Calibration cat is finally printing right without any screwups in the first five minutes. First successful-looking print in weeks. Thanks for your straightforward tutorial, Greg.
its 2025 and I appreciate the help. Had an ender 3 for 3 months now and it was time to level it but I forgot how to and was really struggling. Thanks to your video its back working on prototypes for me. Thank you so much!!
Glad I found this, clearest, best lesson. I was struggling with my Crs 10 Pro, and having to adjust z babysteps almost every print. Followed along, and now it's printing perfect
I’ve had the same experience as many others here. I am strong enough to admit that after my printer started to successfully print after many hours of late night troubleshooting and anger I shed a tear of relief. Damn good teaching. My prints are more accurate and detailed that ever before. (Running a ender 3 pro with a direct drive head from creality and the cr touch as well) I just wanna say thank you for taking the time to post quality and instructive content on your channel.
Thanks man, you rock. I was trying to set up my brand new ender 3 s1 for the first time, and I was having a hard time. Your video was perfect and helped me start my first print.
Great video! I love how much detail you put into every step. It makes me confident that you're not skipping over anything. You could have easily skimped out on several parts but didn't.
Thanks Gregg! I followed your instructions to the letter and have an amazing first print with the CR Touch on my (used) Ender 3! Dude I really appreciate the speed and simplicity you explained the entire process and had just got the CR touch to do 6 big prints for my little brothers birthday present and the first segment of the Stratocaster guitars body came out perfect! Thank You So Much!

