This is one of the greatest pieces of music ever compiled. And there should really be an emphasis on 'music' because you just don't see anyone trying to create music masterpieces anymore. You could write a catchy chorus and make millions, or you could write something as beautiful as this and really achieve a sense of accomplishment. Forget what genre of music you hail allegiance to and support musical genius when you see it.
I was searching for the myth about Persephone going to the underworld, so I came on this channel by accident. I guess this is faith. So can anyone understand that I am confused because I didn't expect that this exists? I simply bow to the brilliant creators of this masterpiece.
@@ZeldaFanZordecai I think he means that the Guitar sound is too flat and there is only little pogression in a single note, but in my opinion it makes it sound way more "dreamy", something that i really like about this song!

Guys come on... 6:40 What the hell is this? No human can possibly compose this, i can't even properly describe the emotions i get listening to that part... Seriously it's ridiculously good
I refuse to get involved in arguments about bands' (sub)genres. It,s progressive and it's melodic death metal. Split all the hairs you want quantifying the degrees of each; I don't see the point.
right. Its like a melodic death metal song can't have a progressive song structure, or progressive songs cant have melodic death influences or anyhting. The metal community is ridiculous with classification.
I'm not disagreeing with you on the melodic death metal as a whole of the album but this song(s) in particular have a more progressive aura to it. Btw not fighting.
Diego Swine Because the climax is the beautiful chord progression that is played repeatedly and with almost infinite variance, soloed over by drums and guitars before laid to rest with the concluding three piano chords. Insane musical imagery and tonal symbolic captured with such perfection that most of us composers can only dream about. The following part is the only thing that feels out of place in this song: a sort of transition to the second song instead of an integral part of this composition. The feel, the aesthetics and the pace just feels out of place here.
Jouni Koskela Or alternatively, because the track is titled "A Path to Enlightenment", maybe that final keyboard passage serves as the imagery of reaching that enlightenment upon completing "the path". In terms of emotional charge, it works.
Damn, i' m not the only one then, every time i listen this (incredibly beautiful) piece of art and the track is finished, i get back to this part at least 3-4 times!
+strummingpotatoe me too.. I feel like everytime I listen to this album I really want to be a drummer , bcause the drumming really have amazing beat and power and it feels like ready to mosh and bang!!
It IS the best instrumental ever made, but the part at 6:40 must be the most fucking amazing thing I have ever heard, It's like the fucking soul's coming out, wow, fucking wow
Wow this is so good, this band is one of the most powerful thing I've ever heard. Having the infinite pleasure of discovering and listening excessively those types of bands is really one of the thing I love the most in my life.
After some year, still this masterpiece of an album hasn't been reached by any other band of this genre. I really can't wait to hear the new album next year (and see them live again, amazing)
Try out Wintersun, if you dont know them. They are both with Persefone the top level of metal in my opinion, and i don't know a third band that could be compared to them
So, opinions of Aathma? Still Spiritual Migration remains their best work to me, but i love the new album too :D As well as Shin Ken, Core, the next ones and so on haha

easily the best two songs on the album, or should i say the most amazing, because all are the best :D seriously though, this is pure skill of songwriting (even though i think it gets a BIT too much of sweeping sometimes) combined with crystal clear production.
Psh. This amount of sweeping feels like summer vacation compared to Ne Obliviscaris. That's arpeggios and blast beats galore. Def too much for me. Decent music regardless though
Where are their promoters. I have been into death metal for years and this is some pretty good stuff but they need to be more promoted so that everyone can hear their awesomeness
And the best thing is that it is! Look, what we're capable of. And still there are wars and billions of people die cause they can't eat enough or can't get healed... We truly are the best thing and worst thing ever combined
🤔Bit off topic, but wonder if consciousness is beyond experience, or if it's another aspect manifesting within experience experiencing subjective experience.
Consciousness is everything. All that you perceive, all that you think and feel is because you are conscious of it. If there is no consciousness there is nothing. Further too, you are not your body, your mind or whoever you think you are. Even that is perceived by the consciousness that you really are. The same consciousness I am. I get the feeling that many of the new bands have a, let's say, mushed sound (sorry don't now much about sound engineering!), like this song...except for the drum and lead everything else sounds heavily processed and blended at most parts...I can't figure out what's going on in the background. Am I right or it's just me? not saying it's a bad thing at all btw, just curious.
It's definitely an acquired taste, but this band's vocalist is damn good in my opinion. Believe it or not, but I'm extremely picky when it comes to the vocals in metal bands. Some bands might have amazing composition and lyrics, but if the vocals aren't to my liking, I simply can't listen to them.
