Un grande!!!
Bravo!!!
for me he is a Lied. singer,
Amazing!!! Christian Gerhaher, you are amazing!!!
Just magnificent! Thanks a lot for this!
Один из самых интеллектуальных и образованных певцов!
Such a brilliant baritone, but unfortunately the tempi are way off and make it impossible for him to show off his best
Brilliant brilliant brilliant. Of course it is. Gerhaher and Christof Loy - it doesn't get any better.

Er ist ein hervorragender Sänger.
Oh good lord 🙄
I will never make it to understand modern stage directors. Why having the poor Gerhaher in a weak balance on that horrible couch? Why can't we have beautiful stagings like that one by Ponnelle anymore? I agree with the user who complained about the tempi. Gerhaher, the finest barytone on Earth, cannot go along with the conductor.
Agree, contrast the beginning and end of his performance as he loses power trying to balance.
during the staging, there is always a dialog between the director and the singer and usually, if singers feel unconfortable, they say "No"
Eccellente baritono.
He is a great Singer, for German opera and Lied, but for italian repertoire, the vocals are too open, the sound is Wagnerian but not Italian, sorry.
Italian singing is not screaming, , il canto Sul Fiatto non si sente, peccato.
His voice is not for German opera at all. Listen to George London! A great singer all round and 50 times the singer Gerhaher is!
Terrible scene director... Made him look like a mad guacamaya
wie ein verrückter Papagei? 😂🤪😂
I hate this kind of comments. I think no one has the right of speaking so disparagingly of any one, much less of such a great artist like Christian Gerhaher. And I love this magnificent aria and his fine rendition of it.
This is a tenor.
I agree!
Finally! Someone with some criteria! Short/Second tenor. This is not a baritone.
eigenartig, dass ein abgestürzter Tenor so Schwierigkeiten mit den hohen Tönen hat - " e giubilar mi faeaeaeae... " ...
That's hell of a lot of work, and not in a good way. And breathing in the middle of Jubilar like that is something that undergrads don't do...Not my favorite
Christa Ludwig criticised the exact same thing: ua-cam.com/video/C8St0mt6V6E/v-deo.html - 9:40
Thank you for sharing this Karl! My Deutsch is quite rusty, since I haven't sung there in a few years, but this made me work, and in a good way. :)
There is no breath police. He can breathe whenever he needs to.
No voice, whatsoever.
It really irritates me, but I have to agree :)

Nothing to beat Dietrich Fisher Dieskau to sing this aria
@@jawahardeo9000 Fischer-Dieskau? You're joking
A little overly dramatic for my taste.