no, because it doesn't allow YOU to be the tool. Nothing better than you. Once you get that "feel" down, this process is a cake walk that you can do in 2 seconds. I strongly recommend doing it with paper.
@3DRundown Huh, a .006 feeler gauge is just as bendable as paper. I currently don't have my BL touch connected as I'm waiting for my Duet 3 mini wifi board to show up so that I can upgrade my Makergear M2. My build plate is a .250 Mic6 Aluminum plate, so it's pretty flat. I have just alway had better luck getting a good 1st layer with a feeler gauge.
This video really helped me re-calibrate my ender pro - it had a weird error were it thought it was +0.003 so it could never be at 0! Restoring failsafe worked and with your instruction it is printing away :) Thanks you!
At the end where we adjust the baby z step and store the new z offset, is there a need to create a new mesh with this new z offset or does it not matter?
Yes. You need your Tramming to be as good as possible. Your ABL should only have to compensate for minor differences in your tramming. A cars shocks can handle a bumpy road, but a well paved road is a better ride. Also, CR-Touch doesn't handle Z-Offset at all, that's on you.
@ hey I took everything off ( for the touch) now the z axis doesn’t auto home anymore. Do I have to install a different software now ? ( I installed the cr touch software for my ender 3 )
You would install a firmware that doesn't support BL-TOUCH. And to use the CR-TOUCH, you would install firmware that DOES support BL-TOUCH. I Would do THAT
Perfect explanation. You have a talent! Thanks a lot for sharing. I'm just starting to use an Ender 3 pro given to me by a friend. This is going to help me dearly. 🥰🤩
I stored all my settings like said in the video & heard the beep but after turning the printer back on & hitting load I can't tell if anything happens. How do you know it's actually being stored & loaded?
Really nice video and I might just buy one of these sensors (I saw your other videos) to try to get this going. My success rate on prints is 20-30% and inconsistent where it will work and then fail the next time with absolutely nothing changed. Hopefully these instructions (which were very clear with no time wasting) will help solve that. Well done.
😂 maaaaaan I came here thinking Sweet auto bed leveling???? Dude pulls off a sheet of paper and all my hopes are instantly crushed.. imagine I had to use a sheet of paper to auto bed level my Prusa 😂
@workingTchr well they don't call it and "ender" for nothing 🤣 kidding...but im ready to return my ender 3 s1 already. The damn thing ends up warping in the middle of a print and I have to adjust on the fly, which means I can barley ever leave my prints unmonitored 😥 well at least not for the 1st hour or so but even then. For instance I just ran a 64hr run and it did all kinds of odd stuff, looked good then had to adjust, it broke 2 supports for some holes which I actually got glued back on properly so I saved it...but yea at 60c it seems to change gap throughout the print.
My printer flashes the number and a "?" for the z axis on the info screen and doesn't want to move down for the bed leveling process, Do you know how i can fix that?
For some reason after following this video to a tee, ive been having a issue all night and been trying to figure it out, my printer will now freeze 2-3 seconds into a print now since installing a CR touch im not sure if its a firmware issue or whats the deal but i cannot figure it out
Check all the cabling. Be sure nothing is shorted, and no connector is HALF IN. Consider a better firmware, such as one from these guys: marlin.crc.id.au/
At 5:21 you indicate to keep adjusting (negatively) until the nozzle gets close enough to create tension on the paper. I noticed your LCD indicates a negative value. When I scroll the wheel mine will only go to 0.00 and not allow a negative value and I am still too far above the paper. Any ideas?
I have the same machine and leveler installed but every time I go to print as soon as it warms to temperature a piercing alarm comes from the machine and the only way to stop it is by turning the whole machine off. There is no error code on the display, I have installed the software and it runs the self-test, and the purple light comes on. I can't find any information on the reason for this alarm. I am stuck, and can't print, please advise. Thank you
I'm having a real hard time getting the results you are on my E3Pro with bl touch. When i auto home and use the paper to figure out the z_offset, i ebter it on the printer but it clamps the paper down hard with the same number i had on move axis. Went the discrepancy?
Hello Gregg, I think I might have a glitchy unit (cr touch). after doing an auto home ( and lowering the bed) when I go to the z offset, I cannot lower my hotend to 0.00. It stops at a positive number. I have tried over and over and keep getting a different z offset? Have you ever heard of anything like this?
put in new springs this evening, now I get -0.2 for initial offset after auto home, I guess that is better? I followed your video exactly, I will stick at it. Thank you for making this video
