Honestly this car is my perfect in between daily. I wanted a two door, M2 was too small (love it though) I wanted a nicer interior than the M2 offered, I couldn’t afford an M4 at 24 + crazy insurance rates. I picked my 25 M440i xDrive up two weeks ago and still very happy with my fake m4! Next step is obviously a real M4 🤣
This is basically where I’m at, but can afford the M4. Hell, I could buy several of them in cash. I test drove an M4C xDrive today but… I don’t know man… I just don’t *want* to spend that money on it. I mean fuck, after 4 years of interest and taxes, it’s over $100k. I just didn’t feel like I wanted the car as much as $100k. Maybe if I was a multimillionaire? I don’t know. The way I described it to my wife who couldn’t join me on the test drive was that it was the best car that I could afford, but didn’t want. I prefer the classier interior of the M440i. I prefer that I can get Mocha leather. I prefer that I can get wood grain. The M2 would be great if I could get those things, and true Individual paint choices, but I can’t. So here I am, watching this video for the 8th time. In a lot of ways, I just prefer the M440i over the M4 and M2. BMW have yet to make the “perfect” car for me, I guess.

Have the seat belt extender on our S5 Cab, great feature. Also, no dipstick, you can check the level in the menu easily. There is a cap where the dipstick would be(and can be if you go aftermarket) and this is where you do the oil change from the top using an oil extractor. Quick and easy.
An oil dip stick making it's way back into BMWs would be so nice. I hate waiting for the electronic measurement at operating temps. If you ever have an issue, you basically have to do an oil change to know how much is in there without risking damage when measuring oil level. Makes no sense.
I thought other manufactures had switched over to this system since everyone copies BMW. You're supposed to manually check your oil level whenever you refuel if you have a manual dip stick, but no one does and so people are probably driving around with low oil and don't know it. With this system it will alert you even if you don't run one of those oil level checks.
The lack of a mild hybrid is kind of a bummer on the 2-series. The engine is constantly turning itself off when you're driving in town, and in stop and go traffic, the engine feels like it's going to kill itself stopping and restarting every few minutes. Not to mention dumb stuff like turning off at stop signs when the vehicle still has forward momentum. It's not the thing that will make the 240i a bad choice, but it's a constant reminder of how much better it could be.
@@koopaGG While true, it's not always at the top of mind, and that first stop sign on the way out of the neighborhood is a jarring experience. Also, you don't get the fuel economy benefits of auto-start/stop if you turn it off. Otherwise, I'm totally happy with my M240i.
