@@weshammer Actually, they aren’t always mutations. In the Night Lords trilogy, tusks are mounted onto the helmets of captured suits of loyalist Terminator armor.
The Scarab Occult are awesome, one of my favorite Astartes units. What you mentioned about them seeming to operate like a hive mind is actually somewhat literal. The Thousand Sons deliberately organized all of their squads - Scarab Occult and otherwise - to include a mix of Cults so that they would have access to a variety of powers in battle. One of the Five Cults, the Athanaeans, were telepaths; in battle, they could create a mental link between the members of the squad, connecting their minds together so that they would all think as one, and all of them would be aware of everything each member saw or heard. Combine that with a Corvidae squad member who can see the future, and you've got a squad of Marines or Terminators that is the next best thing to omniscient. This is one reason why it was so important for the Sekhmet to operate in that enlightened state, free of emotion; only if you are sufficiently detached from your idea of self can you allow yourself to be entirely subsumed by a collective like that. Of course now after the Rubric it's rather different. In addition to dusting the majority of the Legion, it actually empowered the abilities of the Sorcerers who survived, and now all of them have access to basically all the Cult powers, although many still show preferences for the abilities of their old Cults. So now instead of that flawless teamwork, now you have one super-powerful sorcerer directly controlling a bunch of automatons with his brain. Still a hive mind, just a different kind.
"although many still show preferences for the abilities of their old Cults" and that wasnt exactly by choice. Acult is basically a way of thinking or philosophy. They cant exactly change it. Yeah, sure the Astartes who don the terminator armor are nigh-invincible. What are their chances against a Cadian guardsman with a melta-gun, or if a Sly Marbo decides to enter the Warp?
The Red Butchers got even more horrific for me after watching Oculus Imperia’s video on the Iron Hands’ Assault on Bodt: not only were traitorous World Eaters entombed in those terminator suits, but so were loyalists from Istvaan, consumed by their maddened fury at their betrayal in a manner not unlike a Blood Angel consumed by the Black Rage. Only this time, Horus really IS surrounding you..
The Night Lords members have some of the most tragic backstories. Children becoming killers and cannibals to survive the horrific situation that reappeared after the Night Haunter left. Jago, haunted and in pain from his powers. Killing other boys to feed the crows he lived with and eating what the crows left of them. Kellenkir, forced to grow up and take care for his brother Kellendvar. Having to kill, cook, and eat other children to live. Being in constant fear that they'll be found by others and killed. Living like that while seeing the rich aristocracy feasting and living lavish lives, doing what they want because they had money and power. The Night Lords are some absolutely brutal and despicable bastards, but it's strange the amount of sympathy you can have for them when you read how they had to grow up. I really hope you do a deep dive into the Night Lords, on the surcafe they are just brutal and sadistic murderers, but if you scratch the surface they are usually quite tragic.

The Crux Terminatus is rumored to contain a minuscule shard of the Emperor’s personal armor. Therefore, losing a suit of terminator armor with its Crux Terminatus to the forces of chaos must be viewed as the ultimate blasphemy.
Tyrants deserve their own rules in 40k!! I desperately need to be able to punish a squad with a barrage of rockets and punishing bolter fire! Iron Within!
I assumed Obliterators were chaos Terminators that fused into their suits, along with additional devastating munitions. Can anyone confirm if they were once Terminators?
Some were, but others weren’t. Obliterators are created when a Chaos Space Marine gets the technovirus, and then they fuse with their power armor and weapons, leading to the later stages of technovirus mutation. If a Chaos Space Marine doesn’t take off their armor frequently enough, it will merge with them and they will become Obliterators, which is something that can happen to Terminators.
Speaking as an insane Irish man with a rather large degree of skill at defensive warfare in strategy games, I would deadass build the best defensive fortifications possible and dare those Tyrant Seige Terminators to come in after me just so I could see if I could defeat them.... 90% sure I'd die horrifically but I'd still try it.
Got 1 thing wrong there Wes, cataphractii terminator armor fell more out of use due to materials. Cataphractii was the tankiest armour but limited the wearers movement, Tartaros armour was made to give more mobility but sacraficing survivability but it was still costly to make. Then the imperium switched to Indomitus pattern terminator armour since it was cheapest to manufacture, but offered the least protection and was used in large numbers by the Imperial fists during the heresy. Only legion to field them during the Heresy actually.