Been having issues with my filament sticking to the bed. Doesn’t stick at all. I do not have an auto leveling printer. It’s an ended pro. I can not create a mesh. My glass has a dip in the middle. Probably my issue
After installing the cr touch firmware, it glitches out when trying to select a print from TF card and freezes mid print. Didn't have these issues before.
I have watched this video with great success in the past when I purchase my bed leveller and the video is fantastic. I have change my base to a gold one which I had no luck with adhesion so I am back to the original black one and need to re level. But today I have had no success. I have set the Z like you have mentioned like I have done in the past but now it is printing in the air. I cannot understand what I have done wrong . I have set it 3 times watching the video. any suggestions as what I am doing wrong . Thank you
Textured PEI sucks for ashesion. GLASS is far superior, or, SMOOTH PEI. SMOOTH PEI has very easy bed adhesion. Your bed will need to be SUPER CLEAN. On Glass, use Hairspray, or Bambu Lab Green Adhesive. It's AMAZING. CLEAN: ua-cam.com/video/bfPm7BGjfdM/v-deo.html Z-OFFSET Test: ua-cam.com/video/veZB415QHM0/v-deo.html
Z-OFFSET, is the distance between the nozzle and the print bed DURING PRINTING. So, that is critical. Work on it, with me here: ua-cam.com/video/veZB415QHM0/v-deo.html
Sorry if I missed this - after running through this, how do you maintain the bed level? Do you just let the CR Touch run it's autobed level procedure again?
Your knobs should stay put, and should not reauire adjustment often. Minor changes, can be resolved by running another ABL. I would only run an ABL again, if you see a need too.
Awesome videos. Question.. In the video your ender homes in the center..mine is doing that now. How can i adjust that to make it home on the left side where it belongs?
My z offset doesn't move when i try to set it. It applies the changes when it starts a print a d its crashed into the bed plate and i have no clue how to fix it.
What do you mean home is to the left? It showed it homed in the middle as well as my ender 3 s1 homes in the middle....I'm having so many issues trying to get this going right 😭
@@3DRundown just can't seem to get the Gao right and when I get it working good enough that 1st layer is decent, it seems to change Gao distance in the middle of a print and starts dig6in to the layer as it is printing. I'm about to follow this guide of yours to the T as it is slightly diff than others I've seen that l don't seem to be working, or my bed is so F'd up and warps as it prints. But I just got a glass bed so about to give this a go.
@3DRundown I appreciate your help, I did all of what you said and still had issues. Nozzle changed the gap and dug into my model after 31hrs🙄 so I took that back and got a bambu ps1, so wish me luck!
Thanks for the guide! An issue I've been having is after I move the Z Axis (+0.7), when I got to configure the Z-offset, it ends up moving the extruder up. End result is that when I'm printing, the extruder is pretty far up off the bed. Any idea on what's going on?
Is it possible to only do the z offset without spinning the wheels? I don't know why I mean I'm following you but I don't feel I'm getting it completely, If my prints are dead center they print great but a helmet that takes the intire bed fails in minutes.
Z Offset is done last, after manual tramming is done. Do the paper method. Then the Z Offset last, to get the nozzle height down. Your problem sounds like a Tramming or ABL issue. Are you using the gcode for abl/
@3DRundown, I just brought a creality Ender 3 (not pro, max, or v2) and this is my first 3d printer. Does this method work for all the creality printers or are there specific steps for each one? Thank you for your help! I found your videos very straightforward and informative.
The manual method will be exactly the same. a 3 MAX is bassicaly a large Ender 3. See if you can put a CR-TOUCH on it. Depends on the board, but it's SO worth it...
Hey when I click on "level bed" my BL Touch goes of the plate on the front left corner and stops the prozess because he can't find the bed. Any ideas how to fix it?
@@3DRundown I tried some settings yesterday and I definitely think the probe offset is wrong. How do I find the right measurements? I got the printer used and the bl touch was installed. I'm a newbie and never had a 3D printer before😅
you give the best instructions! Thank you! Unfortunately I must be some kind of simpleton. When it comes to tuning it as its printing, my printer wont adjust the numbers. its like its stuck there when it goes into print mode. Any idea why that may be?
Hi. Thank you. 🙏🏼🙏🏼 I assume You're trying to adjust the Z Offset. Be sure you are switching the screen to the Z-Offset setting. Only then will it move. I'll link you to an excerize to practice
Hi Gregg, great video. I hope you can help. I am having troubles with my CR touch on my Ender 3 Pro, i followed this video and can't even get past the auto home part due to my proble flashing red and not deploying in blue. I have a video on my youtube channel showing the issue, thank you for any advice!
Ender 3 and Max are virtually the same. So, YEP, follow along. Just be sure you have a CR-TOUCH. Install like this: ua-cam.com/video/0Exh5tAN6ok/v-deo.html

