can't uncheck fast boot?

Help i have HTC One mini 2 and i got twrp on it and when i went to install latest update for the system it keeps going to twrp can you help me out?
+noyel baby having the same problem here +ApexPredation
you cannot install OTA updates when you have a custom recovery on your device. You must be full stock to get updates from HTC.
What can I do if my stock isn't on HTC devs website what shall I do ?
+noyel baby the only thing I can recommend is to search on XDA Forums to see if there is a return to stock tutorial. not all devices have that. sometimes there is a RUU that you can run on your computer to return it to stock but you normally won't find it on HTC's sites.
+ApexPredation it seem that my phone type RUU is not on the site but thank you for your help
