Please don’t beat yourself up over this. Billy has to learn and from watch him for the last year or so I see a lot of myself in my younger days. The only way he’s going to learn, because he doesn’t really listen to you all the time, is to fall on his face and get embarrassed in front of the world. At some point he will realize that there is a wealth of knowledge in his father, much like you learned that about your father. You are an inspiration to many people and a lot of young fathers I am sure. Keep doing what you’ve been doing and continue to put family, God, and country in front of everyone using your video platform. God Bless You Sir. (ps., That’s coming from a 64 yo Texan!)

We who grew up the “old way” completely understand where you’re coming from when you say “sometimes you have to let them learn the hard way”. We heard this sentiment as kids and didn’t really understand it then. But once you have kids as hardheaded as you (me) you definitely understand it now!! But it will get better and we always learn because it’s not given to us because we learn the hard way. And we kinda appreciate it. On the other hand you’re the tuner of the engine for your program a very important part of the program you’re ability to take your son description of the car and turn it in to carb adjustments is amazing. Same fore his ability to tune the suspension. I love the team and how far you’ve come and stayed. Battles are for the track my friend. Bill, I personally feel that you embarrassed your son and his ability because of your own ego. You should be proud that your son felt confident enough to try and tackle the carb tuning on his own. That I’m itself should have shown you that he felt you taught him enough to try, instead you let him fail and then blast him in a public platform. Again, this is how I feel. Right wrong or indifferent… I will continue to watch all of the SRC channels, because I enjoy the family comradely.

Trust me Bill I went through very similar thing with my father when he was no longer able to help me healthwise at the track I literally had to go fuel injected myself because I knew nothing about tuning a carb and couldn't believe I never took the time to watch him and learn from him tuning it that's why I like your channel so much it reminds me of how I started with my dad I got a lot of respect for you older tuners I know it's not easy because I burnt up both engines in one month before I had to go fuel injected because I couldn't afford to keep burning up engines learning on my own I really wish I took the time to learn from my dad and he still has that time to learn if he wants but it's also not a bad idea to think about switching to fuel injected it would make it a lot easier on both of your lives I promise and he's always going to have a need for you to be there whether he admits it or not trust me I would give anything to have my dad backing me up making sure I'm in the groove again

Bill, Thank You for sharing the WW-II museum experience. Ive always wanted to visit that facility and unfortunately every time I was in that area I was working and finding semi truck parking wasn't a option at that time. Its truly amazing to realize what sacrifices that our men and women and whole families made to win the war on not 1, but 2 fronts. And after losing as many ships at the beginning of the war with Japan. Its as if we entered a fight with one hand tied behind our back and a pair of black eyes and some broken fingers on the hand we had. And we still managed to WIN the war in the Pacific with some pretty tuff men. Not saying the war in Europe was a cake walk, Our boys got there ass's handed to them on day 1 at the Omaha Beach landing and other places in the sand and surf that faithful day. And where doing God's work to stop the slaughter of the 🇮🇱🇮🇱🇮🇱 people. Something that most say they had No Idea was taking place at such a "almost precision, mechanical way" I'm not sure we as a nation could do today what the "Greatest Generation" did then. The word "Sacrifice" doesn't even begin to explain it enough or do it justice.

Two things: 1) glad to see the dogs up and crushing it. We need a SRC DOG channel. Put Go Pros on the Dogs and let them rip. Scrappy Cam.
    2) When you love something or someone as much as you do......you'll never win. Everyone will say you care too much; then they say you don't care at all.....then they say you are too hard on Billy then they say you are not hard enough on Billy. Then there are comments that just want to set fires. No support, no intellligence, no ideas. Just comments to set fires. Bill, you and Billy need to find the balance between the two of you. As long as you and Billy stay amicable, keep the respect for each other; your family will be good. You don't have to smile at him, he doesn't have to smile at you. Just keep the mutual respect for the talent you both share. This "engine tuning thing" is an equal split between the two of you. But I suspect you know all of this. Best of luck to you. We will be waiting for the next video.
One more one last thing, Chevy and June pup need their own Channel: SRC Dogs. Trust me when I tell you this: Chevy and June are the future of the internet. We love them.