Hey i need help with my Ender 3 Pro. Updated to 2.0.8.2 Firmware because the multi languages... but it was stupid... the printer cant find x,y or z! I want to load the old original Verison but every time i try it didnt work... downloaded the firmware from Creality and load it on the sd card... printer is off, put the sd card in and turn the printer on... Printer is starting and starts the new not running Verison can someone help ? I do not know how to continue
Stupid Question. What's the point of the CR touch if you still have to manually level? I've had no issues thus far manually leveling with a standard Z-Axis sensor. I'm not trying to crap on the parade.... But genuinely i need to know why this is an upgrade?
Because only a TRULY LEVEL (TRAMMED) bed, can print a model with consistent parameters. Once the bed is as close to perfectly tram as possible, then, the CR TOUCH will probe the bed, create a map of the inconsistencies (MESH), and then adjust for them while printing. Your 1st layer, at 0.2, is TWO TENTHS OF A MILIMETER. Having that EXACT across the entire bed, is virtually impossible. This will create digs and gaps, in your 1st layer. Your ABL Mesh, will compensate for that, to create a consistent 1st layer. It also gives you FIRMARE Z-OFFSET control. This is critical. You need that, to get your Z-Offset correct. Adjusting your bed or Z-Stop, is how you would have to do it otherwise.
@13.57 when your Z-axis started moving, I noticed that your right side is lagging behind your left one. I suggest you tighten the inner wheel of you right hand side z-axis assembly. I had this issue once and it made some of my prints have major flaws. Otherwise, great video!
Opposite, When there is 3 Max lagging, LOOSEN the right side. Think of it like picking up a long pole from one end. Now, pick up that same pole, with weight at the opposite end...
@@3DRundown not directed twords you in a disrespectful I’m just having the worst time understanding what I’m supposed to be doing my apologies Just realized my what auto correct to wtf
This is the place where frustrated printer users come.... Fear not, if you don't desire to throw your machine out the window, you are doing something wrong. It's just part of the journey. BUT, this part get's easy after some experience. The main takeaway, when paper tramming, is that the paper friction, feels THE SAME in all areas. That consistent rub, is the important part. The exact height, is set by your Z-OFFSET, which is the very last thing you'll do
It's fine to use adult language here. I didn't mean to be hard on you. I just never know who's commig at me. Some peeps come on here, just to talk shit and be nasty. I have to shut that stuff down. Please try this drill, after you think your manual tramming is decent: ua-cam.com/video/veZB415QHM0/v-deo.html
The glass build plate will crash into the back motor on the Ender 3 V2 when you do step 1. Everyone says "Step 1: tighten the knobs, bring the bed as low as possible" Then people reply with what I said above but they never get any help. Does anybody know how to fix this?
The firmware on this video wasn't compatible with my mainboard since it was a GD and so the menu screens are different. I'm having trouble trying to figure them out. Can someone help?
@@3DRundown Yeah, instead of an ST my two mainboard's CPUs are GD. Apparently, ST firmware doesn't work right with GD (i was having file and SD card issues) so I had to download a different one and it's different than this firmware. I think I just might stick with this one and find a workaround
I got an Ender 3 Pro for Christmas and a CR Touch. I have been struggling ever since to get this thing to level and print. I am following your video to the letter, but when I attempt to adjust the z stop offset, it's moving the nozzle down like when I adjusted the z axis. So since my z is set to a negative number close to the bed, when I attempt to put that same number in as the offset, it's moving lower and trying to gouge into the bed. I'm about to just give up. I'm a pretty tech savvy guy, but this thing has me feeling like a complete idiot. Thanks for any help and the great video!
Hi Friend. When you adjust the Z-OFFSET, do not do it from the move screen, do it from the Z-OFFSET screen, then SAVE. No entering that # anywhere. Try this exercise: ua-cam.com/video/veZB415QHM0/v-deo.html
You may be using a third part firmware. Some do call it "PROBE Z OFFSET", and some have a 'Wizard", but, I would suggest doing it manually instead, which your firmware will also have.
@3DRundown I just found the z offset wizard, lets me lower nozzle into negative numbers until it touches the bed, this is the x factor that gets entered into the z offset. It worked!
@3DRundown Probably. I stumbled on a different video that covered that, before I saw this video. Needless to say, that video didn't cover what this video did. Long story short, I'm up and printing now. Many thanks.
Did not work for me, I’ve tried over and over again and when I start to print it grinds my pei sheet. My pei sheet is now destroyed! I’ve tried multiple tutorials and I don’t know wtf is happening! I keep getting errors when trying to create a bed level mesh and it never finishes.
This works. There is no debating that. If you are grinding into your bed, your Z-HEIGHT (Z-OFFSET) is too low. Start higher, and bring it down during a 1st layer, so you can get it right. If your mesh is failing, your CR-TOUCH may be defective. Consider swapping it out. Try this Z-OFFSET exercise: ua-cam.com/video/veZB415QHM0/v-deo.html Be sure you are using the correct gcode: ua-cam.com/video/mKvst6qpkPw/v-deo.html
It's OK. This kinda stress is a right of passage, for getting started in 3D Printing. We'll get you there. Which machine are you on? Consider seeing if any of this applies to you: ua-cam.com/video/pP36ozrfRQ0/v-deo.html
@@3DRundown well here’s the thing, I’m on my original Ender 3 pro that I’ve had for the last 4 years but like everyone else I got the upgrade bug and went ham. Upgraded bushings, pei bed, skr mini e3 v2.0, tft35 v3.0 touchscreen, cr touch, dual z axis, direct drive, and just had help getting a custom marlin firmware after I bricked my skr mini e3 v1.2. This upgrade has been a year in the making and I’m about to lose it wishing I never upgraded 😫
You'll notice something here on my channel. I almost never talk about "Upgrades". I am a fulltime 3D printer, with 40 machines, and they are all almost entirely stock. Upgrades usually lead to problems. Most troubled posts online start with "I upgraded to..." "I installed"..... Textured PEI beds SUCK. Put your glass back on. Dual Z isn't needed for such a small machine. Not even for the 300x300 machines.... such as the E3 MAX. Unless it's a Sprite SE, 3rd party DD are usually a pain. CR-TOUCH is a must. You def want that. Save your stress, and grab an Ender 3 SE or KE, and be printing in 20 min.
Gregg adventure awesome video for the older model of the ender. Great information on leveling the build plate.can I do that or something like that on my ender3 v3 se

