I don’t know one guy in Philadelphia who hasn’t gone into work and said “I hate this f***in place” at least a few times in their life. I said that sh*t today.
He owned up to what he said--no BS. That's what Philly fans want. If you are honest, work hard, and hustle, Philly will love and respect you. Period. Proud of the fans last night!
the moment I saw his live post-game interview I immediately thought "OK this kids my favorite player now. I hope everyone else sees this and agrees with me", the next day I go to the game, and Bohm comes up, I go to give him a standing O, and half the stadium gets up before I'm even out of my seat. it was awesome
As a cardinals attendee.. I can say watching this guy at Busch stadium was amazing. He played third well, then moved to first base later in game, hit a home run and just made amazing defensive plays entire game. He’s truly an all around versatile player that can hit and field. I’ll be following his career with great interest from a city afar.
Anybody that stays Philly fans are too harsh...you don't get it. And you NEVER will. This can be the BEST city in the world to play professional sports in, or it could be the absolute WORST -- it's all up to you as a player. We can smell BS from a mile away. Be upfront and give every last drop of energy you have, and I promise we'll give it all back tenfold. Put yourself above the team, the fans, and the city, and I promise you we'll let you know about it. At the end of the day, it's your choice. Be willing to EARN your keep and EARN your respect. Anything less is not tolerated. End of story. Said?! SAID.
Our teams and our athletes are like our children. All we want is for them to be try their best, be honest, be real and even if you don’t succeed we’ll love you anyway. As Martin once said… I can respect that. Respect that on the respect.
The most misunderstood fan base in America...... Mitch Williams served up a walk off World Series winning homer run for The Blue Jays and the town still loves him. Because we all knew it wasn't his fault. Unfortunately there was 1 person that disagreed Jim Fregosi. Mitch would getting a standing O any day of the week in Philly. Pat "the bat" Burrell was a lifetime .252 .253 hitter and a strikeout machine...sometimes he would strikeout before he left the on deck circle but Philly love him because he gave you everything he had... he worked hard and manufactured results when we needed him. On that very same team we had Bobby Abreu who hit about .308 over 7 or 8 seasons, a man long on talent but short on effort with a unique ability to get a massive amount of extra base hits, that will be remembered for none of them.. my automatic transmission wad more clutch than Abreu ever was. The only thing you could count on with Abreu was not being able to count on him..... Philly fans would take 9 Pat's over a 25 Bobbys any day... Philly fans love winners but we cheer for EFFORT. Winning is a bonus.
But it was Mitch’s fault (didn’t he blow another game a couple nights before?) He was also crucified after. The difference is he didn’t hide from the criticism and stuff & Philly fans respect that.
Two years to the day after his gaffe, Bohm is currently leading the team in RBI, homered, and made a great sliding grab to secure a 5-1 Phillies win. HE LOVES THIS PLACE
I still think about this moment when watching him play. Just imagine. He could’ve kept his head down and said nothing to the media and he would’ve continued to hate this place and us fans would’ve lost all respect for him. But he admitted to it, owned up to it, and apologized. We showed that we still supported him. And look where he is now. We fucking love him and he fucking loves this place
As a Philly fan I’m shocked But in a good way. Maybe I’ve just experience too many drunk morons (saying things like unironically being pissed about Harper walking “ohhh paying 330 million to not swing the bat” or comparing Nola to Ben fucking Simmons)
Instead of having plate appearance music he should record himself saying, Bohmmmmm Bohmmmm Bohmmmm Bohmmmm Bohmmmm Bohmmmm…”, and come out to that. 😃 This is exactly what I would do if I were him.
he had 3 errors the game before and got pissed and said " i f-ing hate this place." he admitted to saying it and owned up to it and we gave him a standing ovation

This is when Alec started playing for Philadelphia
Braves fan here, Bohm has the best walkup in MLB this year, been in the park 3 times just in 2022 his song is electric in that stadium.
best walk up song in MLB
It was so timely after all the Simmons nonsense. The city was so relieved to have no BS