Love the video! Please do the Alpha Legion Lernaean Terminators and the emperor's children Phoenix terminators! Thank you so very much for the deep dive into terminators!

Super enjoy this video, especially since I am personally in love with the Thousands Sons, and the Scarabs are literally gorgeous in both lore and especially design.
I find it really rather amusing that despite Angron being gifted ascention to a Deamon Prince, a literal embodiment of unconstested rage & fury, Khorne still left the Butchers Nails in. Y'know, just in case,
My favourite were the Sekhmet/Scarab Occult. I play Thousand Sons in HH so was refreshing to hear a bit of lore about them. Would love to see a deep dive about the legion itself.
I feel like 'deployment' of the Red Butchers would entail the ship they are on making a low-pass over a planet, and the chains holding them to the roof would be released, and they'd just air-drop them onto some hapless people and turn on their power mid-fall XD
5:30 this red butcher scenario with the joints locking reminded me of what happened to iron man a few times in the comics. One time in space, one time with super humans with the extremis virus (comic version of extremis) and another time during tom taylor's dark ages run, It also remind me of the spring lock animatronic suits from FNAF.
I really wish you done an outtake or something where you kept attempting that tongue twister. Also, my favourite Chaos Terminators are the Red Butchers. They are so nastily awesome.
More please!! I like the Iron Warriors’ terminators Definitely wanna see if the termies of the Imperial Fists would make your list, no particular reason why other than they’re my favorite loyalist marines
Night lords are just the best. I really cant wait for a full dive into there lore been waiting ever since I found this UA-cam account. And just this little piece of them was awesome😁😁😁😁. I love 40k.
The tyrant siege power armor rules. I would definitely trade in the massive amount of rockets for some guidance systems but otherwise that would be the suit of power arm right where.
Definitely interested in learning more about the lore of The Butcher's Nails (IMO one of the most horrific inventions of mankind in the 40K universe) and The One Man Army (Cuz he's awesome).
You should read angron's Primark novel. The butcher's nails are pretty much the entire plot line of that book. And it's a novella so it doesn't take too long to read through it. I listened to the audio version on audible and the narrator was pretty good.
Ugh I can't imagine how insanely painful it would be to have the nails and then being forced to stay still within unpowered armor for months or years at a time...

Those 20min felt like 5, keep up the good work
The Crux Terminatus is rumored to contain a minuscule shard of the Emperor’s personal armor. Therefore, losing a suit of terminator armor with its Crux Terminatus to the forces of chaos must be viewed as the ultimate blasphemy.
Khan and Russ calling the Thousand Sons soulless automaton
Big E: looking at his beloved custodes nervously
Lol love the honesty about the retakes for that tonge twister😂😂
The Red Butchers are the best. I would really like to see the follow up video with the rest of the Chaos terminators. Thanks for sharing!!!
I am surprised the Justaerin never made it in, they are pretty special terminators. I enjoyed the info though, Kudos!
The Tyrant are the best followed immediately by the Deathshroud! Please make the follow up video, this one was great!
I love the scarab occult. Such a unique termi rollout
Tyrants deserve their own rules in 40k!! I desperately need to be able to punish a squad with a barrage of rockets and punishing bolter fire! Iron Within!
One of the rare occasions where a headline in UA-cam with the word "INSANE" in it is completely accurate reportage.
about to start assembling the Scarabs...
man the feels rn, I will really give them special love and attention
I assumed Obliterators were chaos Terminators that fused into their suits, along with additional devastating munitions. Can anyone confirm if they were once Terminators?
Obliteratior virus works on everything so
Some were, but others weren’t.
Aren't they tech marines that have a technology virus
@@mrbearbear83 you need terminator armor and above to count as a obliterator
@@averageeughenjoyer6429there’s nothing stating you need terminator armor to be an Obliterator. Literally nothing.
I'm Welsh. I'll loan you a titan for your experiment.
I'm Canadian. I'll send bacon and maple syrup, by dogsled.
I’m American. I’ll send you as many rhinos, guardsmen, and bad ideas as you please
As a fellow irishman I'd happily lend my bannermen
Fucking imperial fists
Got 1 thing wrong there Wes, cataphractii terminator armor fell more out of use due to materials. Cataphractii was the tankiest armour but limited the wearers movement, Tartaros armour was made to give more mobility but sacraficing survivability but it was still costly to make. Then the imperium switched to Indomitus pattern terminator armour since it was cheapest to manufacture, but offered the least protection and was used in large numbers by the Imperial fists during the heresy. Only legion to field them during the Heresy actually.
