Ikr. Trott is so good at those poetic little moments, those bittersweet subtleties, that manage to find the weak spot of a scenario and dig straight into the feels. He rivals Mark's skill in that regard.
*Lucius choking on his blood and sea water* *Aila runs over and starts slapping him saying* Dont.......... Go......... into............ the .................. light
Spoilers Lucius when he comes back:”What happened? Is everyone safe?” I don’t know why but this fucking broke me Even after the closest to death he has ever came to he still cares about his crews safety more than his own......
Tom's face after that "I need someone with hands!" was the greatest! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Also spoilers below Be careful That sequester was likely Lucius' only hope. 10 minutes is 100 rounds. Even if sentry gave him 1hp per round from her lay on hands pool, that's another 60 rounds they'd have to keep healing him and making those medicine checks.
Grey Lano went before Lucius though and he only goes unconscious at the beginning of a turn that he has no air. With consistent success Grey Lano should have been able to keep air in his lungs and he wouldn't have gone unconcious all that often, so the healing should have gone a lot farther. Mark just messed up the order. Which is fine, it was compelling either way.
Like I said, all of Sentry's lay on hands healing would last 30 turns. Idk how many spell slots Quill had, but if he could burn 21 (the full amount he could've had), that's still another 39 successes that would have to be done. That's a lot of checks and a single failure would've mean Lucius' death. I'm not saying it's impossible, just that it's extremely unlikely. 39 might seem doable, but Quill was likely low spell slots which bumps that number by a lot.
@@CanadianSpectator What I'm saying is that they didn't need 100 rounds of success because Lucius wouldn't have been unconscious for all of those rounds so healing wouldn't have been necessary every round. 39 rounds is very doable over the course of 100 rounds with advantage and Grey Lano's skill level.
No, they would need 100 rounds of successful medicine checks, with 39 checks after a successful check/heal. Every time a medicine check is failed, Lucius starts suffocating and can't be healed or stabilized. Once they get a failed medicine check, they're at the mercy of death saves until they can get a successful medicine check.
@@CanadianSpectator they only need to provide healing after a Lucius goes unconscious. He won't go unconscious if she doesn't fail, so most successes will prevent them from having to expend healing magic.
To relate to Kim’s expiation at the end I feel that, Yesterday, October 14 2020 my grandmother passed away so the whole Lucius thing hit me pretty damn hard as well

Hi :3 this probably doesn’t mean much among all the other comments you see, But thank you so so much for your dnd episodes in these times. They, no joke, helped me through very dark moments,
Sorry for your loss Kim. I have been catching up on Aerois Via Podcast but this episode hit close to home for me too. I had an uncle who was close to me and he suffered a similar injury and passed. Painful stuff, also LOVE THE SHOW cant wait to get caught up.
It’s really magical when Mark gets emotional while he’s telling the story. I love the fact that they are all so invested in these characters and this world.
One armed soon to be one magic robo arm one eyed and replaced with a storm eye and half faced and in the future he will have one leg and rely on flight until nova gets him a magic robo leg
i swear Mark, I would definately watch you doing like, some kind of documentary in that style with just some camera angles and voice over with the minis and things, just honestly would really like watching a full series like that, just kind of like detailing thel ives of the little kobolds and all or have like some adventurers come in for things "and so the Firebrand tribe now come into contact with some of their unnatural predators, humans and elves from the outside who seek to raid their home. We watch as the outsiders come into contact with the traps and defenses the tribe has set in their warren and caverns. While forward scouts rush back to alert Mother Krangor of the threat."
evil is in the eye of the beholder, they just tried to live their lives and sacrifice a few people to their great frog god. can you fault them for that?
This session came out of nowhere and hit in me in the feelings hard. I feel so sorry for Kim and that pain she felt. I Have an uncle who is currently battling cancer, and a few weeks ago I saw him for what may be the last time. I'm holding out hope but his diagnosis is grim and I've been keeping my emotions bottled up and this just opened the flood gate. Amazing session, this is and will continue to be one of my favorite D&D live play sessions.
some of that fan art at the end made me cry all over again after that oh gosh. ;-; sooo awful but soo soo good. a cathartic episode for many I believe. lost a friend myself (not in the same way, but still hurts) and I used to run to them to talk about HR so now all of that just hits different. thank you Kim for that explanation, am very sorry for your loss, but this was a very healthy thing for all of us, so thank you too for that message.
