- This was Ryan's second time shooting on film with the Krasnogorsk-3. Our first reel was in Mexico while on vacation (linked below). This time around we wanted to try shooting at night. Ryan also wanted to try something with a narrative feel, involving fake rain. This was the result! :)
Shot on: Krasnogorsk-3 Super 16
Lens: 17-69mm f1.9 zoom
Film: Kodak 16mm Vision3 500T/7219

Wow! This is incredible. Fantastic job. You inspired me on my own 16mm film journey. Cheers!
That's awesome. Just started our film journey. It can be costly, but very rewarding and pure. Can't wait to see what you shoot!
Absolutely perfect - this is what I'm here for!
Great cannel glad i stumbled upon this 16 work
Very grainy and kind of low res looking but it is just so beautiful. I have never seen anything digital look this nice. Congrats I love it.
This is great
Thank you!
This looks fantastic on my cell phone! Will watch ASAP on my PC abd monitor, which are at my work pkace. Will provide feedback as requested, but it like there is a lot you were able to solve. Awesome stuff. Subscribed.
This is our second reel shooting on film. If anyone has any advice on improving the image, feel free to comment below. All advice appreciated. Thank you so much!!!
This is beautiful, would love to see more narrative K3 stuff! How'd you deal with sound?
Thanks! I didn't record sound. Just sound-mixed everything later in post. Maybe I'll attempt to record sound including dialog next time. And see if the camera is too loud to fix in post.
@@YvetteRyanInfiniteVentures Makes sense, was curious if you recorded some location sound when the camera wasn't rolling and mixed it later. I'm waiting on a Kiev 16y & wanna try post-prod sound films with it. You did a great job with the mixing!
Did you push any stops in the processing? How are you able to get so much light at night?
Didn't push the stops in processing. Shot on 500T, but could have definitely used more light (especially with the car scene and last scene). I think I was actually underexposed by a stop when filming those scenes. I just brought up the exposure when color grading. The main reason I shot this was to actually see how the camera would perform in lowlight and for the most part was pretty impressed. :)
Yeah, this was really impressive to see how it handled at night-especially the all the stuff at the fair. Good work. And thanks for sharing.
I see at least 5 short film nominations from this 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼🫶🏼
Did you use any extra lights on the subject for the close ups? Or was it all the ambient light from the fair?
Only used a light for the car scene. The fair was all ambient.
@@YvetteRyanInfiniteVentures looks really good. Nice job. Did you need to shoot fully open on the aperture?
@@newwinterstudios8910 Yes sir. Aperture was wide open.