Great Video as always, though I do expect you to calm down and take a break.
Love the video! Please do the Alpha Legion Lernaean Terminators and the emperor's children Phoenix terminators! Thank you so very much for the deep dive into terminators!
Ah yes, the Night Lords: the only Legion to seriously consider using Terminators on logistical and non-combatant targets
Death guard Graveguard are my favourite terminators.
I'd love to see a video on how - or even if - chaos astartes are utilizing new captured primarus armour.
Do another, please. Tactical Dreadnought Armour is my favourite; tanky-tanky smashy-smashy!
And a couple about the special loyalist termies would rock.
awesome terminators. I would love to hear your thoughts about the Legion of the Damned one time...
Love the justerin in the sekhmet part!
Yeah, there was an upsetting lack of Terminator art on the internet. When I was making this. I had to get a little creative 😅
I want the Phoenix Guard/Noise Terminators for 9th Edition 40k Emperors Children! I had Noise Teminators in Eye Of Terror campaign era 3rd/4th Edition I want them back
Supposedly,The Dark Mechanicus can still make Terminators but they usually end up being Daemon Possessed
Maan please never ever stop, your videos are by far my favorites and i have watched all of them multiple times
I would love to see an Iron Butchers, Terminator!
I'd imagine a Tyrant equiped with something like a Chain Axe, Heavy Flamer, and a Missile Launcher?
Super enjoy this video, especially since I am personally in love with the Thousands Sons, and the Scarabs are literally gorgeous in both lore and especially design.
you just made me want a kit for each of the five terminators you've mentioned.
Scarab Terminators didn't exist back when I tried to play Thousand Sons.
How do they compare to other terminators?
Could you do a video on Loyalist Terminators?
5:30 this red butcher scenario with the joints locking reminded me of what happened to iron man a few times in the comics. One time in space, one time with super humans with the extremis virus (comic version of extremis) and another time during tom taylor's dark ages run,
It also remind me of the spring lock animatronic suits from FNAF.
Great return brother Weshammer!🤘😈🦑🤘
Im so happy to see the amount of growth this channel has had
“no the thousand sons terminators are like robots agdnfrjfhdjd.”
“yeah, but we didn’t pull a ferrus and run at the traitors did we?”
I really wish you done an outtake or something where you kept attempting that tongue twister. Also, my favourite Chaos Terminators are the Red Butchers. They are so nastily awesome.
Man, Deathguard always sound so ridiculously OP. Just being near them even without being wounded causes lethal disease? Feels a bit ridiculous.
NIGHT LORDS DEEP DIVE!? F*CK YEEEAAAH!
As always. Watching this was a pure pleasure. Thx for great content.
I love your videos and they are great to learn about 40k
With every video I watch, I know I’m a true to chaos!!!
More please!!
I like the Iron Warriors’ terminators
Definitely wanna see if the termies of the Imperial Fists would make your list, no particular reason why other than they’re my favorite loyalist marines
Really great and unexpected topic, thanks
Night lords are just the best. I really cant wait for a full dive into there lore been waiting ever since I found this UA-cam account. And just this little piece of them was awesome😁😁😁😁. I love 40k.
The tyrant siege power armor rules. I would definitely trade in the massive amount of rockets for some guidance systems but otherwise that would be the suit of power arm right where.
Came here for the 40K lore..
Left feeling so happy that death knight got his upgrades!
@@weshammer my dude. Thank you so much! 👊🏻
"Because it's my video and think they're near" - "I do what I want, suck it."
Bro imagine if the chapter master of the space sharks Tiberos of the red wake was a traitor. Holy shit wouldn't that be scary as shit
Ugh I can't imagine how insanely painful it would be to have the nails and then being forced to stay still within unpowered armor for months or years at a time...
you GOTTA do the rest of the legion termies!
If you ever do the Night Lords deep dive, It will be awesome, with your lore telling it will be legendary.
The Emperor's Children are the only ones dedicated to a specific god of Chaos to not get a spot. LOL RIP
I thought it was going to be a video about individuals. Atramentar better be number one. Just got to number one. Yeyyy
