Seriously, watch the show first, there is so much spoiler in this, and it's SO worth seeing the series whole first!!
I was debating to wait until the last three episodes air, but I just couldn't help myself. I don't know where the writers will take them and I'm a bit weary that it won't be more than what we already got, so I'm just riding this high and inspiration while it lasts!
Considering that I didn't know shit about LoL before, I'm way too deep down the Arcane hole partying 24/7 in the angst.
THEM. Okay, I need to clarify that the WHOLE show is mcfrickin brilliant, and is exceeding all my expectations BIG time. The animation, the writing, the art direction, the score music, the voice acting... I could go on all day. And I'm living for the sister dynamic that made my bawl my eyes out multiple times. I plan on making something for them too in the future, but I definitely want to have all 9 epis for that. Okay. Yes. BUT.
Caitlyn and Vi managed to steal the whole show for me when they teamed up and I haven't been able to think about anything else since lmao. I love a good enemies-to-friends-to-lovers story anyday, and they're writing these two so good. Just the silent things like Cait not missing a heartbeat to give up her most valuable thing, her gun, to save a girl who she's seen has suffered needlessly so much. Vi slowly realising that just because Cait is an enforcer from topside she's a nice and kind human being and warms up to her. The potential they have is just *chef's kiss*. Ahem, hopefully they will too.
Can't wait for next week's batch of final episodes to murder my emotions :')

EXACTLY. She traded the only weapon that could protect her to get the medicine to save Vi. That scene is really underrated because it shows that Vi being safe is more important then her.

Caitlyn is exactly what Vi needs rn… Someone who wants to protect her and love on her for a change… Vi was forced to grow up far too soon when she was a child herself trying her best to take absolute care of Powder and her friend’s, she the one everyone looked up to and aspired to be.
She’s faced so much trauma at such an early age and Caitlyn is exactly what she needs…Vi is chaotic and impulsive and doesn’t seem to care for herself which is why she jumps headfirst in a fight and never backs down (don’t get me wrong I love those traits about her character ) but Caitlyn is what balances her out.
She’s the calm to all of Vi’s storms…I can’t wait to see just how much their dynamic grows in s2…they are absolutely beautiful together.

Thing is, Vi also isn't afraid to confront Caitlyn with the harsh reality. Something that is also very important and much needed for a lot of people
You are so right and I can tell you have thought about it. I’m not 15 and have very strict parents so I’m not allowed to watch it so I love what you have said
I sincerely believe that the Caitlyn and Vi romance is one of the best I've ever seen in fiction. Their families positions as complete opposites from each other in society- one of poor outlaws, and the other of the rich and the royal. Caitlyn's curious and inquisitive nature clashes so violenlty (heh) against Vi's mysterious and take-no-bullshit attitude.
Their bond is so strong that it feels destined, and I suppose it would be without the surprise element of Jinx. Vi is constantly getting herself into trouble, but the stubborn "roomate" is always there to save her/pick her up when she inevitably blocks with her face.
Vi is stuck in the past, Cait is lost in her future, and when the two of them are together, they are totally in the present. It's amazing, the way Vi looked at Caitlyn in the bed scene, like she was finally with someone that made her feel truly happy and safe. This relationship is the most well-written and it certainly feels like it got the most attention out of all of Season 1, and I'm honestly fucking hyped. If the writers/animators felt like this relationship was the one that carried the show, then I truly hope that they make that the plan as well in S2. It'll be 2-3 years before that tho. I can't wait.

2:44 i never noticed how much emotion and inner conflict both vi and cait was showing in their facial expressions. cait's darting eyes all over vi's face and her expression almost immediately softened after realising her feelings for her. this show is amazing.

thank you!! I know right, she has such strong morals, but it's her own compass that she's following and knows that Vi has not deserved most of the hardships she's been through. Cait is willing to give her a chance and see who the person is underneath the prejudices she has, and the walls Vi has put up through the years of suffering in order to protect herself. as you said, chef's kiss!
i loved that scene. i felt like cait was always searching for something greater than herself or someone who could truly understand her.

@@UniqueliAnimationsSN Marcus can't be compared to Grayson. He was literally corrupted, locked a damn kid and hoped that she stayed there for her rest of her life and no one questioned his order. He was one of the reasons why Vander and the other children died too.

yet one more thing Caitlyn didn't know about how the world hurt Vi and why she became so walled up and hated enforcers. every time she got another piece of the puzzle that is Vi, she just became more and more fond of her, like it or not 😌

Aaahhhh I binged these three episodes last night and was so hoping fandom had done its thing because the sparks between these two are phenomenal. This video captures all the layers of their complicated relationship! I hope they go canon in the next batch of episodes, but even if they don’t, what we’ve had is SO MUCH!

My friends sent me this amv and I could go on forever about how this amv makes me feel but I'll try to keep it brief. But honestly you have captures every emotion i chase reading fanfiction the aching and longing for comfort and love and the anxiety and angst when something goes so very wrong that you are desperate and the sweet relief of a soft touch to sooth anything.
