    Thanks for the video. I'm an Invisalign patient, I'm seeing a very experienced orthodontist I have challenged him but he is unwilling to do the IPR called out in my clincheck. I'm only on my 3rd set of aligners and already 1mm in total has been missed. What should I do?

      Communication is always the best solution. If your experienced orthodontist decided not to do the IPR he/she must have a good reason for that. You should ask he or she, showing your interest. Dentist and orthodontist always enjoy it when patient show interest in their treatment :)

    hi doc, does the sensitivity caused by ipr reduce with time or it stays forever

    • @theCLEARinstitute
      @theCLEARinstitute  День тому

      There should not be any permanent sensitivity coming from performing IPR. And most of the time there isn't any sensitivity during performing IPR. Scientific literature is clear on that: IPR does not create any harm to the patients. It's a safe procedure when performed the rigth way. Like a lot of other things we do in dentistry :)

    May I ask a question? On my Invisalign bag for tray #6, it says IPR and I thought it means I have to do IPR right before that tray. However, my dentist said that I should go between week 6 and 7, even after I double checked and explained the bag. I do not have access to my clearcheck. Does that mean my dentist might have changed my plan? Would one week make a difference?
    Thank you for your response and for this very informative video.

      Thank you for your question. It really depends on where and why the IPR was prescribed. Sometimes we can add a "virtual" IPR that is on the ClinCheck but that we don't do in our patient, It can also be IPR prescribed somewhere where you already have some space. There is a lot of different reason why we could postpone IPR. You did the right thing in communicating with your dentist. They probably have a good reason why they are making you go see them when they planned the treatment. We wish you great success with your Invisalign.

    How do you prefer to do ipr? With a disc or a stripe or it depends?

    • @theCLEARinstitute
      @theCLEARinstitute  Рік тому

      Good question. It depends on how much there is to remove. We prefer the bur for everything that is 0.3mm or over and diamond strips for what is less than 0.3mm. The reason is the diameter of the bur is 0.29mm. Diamond strips are on average 0.06 to 0.12mm. Can IPR cause sensitivity ?? any trouble or sensitivity issues later on in future as person gets older??

    • @theCLEARinstitute
      @theCLEARinstitute  2 роки тому

      That is an excellent question Zohra Shaik! When done properly, IPR usually does not cause any sensitivity and has no consequences on long term development of sensitivity.
