Ford Escape due to 3 or 4 cyl ecoboost Subaru WRX due to head gasket and ring failures Hyundai Palisade due to cracking windshield (seriously) and a valve spring recall Ford Bronco Sport due to same engine as the Escape Buick Encore due to transmission and electrical problems Toyota Tundra with 3.5 turbo due to metal shavings gernading engines Nissan Murano due to fuel system, electrical and CVT problems VW Tiguan due to engine control gremlins Chrysler Pacifica due to brake, steering problems Jeep Cherokee due to engine and transmission issues, plus electronic and build quality concerns Honorable mention: Tesla 3 due to software and touch screen issues
Can't agree less with the new generation vb wrx: Consumer Reports gives the 2024 Subaru WRX a predicted reliability rating of 5/5 and a predicted owner satisfaction rating of 5/5. They also predict that the 2024 WRX will be more reliable than other new cars based on similar models and Subaru brand scores
Software updates for Tesla are one of the BEST features - you can schedule them to happen overnight and when you drive it in the morning you have bug fixes, security updates, and new features added. For instance my favorite recent update allows you to stand behind the vehicle with your phone key turned on and after 3 chimes the trunk opens automatically- perfect when you are carrying an armload of groceries.
As a technician myself, I always advise my friends that Honda's and Toyota's are the safest bets for longevity due to lower maintenance costs, good depreciation, and above average reputation for long-term reliability. Though not perfect, Honda and Toyota are generally good.
Current mazdas are more reliable than hondas. Or at least Hondas just having problems with some of their 9 and 10 speed trans. Also their newer 1.5t already has a reputation for blowing head gaskets. Also mazda is literally the safest in crashes and have had outstanding reliability for the last decade.
Dude do your rsearch more the new fa24 motor on the wrx does not have any of the issues. Please do your research and realize this is not factual information. Only problem for 22 and up is 3rd gear issue which is few and far cases. Mostly due to the added power people doing.
the fa24 is definitely an improvement from the fa20, but the transmissions on these are like glass. Multiple owners have reported their transmissions grenading themselves, and this is even in stock form. Look into the wrx forums

I had a 95 Dodge Neon put 400,000 miles on it still running when I got rid of it. Replacement of transmission 240,000 miles. Damn best car ever owned. AND THAT'S A FACT SO PEOPLE CAN SAY HOW JUNKIE CHRYSLER IS BUT NO WORST THAN ANY THING OUT THERE. YOU WANT JUNK. TRY FORD , KIA, HYUNDAI. MORE RECALLS THAN YOU CAN KEEP UP WITH. @@TinoMiller I know I was adding to what you said this is my opinion. It is a controversial one that EVEN FAMED UA-cam mechanic car wizard supports. While ppl “ abuse” the vehicles and drive them like maniacs they are still running. That is what reliability means. Not if the cosmetic sunroof is working or if the paint is peeling. If you stick the key in and turn over the engine will it run and drive.
I got roasted when sharing my grievances on UA-cam with wrxs, the fa20 to be exact. I took meticulous care of it's maintenence and didn't race it at every intersection, honestly, was such a shitty car to drive stock, I didn't bother try to have fun because it was so slow and tuned so horribly stock, that i just wanted to take it wasy till warrantyis up and then do some shit to it. I had rod bearing failure under 50k. Would regularly get ridiculed or criticized by subi fan boys about how I didn't maintain it, change oil, etc. Like they have some scripted note card collection to explain it away and gaslighting tactics. The furthest between changing oil I went was around 4k once. I check ALL past current, and future cars oil and coolant fluids routinely and it NEVER once was low on oil. So the only explanation I can think of, quality control issue in factory or shitty engine regardless. I did my due diligence and refuse to take blame. I've had over a dozen cars in my life and the wrx was the ONLY one with engine issues under 200k. Matter of fact no other car I've had including a c230 Benz, had engine issues. Had a base focus se 5mt and sold it for said wrx, at 248k miles. That car had some issues, but nothing serious and burned less than a qt every 5k miles. So any subaru ass kissers in comments who want to say something, go ahead, I've heard it all before.
All these "SUVs", not cars will lose their values.. Majority of the public now buying these SUVs don't know what a real "car" is. Didn't grow up with the mystique of a car and because not many "cars" on the market will definitely be a gap in the values of the used market.. The only used "cars" I predict would be way out of people's range on the used car market.. No electric car will be valuable in 10 years unless the name is Ferrari or McLaren..

Right!!!!
Does this include the CVT automatic version of the WRX? I'm looking to purchase one.

Right now Honda quality go down and Mazda go up. I'll still buying Toyota.

Never heard anyone complain about a Nissan Murano .. Yeah their Sentra, and Rogue but not the Murano
Same. It is rare to hear bad things about the Murano, Versa and Altima as far as reliability is concerned.

I am surprised it took that long on the list to get to a Nissan. And no Infinitis.