Always a good idea to go over as much as possible. Also, things often vibrate loose over the long shipping trip from China. Especially on older machines
Great Tutorial! Instant like! Solved 4 days of me trying to do it on my end in just an hour XD. While doing this, for some reason I changed my firmware and removed by mistake the Bed Leveling option, any chance to share the one that you are using right now? Once the nozzle touches the paper, the thickness of the paper needs to be added to the number you get. Regular paper is 0.1mm. The offset in this case is -3.8mm.
What firmware do I need if I take off the cl touch….I can’t figure it out, it keeps losing the settings even after I saved them. Then Curo sliced the file, but couldn’t add to the sd card, not sure what to do.
I would never use an Ender without a CR-TOUCH. If you did. Flash a Firmware that does not mention a BL-TOUCH. If it doesn't mention it, it's made for use without it. When exporting a gcode from Cura. You are creating a GCODE file. Just copy that to the SD Card. If the card won't let you copy too it, maybe the card is Junk. Use a good quality card, 32GB or less.
Also, just found out the card reader is messed up on the printer itself. I clicked it in and out and on the 10th time it finally recognized it. Thanks again for all your input. Going to get a V3 SE, that way it’s built in. Hopefully I can figure it out.
No way broski. Loosen up the bed, take a day off. Grab a coffee, start again. This is part of the journey. Once you get it down, it's easy going forward
@@sharmrenex736I'm feeling like you most days and I've been at it for 2+ years, it seems I get it and then..I don't 😢 but he's right just take a break keep thinking and take what works and try new directions. Sorry for the late answer I didn't see the comment😅 my problem is while printing when I go to tune the only option is z baby steps. I can go to configuration while printing and there I can change probe Z offset but this doesn't move the Axis. Babysteps Work but I don't know if I can use it and then add the value to my probe offset. I hope it's understandable. English isn't my first language 😅

