You can actually upgrade turrets with the engineer on wallnut hills but the 2nd level for it has a missing texture making it bug out

Imitator „used“ to be real as a concept but then it was scrapped, also I know that it is a mod, it’s from germanshu and imitator was scrapped because it’s too expensive to make into the game
Imitator was probably meant to be for boss mode a limited time event in the townhall similar to the renegade imp
It was never finished cos the game was abandoned for bfn
