Nacho is to BCS as Jesse is to BB in my opinion. They are both sympathetic characters that fans have feelings about. The only difference is Jesse is able to escape that life. Nacho is able to get out by taking his own life instead of the Salamancas doing it. But how the producers were able to justify a throwaway line was absolutely genius. Besides Mike, Nacho is my favorite character

The character had such a pall of doom hanging over him. Watching him try to figure out how to get out was sad. Then watching him try to figure out JUST how to keep his father safe while "letting" himself be killed was terrifying.
At least the writers seem to have allowed his father to stay alive. Though all parents know that having your child killed before you die, is a horrible semi life.

While maybe not intentional, I do really like the parallel between Mike and his son, and Nacho and his father, where both are characters who convince a beloved family member to take dirty money-comedically, from people involved in the law and from people involved in the cartel, respectively-for the sake of their own safety, only for the briber(s) in question to become suspicious of the bribe-ee's reluctance, and make (or in Hector's case, imply to make) the decision to kill them off anyway, which then results in the initial person to decide to kill the briber in retaliation.
Of course, the difference between the two is that Mike made the attempt to kill the dirty cops after his son was murdered, and was successful, while Nacho made the attempt before his father _could_ be murdered, and was not.
Both Mike and Nacho see themselves as disappointments to their respective families, and especially given their shared preference to keep those "out of the game" alive and safe shown in the later seasons, I think that's all in all a nice touch.

This is all my head cannon so it very well could just be a blue flower.

One small nitpick. At 10:38 you mention "... or Mike can inform Tuco of his side business..." Mike was actually warning Nacho that Pryce going to the cops would eventually lead to them uncovering Nacho's side business and thus alerting Tuco. This is why you can see Nacho immediately become less confrontational as he begins to realize Mike isn't the source of the threat, Pryce is.

I never thought about how stupid Hector's plan to use Nacho's dad's business was; if Nacho didn't outright say it, he heavily implied his dad could put the police on them.
"I don't trust him," yeah he fucking told you not to lmao. Of course it makes sense in-character, Hector feels like hot shit that can get his way, he wants to stop relying on Gus' trucks as soon as possible, etc etc., but it's just like... come on dude. He more or less sealed his fate from this stupid, short-sighted decision

I was very surprised that nachos speech before killing himself and then robbing Hector of his revenge that Hector and the Salamanca's didn't go after nachos dad as payback. While watching that scene....I was positive that it was gonna get his dad killed because that's how petty and vicious Hector was.

Does anyone else know the twins well enough to match their names to their faces?
Marco - mole under the eye, more expressive, the one shot by Hank and almost drowned by Hector
Leonel - Less expressive (unlike Marco who occasionally smirks and is more visibly upset when seeing Lalos fake body), the one who had his legs amputated
I always see people call them the "Salamanca cousins" or the "Salamanca twins"
I actually really enjoy their characters because they are so loyal, badass, and sexy. I feel like maybe the reason Leonel is less expressive is because he takes the job more seriously as he felt what it was like to fear for the safety of someone you care about young when Hector almost drowned Marco. He learnt to be less emotional because what he told Hector when he was a kid: he wants Marco dead for killing his toy, he learnt that his words have consequences so he shouldn't express temperment as much.
I cried when they died. After Leonel was hurt by Hanks car, Marco rushes to him out of worry. This is the only time we see one of them rush because they almost always just walk menacingly because they feel in control of the situation. This time however Marco ignores the mission for a bit to check on his brother. Leonel only tell him to "finish him" and focus on the mission. We see as Marco takes a deep breath to calm himself and heads for Hank, this time motivated even more by revenge for both Tuco and Leonel. He has the chance to kill Hank but instead decides to do it with their axe because it was "too easy" and I think he wanted to inflict more pain on Hank.
It is mentioned in BCS that the Salamancas method of killing people is slow, meaning they enjoy torturing their victims. We see this in Tuco wanting to torture Jimmy for info, we see torture equipment in the shack they have in the desert that was gonna be used on Ignacio. And finally we see this as the twins decide to use axes when taking revenge to more pain is inflicted. This decision leads to both their deaths because Marco was furious and emotional. Ironically the thing they avoid doing the most, being emotional to the point of not speaking is what let to the twins' downfall. Marco wanted to avenge his family because all the Salamancas learn from a young age:
"family is all" and "blood for blood"
Gus mocks their "blood for blood" quote saying that what they're really enforcing is "blood for money". However, I belive it is both. They clearly all believe in "blood for blood" and we have seen them take revenge for one another. We also see them killing people to expand territory, keep their power, get rid of problems and all to keep Don Eladio happy and keep their money.

    Sopranos parallel comment
Nacho attempted hit on Tuco with Mike is a brilliant character arc that mimics the Sopranos. Tuco looks more like Tony Soprano, Mike looks like Junior Soprano. In other words, it takes on that type of character arc in their development. It certainly adds to the story line and overall character arcs, like it did in the Sopranos.
