Outstanding job on your ‘94 F150 Lightning build! That Colorshot Red looks the part! Definitely a bummer that your kit had that damaged wheel but I am glad those spare rims worked out! They definitely compliment that truck very nicely!
Thanks! I'm not sure, but I think that Colorshot paint is close to a Ford factory color if I recall correctly. I have another one of these in the stash, and I'm a bit curious whether or not it has a bad wheel as well.
@@scaleautoguysworkbench It really look pretty close. I’ve been looking for ColorShot paints here at my local Walmart but to no avail, have yet to find any.
@johngligo4049 According to mycolorshot.com, Walmart, Michael's, JoAnn, and Target are listed as retailers for their paint. You may be able to pick some up at one of these stores. When I made this video Walmart was selling the entire collection of Colorshot paints. Lately, I haven't seen any Colorshot paint at any of my area Walmart's.
Nice build!!!!! I have the same kit that’s been setting on the shelf for a while now. After watching your video I might have to break it out and build my own version!
Thank You! It's a great kit, actually better than I thought it would be initially. Just watch out for the crushed wheels. Not saying that you will have any. Mine was, hopefully, a one off and never will happen to another person. Then again... it is AMT after all. Thanks for watching!
Great looking build and a good slight change of direction when you found the bad wheel. I bet that paint pops in sunlight. Great to watch the master of the orange tube. No one controls the plastic cement like you !
Thank you! It's funny that I didn't catch that bad wheel during the intro, somehow I missed it, but it worked out well in the end. I didn't think to bring that out into the sunshine until I read your comment, so that's what I did and you're correct, it does pop in the sun. I wouldn't call myself the "master of the orange tube". I have been building for over 50 years now. (Wow, I'm getting old!) and the orange tube is the only glue that I have ever used and over the years I have gotten used to how it flows etc. It's like most things, after you use them for a while you get better. As a young builder I was always a bit stingy with the use of the glue, to the point that some of my early builds would often fall apart from lack of glue. So, I guess that set me on the path to greatness? Besides, I really don't know what would happen if I switched to a different glue other than the tube. So, I stick with what I know... Thanks for the great comment!
Thank You! It is an interesting color and I have used it once or twice before. I really liked that Mica powder as well. I have had that for about 15 or so years and had never tried it in clear coat before.
Thank You! I do a little research on every build that I do. Not that I am an over the top, got to get every detail correct kind of builder but I think that it's great to know what colors, inside and out, were available for that particular vehicle. I also download reference images so that I can see the different details in the interior, exterior and under the hood. I don't always get it correct but I get it close. Thanks for watching!
This one is a bit tricky because there's a lot going on with that fan belt assembly. After you get all of the accoutrements attached, it fits quite snugly to the front of the engine. Just line up the pin from the fan to the water pump and then the bottom pulley to the crankshaft. It takes a little bit of test fitting to get it in place. That a/c pump piece barely clears the valve cover. The entire assembly will eventually go into place with some patience. Good luck!
@@johnguevin7523 The directions aren't very clear on how that entire unit goes together. When I was doing the test fitting I had the thing upside down and I was trying to figure out what I was doing wrong. I hope that you got it together now.

Turned out great, color looks awesome!

Very cool thanks for sharing 🙂
Thank You! and thanks for watching!
Looks great. 😊
Thank You!
Great build and nice wheel substitute!
Thank You! It's a shame that I had to swap them out but I like the wheels I used better than the ones that came in the kit.
I’ve built one, that’s a great kit by AMT👍
Surprisingly, it really is a great kit from AMT
I’ve been working on this but am at a loss on where the fan belt assembly attaches to the engine.

I had the fan belt assembly put together wrong lol.
