eish @@gunlicence I forgot to ask you, how ready do you think S.A is for these “modular firearms”? I just saw a pistol come ar from zrodelta. Does the law change? do we get a new training pack? 🤷🏽♂️ Sorry but I think you know better than me
Awesome advise. Thanks a lot! The rumors' I heard was that you had to be there 2 hours before the flight and that it was a hassle. thanks again fo clearing it up. Well done.
Great info, thanks Mark! Suggestion: apple air tags can be hidden inside empty extra mags if you remove the spring. Leave the empty flush mag with tag in your gun to track it. I had to wait about 1 hour for my handgun at ORT last week. Wish I had the tag in just to check.
I recently flew an AR15 from SA to Europe and back, with 2 layovers both ways including switching airlines several times. You do not see your gun the entire flight, it is transferred between planes by airport staff. Firearms can and do frequently get lost. You get it back eventually, but the stress of losing a firearm will take years off your life. I had a smart tag on my rifle case so I watched my rifle moving around the airport from my phone, I knew where it was at all times and l knew when it had been loaded onto my next flight. I HIGHLY recommend tags!
I have a rookie question for you. What do you do with a dud round (primer failure) after you have ejected it? Is there a potential for delayed primer ignition and the round going off? Or Is the round safe to handle immediately after ejection and how or with whom do you dispose of the dud in a safe manner especially for those that dont reload? Perhaps a youtube short video on this topic?
Thats a very good question. If you are on a shooting range or not in a life threatening situation, handle it as a potential hang fire and keep your muzzle pointing in a safe direction for at least 10 seconds. Thereafter, treat it as a misfire and eject the round. If you are in a defensive situation, tap, rack and assess immediately. Even if it detonates out of battery or on the ground, it most likely wont be lethal... incoming enemy fire will be though, so its definitely the lesser of the two evils. You can hand the round over to a gun shop or ask the range officer what he would like you to do with the round. You could also keep it.
Yasssssis thanks bro, I've been calling in to these airlines so many times, and they say I'm only allowed to carry rifles etc. for sports shooting. Now atleast I know I can carry my section 13 and fly and don't have to drive.
Can you book / fly with section 13 firearm. See a lot of them say it has to be for sporting purposes? Wanted to fly with mine about 3 months ago but left it as its section 13 Great vid thanks
Maybe I'm paranoid, isn't all this making you a target for theft. People are already followed from the airport and victims of crime, how much more when criminals see you walk into that area to "check-in" your gun?
Good question. I think the benefits of having your gun with you far outweigh any risks. After you have handed in your gun, you go straight through airport security. Then on the other side, you book out your gun before you leave the baggage area, which can only be accessed by paying passengers. Seeing as you would need to have bought an airline ticket to access the areas where you would be, I don't think it would be very profitable for criminals to follow you.
I’m just glad we as South Africans now have channels like this 🇿🇦💯👍
Thanks so much!😁

Just read a question on Facebook asking how to fly with your FA. Lo and behold, you pop up on my UA-cam feed. Glad you did though. First time viewer.

Think I should do a video on how to conceal carry at Padel...
@@gunlicence 100% especially with how trendy it is now!!! conceal carry at the beach/gym/padel etc
On the menu 😂

Good video as always. Keep them coming.
Thank you for helping us! Respect!
Very useful information. As far as I know, the other airlines only carry long guns but not semi-autos.
Excellent tip. I use AirTags on every item of luggage and gear I fly/travel with. They are brilliant!
Thats actually a bloody good idea!

I’ve always wondered about this🙏

Thanks for this informative video Mark. Can you do 2 guns in a case or is it one gun per case.
Well done

Did you encounter any "weirdos" on your journey. You should make a video on your take of what your definition of "weirdos" are.
🤣 I love this idea!
No notable weirdos were encountered on this journey.
Thanks, very informative video...can the box be plastic or must it be metal?
The box can be plastic👍
Do you perhaps know if a person would be allowed to put their EDC knife into one of the boxes also?
I put my knives, batons, ammo and nail clippers into my ammo box.
What about pellet guns, is it the same procedure?
Yasssssis thanks bro, I've been calling in to these airlines so many times, and they say I'm only allowed to carry rifles etc. for sports shooting. Now atleast I know I can carry my section 13 and fly and don't have to drive.
They do seem to change their policies quite frequently 😅
Lift is definitely the way to go if you want to fly with your SD gun.
Same experience with flysafair.
When you talk to them, remember that you probably know more than they do,
so be patient like you were talking to a toddler.

Wanted to fly with mine about 3 months ago but left it as its section 13
Great vid thanks
You can fly with an SD gun on Lift.
The other airlines have lost the plot.
Thanks for watching 😁

Thanks for the info, but this is the very reason I rather drive to where I want to be in SA.
