I think he had a perfect response just to own it. He was extremely frustrated.. who wouldn't be in that situation? Not like he got in an argument or started yelling at fans. If that's what he needed at the time to just let it out the way he did I say no big deal.

I have always said, and I will say it again……..playing in BOSTON,NYC,and PHILADELPHIA are not for the faint of heart. The difference being that BOSTON and NYC fans are less trigger happy with the booing, and will only boo and jeer after some significant forbearance. A little more sophistication if you’d ask me. I will speak as a NYC sports fan(die hard METS,G-MEN,KNICKS,and to a lesser extent,RANGERS in hockey)……..We love our sports teams, but what we love more than our teams is winning. Above all else. WINNING WINNING WINNING. Ownership has to show the fans that they are serious about winning championships, and not just competing to sell tickets. This is anathema to the New York sports fan. It’s primacy recency. A what have you done for me lately kind of thing. Winning never gets old for the New York sports fan. It’s like alcohol to an active alcoholic. Crack to a………. You know what I mean. It’s a collective addiction to us. Joe Torre was chased out of town after 3,4 championships. Tom Coughlin after two Super Bowls against arguably the greatest QB of all time. Not to mention head coach in Belecheck. Davie Johnson led my METS to 5 years straight with 90 + wins and a glorious championship in 86 with a 108 regular season record. I can give more examples, but time will not allow. Andy Reid for example, lasted around 15 years with the eagles 🦅 with no championship. Great seasons(won every year it seems),but no championship to show for it in that time. This could never happen in New York. New York fans would not know patience if it hit us in our collective head. Not the best place for coaching job security to say the very least. Patience is a virtue, that none of these 3 aforementioned cities have. Instant gratification retards the process. Albeit that there is one at all of course. LET’S GO METS!!!

I respect this guy for telling the truth. That seems to be a lost art these days in the age of MAGA mania where people just make up stuff and lie about anything and everything. Good for him for admitting what he said, taking responsibility and explaining that emotions got the best of him. At least he didn't try to call it "fake news" like you know who.
