Sung beautifully in the iconic voice of Bablu Damami of Bikaner, at Chidderwala in Dehradun, this Kabir bhajan will leave you hopelessly baffled by the 'उलटबांसी' (upside down verse) of Kabir. All things seem possible in this upside-down world of Kabir!
"I am born first and the mother is born last; an ant carries an elephant for her dowry; the baby in the womb speaks but not the child that is born." What does it all mean?
Perhaps it is we, not Kabir, who are looking at the world upside-down, the wrong way round.

O my beloved!
A leaf broke from a branch,
the wind took it away
Now separated, when will we meet again, O lord! We would fall far
I walk immersed in joy, O brother!
True master held my wrist
First of all, I was born, then my brother
With fanfare my father born, followed my mother
First of all, settled the curd, then milked the cow
The world rejoiced the butter, the milker swings in the cradler
The ant walks to in-law’s house,
Holding elephant and horse with reins,
the camel tied at her back
When it was an egg, it spoke
But the hatchling is quite
Says Kabir, listen O seekers! the foolish understands not

"Sang Kabir" aims to restore the sacred nature of human being, the real awakening of our
hearts to peace, love and silence that is always present within. The event binds modern
mystics together, who bring, in their own unique and beautiful ways, an integration of many
spiritual paths. In order to bring laymen in ambit of Kabir’s world, we have tried to embrace
the traditional Satsang culture and develop upon it a holistic model that nurtures Kabira's
teachings. Its a 3 day event, organised at finest destinations with folk musicians, painters
and sculptors, authors and poets, and renowned artists.
"Sang Kabir" is a 3-day music festival, curated for seekers and travellers to embrace the enchanting world of Kabir. The first and successful rendition of "Sang Kabir" was organised at Rishikesh, 22-24 October 2021 in collaboration with Sangrachna Foundation. It’s an extended version of “Rajasthan Kabir Yatra”, a week long travelling folk music festival held annually at Rajasthan, organised by Lokayan Sansthaan, in partnership with Rajasthan Police and Rajasthan Tourism.