Bill, I've followed you a long time over on Instagram. Don't beat yourself up over this. We all have to learn those lessons and we usually learn them the hard way. I blew up multiple engines spraying nitrous and going lean because I was too hard headed to listen to my dad and uncles way back on the day. I refused several times to add enough fuel to keep it from detonation under full throttle on just a 250 shot. I finally listened and then I stopped breaking stuff. An engine would last a whole season. It was like night and day. That taught me a lot. Billy is sharp as a tack. He will learn quickly. You guys are not only a great family, you guys are a great team. One of the best with what you are working with. Look at what that Falcon has become in such a short period of time to going to the finals against Todd Spiers. That's impressive no matter how you look at it. Look at all the big races that truck has won in the past few years. Live and learn my friend. It's what we all do. God bless you all, stay safe and best wishes.
    Dennis Wagner
p.s. If you find you need an engine I still have that all new Dart SHP Block, AFR headed 434 with all the best stuff, forged everything just sitting in storage. Race balanced and dyno tuned. O runs.. Dyno time only. Just gimme a yell if you need one.

But that all slowly changed when i thought i was going to do everything my way and moved out of my parents house at 21. The reality of how hard it was to pay all of my own bills and fix things totally on my own set in. I almost lost my father to a massive heart attack that required open heart surgery and that was a huge wake up call for me. He is now 84 and has had a total of 5 bypasses, stints, balloons and a pacemaker. Only by the grace of God he is still here. Anyway, i quickly learned to listen to my old man more and absorb the wealth of information for all thing in life he had to give me.Your son will come around, he is just as stubborn as you are and its just part of gtowing up. As a parent you owe them your opinion and advice. I get it completely. It’s got to be insanely difficult to balance the “what, where, then” of offering your……… advice, and knowledge. Cap that all off with doing it in the publics eyes.

Watching this video this morning kinda brought things to light that I didn't understand back then but I do now. This evening, after my dad get done with work I am going to call him.. I like you to know that I am going to share this video on my Facebook page and ask my dad and my son to watch it.. Thanks again for the amazing content and the eye opening education.. God bless y'all..
    Let's go Brandon!!!!

Bill. I am 36 now and me and my farther were the same way you and Billy were when I was growing up to. He definitely let me learn things the hard way several times. The older I get the more I look to him for his experiences and his advice on things in life.

You all will get it figured out believe me it took some tough love on things from my parents as well for me to see the correct path. In the long run tho you end up appreciating it and knowing they were only trying to help. You have to know someone especially a parent isnt going to recommend something and try to help to make things more complicated yes it might be difficult at times but if you can take a deep breathe and work through it usually everyone ends up in better shape. Some people learn from watching others some from mistakes and some by doing themselves but long as you take that mistake and learn from it all is well. Happy new year loving the content.

lost my "old man" 10 years ago. we drag raced in the 60's as a kid, now I'm racing a nitro bike. I sure could use his help tuning, but as for the kids don't give up. raising kids is like herding cats, just when you think you got them rounded up is when they surprise you. ... good luck racing this year

Great video Bill. Really enjoyed the part about WWII, took me back to my younger days going to spend weekends with my great uncle. He was an army vet and in the second wave of infantry to land at Omaha beach on D-Day. I will always feel like those men that stomped that ground will always be the greatest generation. Can’t begin to imagine the horror him and so many others saw that day. Luckily he made it thru. Lived to be 94 years old. One of the nicest men you’d ever meet. Hope y’all have a great 2022 with lots of winning.

    I love ww2 history.
My grandfather fought in the Aleutian islands 43to44 then Rhineland and Central Europe jan 45 till Sept 45. His regiment liberated Ohrdruf Death Camp in April of 45. After the war he came home and raised 8 kids and retired after 30yrs from the Bluegrass Army Depot where we store the Nation's Chemical Weapons. He earned 2 2Bronze Stars 2 Theatre Ribbons and his Riflemans Badge. We've still got a Luger 9mm and a SS dress dagger he brought home from the war. Most importantly we still have his M1Garand Rifle he carried from basic all the way thru the war. If I'm ever in New Orleans I'll have to go see that place...where Kristin's dad lives in Dayton we've been to Wright Patt AF Base a few times.

