Just got hit with the Rush of Dread + Bloodletter of Aclazotz combo for the first time yesterday. I thought coming up through the lower ranks would be easy and fun. 🤦‍♂️
I guess I’ll be researching the meta combos to look out for from this point forward. 😅

Never thought I'd see the day where I am rooting for the mono red players but damn, with this deck, the commander deck (which has replaced the enchantment deck as my pet peeve mediocre but I still hate it and everything it stands for deck) and the Boros convoke shenanigans I almost feel a sense of nostalgia whenever i run into an honest mono red deck.

Nice to see some good deck explanations and a fellow UK player. See you on the ladder.😊

Surveil lands could help somewhat . Thanks for the content, Although this deck isnt exactly budget friendly its good to know what us newer players have to face!!

Hey, I have really been enjoying your videos on the MTGA economy. Do you think you could rotate in some videos on the various deals that come through the store? For example, I want to know if it would be worth it to buy the borderless shocklands bundle as a new player, but I can't find any videos on it.

Thanks for the suggestion. I'll keep an eye out for any interesting deals in the store. A lot of them, like the shocklands bundle are just cosmetics, so you'd still need to craft the actual cards with wildcards anyway. I don't think cosmetics really have any objective value. I've picked up one set of land styles, one emote bundle and one avatar in the store and I don't see any need to buy any more. If you really like them and have the resources to spare, then it's totally up to you.

@@gameschooldadMTG Thanks for the reply. I thought they might be the actual cards so I am glad I asked first.

this is the natural order of having red deck wins decks all over the place.

Thankfully the current meta ones all get ruined by a swift breeze, so if you can stabilize by turn 4 they instalose a lot of the time

You have the right idea, but you're missing some key points.
The whole objective is to try and get a Conspiracy Unrav out ASAP or gamble by Reenacting a Breach. This is how the combo is started. At that point you're going to want cards in your hand to cast, which is why you don't want to be just binning Atraxa if you have other trash in your hand. I noticed you added another Kaito and swapped a vault for a door, it may be just wildcard related and you couldnt craft it, but it makes no sense. You don't want a discard outlet that costs mana, our you can't combo on turn 4.
There are some other smaller mistakes that you made, but overall you're close! Good luck refining it!

It might just be something in the few games that are included in the video that's missing, but I am quite aware of how the deck works. Getting the combo on turn 4 depends on having all the pieces in your hand early on which doesn't happen very often. The point of the vaults are to sometimes ramp to casting a breach or Atraxa using the treasures if needed.

Cool video. Hate the deck though. feels like if they have it on turn 4, or whenever you have to tap out, you cant do much to interact and stop it. its over the turn it happens. borderline banworthy imo.

I use a Selesnya Enchant deck and when i see this deck i auto concede. Sadly there's nothing i can do because winning before their turn 4 most of the time is impossible

    • @gameschooldadMTG
      @gameschooldadMTG  7 місяців тому

Enchantments can be pretty fast sometimes, and they don't always have the combo on turn 4, so I wouldn't give up so easily. Once it kicks off, then maybe!

@@gameschooldadMTG The problem is that any removal means concede.
Even IF i can kill them on turn 4, that needs to be MY turn 4.
The only win i ever had was because the opponent clearly net decked without understanding, but with anyone else is just pointless even trying

And I hate dull counterspell decks, they are so uninspired and boring to play against. I wish WotC had made all these spells more expensive/harder to cast as they just quash any creativity and fun.

    • @hmvollbanane1259

What is the recommended amount of mana you need to make sure you don't get outvalued with the counterspells? Skipped 2 editions and suddenly I run into everything from spell pierce up to pay 4. Is that one commonly picked or is it still 2 open against mono blue and now 3 I guess against blue/white?

cgb's version is way better and much more consistent in winning, cool concept that you've made but it just does not go where it needs to
