Yes to simplicity. One thing I actually notice is that the ladies with a much simpler and natural beauty routine look much better over the years. All the fillers and expensive creams only make the skin more saggy over time it seems…..love your channel ❤
That’s actually a valid observation! I’ve seen this too. Unless you keep up with all the extra stuff, eventually it will show the aftermath with age. Thanks so much for watching!
I never really got into make up and I feel that people get used to seeing you with or without make up. It’s when you switch things up people notice. If I had a day where I wore some eye shadow and mascara I would get asked if I was going fur an interview🙃. The opposite is a girl who always wore make up would go without and people would ask her if she felt ok or that she looked tired. It’s what people get used to.
Your observation is very true, people do get used to it. Back when I used to do date, I used to think that I shouldn’t wear too much makeup because eventually, my future partner would see what i really looked like and didn’t want to deceive him from the beginning. 😂
Appreciate the simple routine. It's good to look at what we're expected to do/consume as women. I don't color my hair and don't plan to. I don't own a flat iron. No mascara. No manicures. Makeup only for work, and minimal. I keep my wardrobe simple, too.
Just found u. I am done buying make up and any beauty products. They r expensive and unnecessary. I feel. I’m 51. I wish I discovered this truth years ago. ❤
Totally agree! A lot of it is unnecessary. And i feel like we wouldn’t appreciate our natural beauty and aging when we’re always trying to hide it. Just use less, drink lots of water, eat a good diet, and our skin will look good! Thanks for watching!
Regards from Brazil here 🤗 I agree with, my routine is almost like yours, now I have more money and time! Such a freedom to say goodbye to all of these 😊
Love this! I agree, the beauty and skin care trends have gone completely out of control, over-marketing to the masses. No-one needs that many tonics and lotions. And I never understood the big eyelash fad, I've always thought they looked ridiculous and clown like. I think natural lashes look so much more beautiful.
Totally agree, I don’t think I would even be able to keep up with so many things to put on my skin. The fake lashes do look clown like lol. Thanks so much for watching!
Love this mentality, I think there’s such value in individuality and doing what works best for each person. Nothing wrong with spending on the areas we enjoy and saving on the areas that aren’t for us✨✨
I do everything like you do except for the body wash. I believe that body wash should be different from facial cleanser because we've different type of skin on both parts. ❤
Really great video, keeping stuff simple & toxin free especially what one eats or puts on their body is so important. Sadly, it almost always takes becoming very sick or other life altering experience before people change. Kudos to you for being aware so early. I too have ditched most of what you described especially makeup & self care products & I feel so much lighter & better. With some exceptions, most people do not need all the products but marketing & big business are not letting up anytime soon & will convince them they cannot live without all the stuff.
I've heard from a girl that works at the local library from where I'm from. She had told me that she has a friend that sometimes get botox because she said her friend said that it helps her with headaches/migraines. I agree with you, personal reference but I'm a big fan of the natural look myself too! I love it when I see people that accept, love and embrace their natural beauty.
I know some people that use it for migraine purposes too, and I get that. Glad to hear you're all about natural beauty, because it's what we've got! :) Thanks for watching!
You should use spf everyday. Even when you stay inside. 😉 I’m 61 years old and have no wrinkles. I get lots of compliments plus protection from the sun. I totally agree with everything else you said. I’ve never used any of these things. I’ve had 3 pedicures in my life but want to save the money and I have very sensitive feet so I do my own. Great video!
I think it’s the fragrance in the body lotion that you used that you reacted to ! Not the ingredients! Body lotions are not toxic !! Every product you buy are tested to the max! They wouldn’t be sold if they were toxic ! If you say something is “toxic” can you tell us the toxins please and the evidence based data you have for this ! !

Thank you so much for your kind message! And girl, do it! Being on UA-cam has been so rewarding! I wasn’t always great at talking in front of the camera (that’s what editing is for… 😂). My advice is just talk about everything that you care about, try different topics that interest you and just share your personal experiences on them. Your people will relate and follow you. You can do it!!!
Great list! The 4 I still have are Mascara (super blonde here) Straightener (15 years old) Deod (cannot find a natural that works for me) Tampons (hate pads and tried the cup) One time I purchased a night cream that unknowingly had retinol in it. Everytime I used it before bed I would wake up with breathing issues! I think I am allergic to retinol 😮
Ugh, that sucks that retinol causes you breathing problems. That’s a pretty serious issue! Deodorant that works is definitely hard to find. But overall you seem very minimal in your routine! Thanks so much for watching!
Yay I didn’t know that I wanted to see this video. I knew I would have a lot in common with you, starting with fake eye lashes 😂 I probably look weird this days because is a trend.
I’ve used the brand Desert Essence and so far had a good experience with their lotions. Right now, I’m trying out Derma E for skincare and i recently bought their body lotion with colloidal oats. I like this brand so far! Thanks for watching!
I use practically none of the things or services listed and many of them I have never owned in my life. But I treat myself to a pedicure from time to time during the summer because I like to have well-groomed feet and can never do it myself as well as my beautician. I also use Botox, but this is for migraines and the fact that it helps with wrinkles is just a positive side effect 😉
I have long hair as well and you’ve inspired me to cut my own hair! Will save my husband and I so much money (he’s been cutting his for years). Really enjoying your videos Joan. ❤️
Aww I’m glad i was able to inspire in some way! It definitely took some practice. But just trim a little at a time until you get the handle for it and it gets easier. ;) thanks so much for watching!
@@karinalemus2305 i think break outs can be caused beyond face washes, like diet, hydration, etc., My skin breaks out when Ive eaten too much cheeeese. :( But of course, every skin is different and it has different tolerances. We just have to try different things out and see what works!

Few years ago I stopped applying nail polishes because i realized how harmful and toxic it is to our bodies, since then it started the way to myself natural. Now I also don't use most of the products from your list and so happy and fulfilled. I stopped dying my hair too 😊
Totally agree! There are so many toxic things women unknowingly put in or on their bodies. With just a little time and research, we can definitely find natural alternatives. Thanks so much for watching!
I think if your body reacts good without using all those products, why should you have to use it. Just the Sun protector is important. I can’t use products with parfume, I only use what I NEED to use for my skin. ♥️
That's exactly how I feel. If my body can do without it, why use it. Sometimes it does take a little try, but it's fascinating how easily our body tells us what it likes or doesn't like. Thank you for watching!

I use almond oil and 1/2 tspn brown sugar to gently scrub make up off my face. I rarely use make up but if if do I don’t buy chemical products to wash it off I use whatever I have at home . Love ❤️ advice like you have on your video. I also use a bar soap to wash my face daily and dry it off and put a small dab of vitamin E oil on my face afterwards 👍
I spent money on getting laser hair removal on lower legs, armpits and brazilian. I've done 2/6 sessions and so far so good! I got my eyebrows ombre tattooed. I pluck the stray hairs. I get a pedicure about 2-3x a year. No manicures. No lashes. Hair appointment twice a year.