First id like to say Thank you for the tour inside the WWII Museum..I love history and watch a ton of YT videos about that war. That place is on my bucket list and everyone should go there and learn real History. I butted heads with my dad rest his soul but mostly over the fact I raced..he always felt I should just watch instead of waste my money. Racing kept me honest and away from bad stuff (for the most part) and made me want to work hard so I could afford racing. Being a Father has to be the hardest thing in the world to be and especially a racing Dad. We all make mistakes, its learning from them thats the biggest lesson. God Bless

I love watching all of your videos. It reminds me of my younger day's when my dad did all of my carburetor adjustments on my race car when I first started racing. He would sit back and have me do it after a while and wouldn't help me unless I really messed up. I would ask him why he let me do it. And he would say what will you do if I'm not around to do it for you. That was his way of making me figure it out. And he was right. I would get so mad sometimes but I was young and thought I knew more than he did. Boy was I wrong. Then he died unexpectedly at 54. I was out in the barn yesterday working on the carburetor on my camaro and thinking how I would love to have my dad there with me getting his advice. Really miss him all the time. And he's been gone 16 years now. Love the videos and watching your family. Makes me think about my dad and I love it.

Man this is a tough one, tell you what stop working on Billy's for a while and get your own ride back up and going or find something you want to be doing of your own on your channel here's why 1. Billy is going to go the injected route as fast as he can get there. ( and there's nothing wrong with that I mean that is where he shines in the tuning area) 2. that's going to leave you just that much more cut out. not hating on Billy but the writing is in fact on the Wall. He's done got his own shop and moved out. So, you can get your own ride up and going, or find something else to do on your channel or keep going down this road and end up feeling more and more cut out of the picture. Not saying you can't be a good father and or help out, but I am saying get your own thing going Whatever that may be. Because He's done got his. You both have obviously reached that point where he can stand or fall on his own and You know what that's not necessarily a bad thing. love it or hate it you're at that point where you can't mix business and Family anymore. Been there done that. You two should have had that conversation before you pulled that engine out of the S-10 after coming home from the Big Easy. So now do finish it up this time and then have the conversation with your son. And it's a HARD conversation for a father to have with a Grown son. It's better if you step back and say hey, I love you, but I think it might be best to do this on your own from now on. Because I have decided I want to do _________ fill in the blank. It's time to move on from the I told you so' stage. (You may not see it but go look at a lot of your videos as of late and count the I told you so's(Thats not making him feel good either especially when it's on a public stage Even if you are right) I am not trying to piss you off or make you mad (And it may do both) But as a Father who still remembers being there I hope you'll give what I said a lot of thought. I mean Neither of us liked it when we were his age, but can you imagine having to deal with it in today's environment all over social media? There is no easy answer but there is an answer if you look for it. No doubt in my mind you're a GREAT Father and Husband. Happily, go find something that you want to do if it helps your channel great if not it's ok just go work on being happy eliminate the unneeded stress and drama. I worked so hard that I didn't see my daughter's death coming (She killed herself in 2009 She was 22) Here's the thing I should have seen it the signs were there, but I was always on the road and didn't see them. I was told about them after it was too late. It Destroyed the entire family my two other kids twisted off on drugs my wife grieved herself into 14 strokes and is now bedridden. I've went broke trying to take care of my wife and can't even afford a trip to see you race. My point is taking the time to step back look at the entire picture Right now is a good idea. Eliminate some stress take a breather and you'll be so much better off for it

When I was kid and well into my teens I thought my Dad was the smartest man in the world. When I got into my early 20s it seemed like he had somehow gotten dumb or I had gotten smarter 🤔. A few years later as I had to experience life and learn the hard way It amazed me how smart my Dad had gotten in just a few years. I realized that he was right all along and I was the dumb one. Since then I listened and learned all I could and it made me a better man and mechanic. You see Dad loved me and wanted what was best for me....and he had always been smarter than me ready to give me what I needed. I just had to smarten up and realize it.. He's been gone about 30 years now and I wish I could ask his opinion today. But I still listen to him almost everyday because I remember what he taught me. I think Billy is at that age and he'll realize the Old Man is the best resource he could have and he's learning to listen. 😅 Have a happy New Year and y'all keep thrashing. God bless y'all.
