What year is this? I have a 99 Passat wagon 1.8t. how do u get the altenator out without removing the whole front end? Some other videos from this body style 98-05 I believe, show having to remove the front end also I called a couple shops and when they looked it up I got quoted like $500 in labor because they said they had to remove the front end to get to the lower bolt. There's also a couple videos that show them getting to the bolt by the book the hard way like you do. I'm wondering if there's any slight difference in any of the 98-05 years, do you know?