Thanks man, you rock. I was trying to set up my brand new ender 3 s1 for the first time, and I was having a hard time. Your video was perfect and helped me start my first print.
Wow this is an excellent tutorial with simple and clear explanations that are easy to follow. Thanks !
Welcome!
Great video! I love how much detail you put into every step. It makes me confident that you're not skipping over anything. You could have easily skimped out on several parts but didn't.
Yo bro,
Fantastic video!
I was fighting 2,5 days to get my Ender 3 Max on the right place.
You help me a lot. Thanks
Max is a great machine! 🔥🔥
Thank you for the clear video directions...my husband and I been watching and learning together... you are awesome
So cool. Very welcome. Great to have you. 🙏🏼🙏🏼
Epic! Love hearing this. Birthday Success!!

Would a feeler gauge be more accurate then a piece of paper. I use a .006 gauge.
no, because it doesn't allow YOU to be the tool.
I prefer paper. ABL is a must, and will make the whole thing easier, as minor issues will be handled by the mesh. It's nice
No. Leave the mesh
Just added a cr touch to my Ender 3 pro. This helped immensely. Thank you. :)
Thanks much. CR-Touch is a must
Thank you so much! I just bought a CR Touch and had no idea what to do but I watched your video and it was so helpful. Thanks so much!
Hands down the best guide ive seen.
Sooo I have to do all this. What’s the point of having the cr touch ? If you still have to level everything
Keep the CR-TOUCH ON. You will lose ABL, and, you will lose Z-Offset control
@ how do I convert it back to normal?
You would install a firmware that doesn't support BL-TOUCH. And to use the CR-TOUCH, you would install firmware that DOES support BL-TOUCH. I Would do THAT
This is great Greg! Your killing it👍🔥
Thanks so much!! Doing my best.
Great video! Really help me troubleshoot my ender pro 3 after banging my head against the wall for a while.
Perfect explanation. You have a talent! Thanks a lot for sharing. I'm just starting to use an Ender 3 pro given to me by a friend. This is going to help me dearly. 🥰🤩
Thank you. I work super hard at this. Welcome to the party! Make sure it has a Cr-Touch on it. Very dependable machine, when used properly. ⭐️
I stored all my settings like said in the video & heard the beep but after turning the printer back on & hitting load I can't tell if anything happens. How do you know it's actually being stored & loaded?
It works..... That's how. 😛
Also, when initiating a print, it should show your stored Z-Offset. *Keep in mind, it's stored on the card*
Well done.
There is exactly ZERO reason, not to use a CR-TOUCH on an Ender. I Wouldn't even think of it. Get one YESTERDAY.
I have the sprite on my Ender 3 pro and when I try to level it won’t let me adjust the Z axis lower than +000.0. PLEASE HELP LOL
Are you using "move"? Have to be in the Z-Offset function (which sometimes called "Probe Z Offset"). Be sure you removed the Z Stop switch
I remember doing that on my Ender endlessly.
5-10 min and should be good for a few months
I never had really consistent results with my ender 3v2. The CR Touch really helped the process quite a bit.
😂 maaaaaan I came here thinking Sweet auto bed leveling???? Dude pulls off a sheet of paper and all my hopes are instantly crushed.. imagine I had to use a sheet of paper to auto bed level my Prusa 😂
What I meant was, I did it "endlessly" until I returned it and got a a printer that didn't require manual bed leveling. I never got it to work right.
Mine goes lower then 0.1mm my lowest is 0.025mm s which one should i continue with?
You can go as low as you need. Do you have your Z-Stop switch removed? (You should)
Saved my life dude lol I was ready to sell
This thing man!
Subb’d most definitely
Epic! Happy to help. Consider a "Super Thanks" to help me keep this going 🤜🏼🤛🏼
was that much trimming necessary when there is probe creating mesh map ?
Yes. You should have it good enough to print without ABL, then run ABL for the minor adjustments
Thank you so much man this video saved my life
You sound a little like H. jon Benjamin. So thanks for the great videos, Mr. Belcher. I salute you.
I will google him later. I salute you back
My printer flashes the number and a "?" for the z axis on the info screen and doesn't want to move down for the bed leveling process, Do you know how i can fix that?
Is the z offset button thing disconnected?
For some reason after following this video to a tee, ive been having a issue all night and been trying to figure it out, my printer will now freeze 2-3 seconds into a print now since installing a CR touch im not sure if its a firmware issue or whats the deal but i cannot figure it out
Check all the cabling. Be sure nothing is shorted, and no connector is HALF IN. Consider a better firmware, such as one from these guys: marlin.crc.id.au/
My hot end won't auto home the y and x axis
What happens when you attempt to home
At 5:21 you indicate to keep adjusting (negatively) until the nozzle gets close enough to create tension on the paper. I noticed your LCD indicates a negative value. When I scroll the wheel mine will only go to 0.00 and not allow a negative value and I am still too far above the paper. Any ideas?
You may be in the MOVE menu. After moving to 0, You'll need to go into the Z Offset setting to set the Z.
Mine doesnt have set z offset in control menu.
Do you have a CR-Touch and ABL firmware installed?
Very helpful and will try this tomorrow. I literally picked up a used Ender 3 Max today and was struggling with this. Fingers crossed.
I love the max. I have 3, and they are my GO TO machines, even with newer ones in my line up.

I’m a bit confused as the last part, my Ender 3 doesn’t have probe z offset in the tuning section but it has baby step. Does that function the same?
Yes
@ thank you for your answer. I’ll try to play around with it.
Thank you
It's likely your thermistor.
Thanks boss, it worked 😄bought a used printer yesterday and it is already set up and printing
Awesome. Welcome to the party!
i cant go negative when using move z
Nope. Only when move Z-OFFSET. "MOVE" and "Z-OFFSET" (or PROBE Z-OFFSET) are not the same function. Look for the menu selection to move your Z-OFFSET.

@@3DRundown thank you for the reply .But still confused as to why I have set the Z-offset my printer keeps printing in the air ?
G28 X Y; home X and Y
GO X10; move 10mm in X
G28 Z; home Z.
My z offset doesn't move when i try to set it. It applies the changes when it starts a print a d its crashed into the bed plate and i have no clue how to fix it.
If it's hitting the bed. It's too low. Raise it and set it during the skirt and first layer.

Welcome
What is an "ABL" Auto Bed Leveling Probe? What it does, Why YOU should have one ua-cam.com/video/yg2zVAakeGU/v-deo.htmlsi=QW_ZXztyRwrdLgmd

Before I start the manual Tramming, then again during the skirt print.
I got an Ender 3 Pro for Christmas and a CR Touch. I have been struggling ever since to get this thing to level and print. I am following your video to the letter, but when I attempt to adjust the z stop offset, it's moving the nozzle down like when I adjusted the z axis. I'm a pretty tech savvy guy, but this thing has me feeling like a complete idiot. Thanks for any help and the great video!

Your SE is trammed at the factory, and uses a Strain Gauge, to set the Z Offset. But the ABL Mesh, works the same
Thanks!

That is true but we all know that the factory sometimes forget to check every printer out there because my build plate was lose on the. So I turned to the 3d community and you
Always a good idea to go over as much as possible. Also, things often vibrate loose over the long shipping trip from China. Especially on older machines
@@3DRundown I have got a ender3 v3 se. Thank you for your help and time.
best tutorial ever
Thanks so much. Huge fan of the E3 Max
Great Tutorial! Instant like! Solved 4 days of me trying to do it on my end in just an hour XD.
While doing this, for some reason I changed my firmware and removed by mistake the Bed Leveling option, any chance to share the one that you are using right now? (Mine is 4.2.2 but the only for creality with BRtoucb comes up in chinese for me even if it says Europe.)

I use these guys for my 3 Max. Donate $2 and you get full access. Worth it. marlin.crc.id.au/
Great tutorial, but damn I got the leveler to avoid some of this messing with the knobs and such..😂
Surprise! 😂😂 I tell you a secret..... The knobs and such, are easy. N00BS make too much out of it. Learn the ropes and you'll be doing it blindfolded
Lots of adjustments for this being automatic.
Tramming is always Manual, in any printer. ABL refers to Automatically building a mesh.
Once the nozzle touches the paper, the thickness of the paper needs to be added to the number you get. Regular paper is 0.1mm. The offset in this case is -3.8mm.
Nah, I only using the paper to get it close, then using actual 1st layer of print, to dial in the final #.
I love you gus have screens i dont haVE....I HAVE NO PREPARE KNOB, NOR DO I HAVE A DISABLE STEPPERS
Which S1? The S1 Pro and + have a Touch screen with different firmware. Follow my S1+ video, if you have a Pro or +
What software version are you using? I can only find 1.1.2 for the ender 3 pro and the new 4.2.7 main board.
I use marlin.crc.id.au/
Whats shit about this process is that you should not need to do the manual levelling with the sensor, even once
Of course you should.

My test dog came out the size of a pea! 🤣
oh no!! Lol. Scale it up!
Somehow I made it worse... I might honestly give up.
No way broski. Loosen up the bed, take a day off. Grab a coffee, start again. This is part of the journey. Once you get it down, it's easy going forward
@@3DRundown I'll keep trying, but now my printer just prints squiggly webs lol.
@@sharmrenex736I'm feeling like you most days and I've been at it for 2+ years, it seems I get it and then..I don't 😢 but he's right just take a break keep thinking and take what works and try new directions. It's frustrating to see how easy it is for other people but they fail to but don't show it, shit..go to my page 90% fails
Do you have a vid on extruder tension?
My Printer was running for month and now I Changed the Nozzle. The Z offset isn't right anymore but I can't get it to move while printing. Any tips?
Your New Nozzle will be a touch higher or lower, than your previous nozzle, so you will need to set the Z-OFFSET after the change. It SHOULD move.