Strictly for metagame's sake: Sentry could've used lay on hands 1hp per round. That would've bought them 3 minutes (30 rounds). Probably still wouldn't been enough with the whole teams spell slots and potions. If you really wanted to game it you could wait to heal until Greylano failed a medicine check, then let Lucius fail a single saving throw; at least doubling or tripling the number of rounds! (Since it's not likely that the medicine check and the saving throw will both fail, and even if Lucius crit fails his death save then he's not in danger of dying.) Glad they didn't sell that sequester scroll... though, It would've been cheaper just to raise dead!!!! heh
This episode was absolutely incredibly! I mean, the entire series is, but dammit you know what I mean lol That entire scene with Lucius after some pretty bad shit happened was just amazing. I don't want to say more to avoid spoilers, but it is definitely in my like top 10 moments... Okay, I don't actually have a top 10 list, and even if I did it would likely exceed 10, but if I did have a top 10... It would be there lmao
Sadly even if she did know to do that. They still had to do it for 10 minutes which is 100 rounds. It would have been like a defibrillator though. Just pumping him with extended life for that long, like something out of a war movie, keeping the wounded soldier alive. Very cinematic indeed. But sadly not enough.
Yeah, was a few mistakes made by them in the whole sequence, but understandable given how quickly things went to hell in a hand cart. The biggest omission was them missing that breath under suffocation has a minimum period of 30 seconds which would have meant only 20 rounds were required
@@Musikur Good point. But in this situation. You wouldnt even get a breath in to hold because your lungs being filled with water/blood. This felt more real than following book rules, im no doctor but surely a person IRL wouldnt have the luxury of a definitive 30 seconds and a breath literally the moment you had your lungs cleared out.
in the moment Sentry would’ve given everything she had to help him. I did think about the 1 hp at a time thing, but for RP purposes desperately giving all of her remaining Lay On Hands points felt more like something she’d do.

2:40:47 I like to imagine Quill just casting Disintegrate in a party member's corpse. Erase dead.
Sentry's intelligence is 8!! I did not expect that.
"You need to keep him healed for 10 minutes."
Sentry: Yeah I'll use all 30 hit points in one turn.... -_-
They really should stuff Lucius In some type of armor jesus
I know right, friends don't let friends have AC12 at high levels xD
What a great episode. Very gripping from a story telling and RP viewpoint.
Spoiler comment below
Really felt for Kim and her tears here, and welcomed her brave explanation toward end of episode. Also felt for Mark who'd been creating the dramatic situation oblivious to the exact details of Kim's loss.
Quality RP, especially by Trott. I've played 30 years and he's one of the best I've seen.
Love you all so much!
Quill is starting to look more and more like Darth Vader without his suit on every day... perhaps you guys can get him a badass dark half-mask of some kind lol.
sorry for your loss kim. that was very close to the bone
I'm a bit late, but all my love to Kim.
[SPOILERS]
I was already having a bad day and then Lucious does this. Mannnnn I'm crying and the episode isn't even done!
i absolutely love Aerois! splendid work all
Holy shit! That was really one of the most epic scenes so far, had me on the figurative edge of my seat the whole time. Well done!
Lucius sure knows how to go out in style :D
I would like to point out that the donor at 1:39:10 is a bit ignorant: anyone from ANY race (minority or not) can experience racism against them.
Similarly being from a certainty heritage doesn't exempt someone from being racist.
Lastly it's possible to be racist against one's own race.
Don't debate me about this in the comments. I'm not interested in hearing about it and it isn't what we come here for in the first place.
Thank you for this.
I just hope more people can realize this.
Yeah more people need to watch Thomas Sowell's YT videos, books and statistics shown on Officer Tatum's channel. I believe they would go a long way in healing USA.
Yes feebee said she certainly couldn't imagine being blamed for something that is not my fault" so obviously you never heard the word reparation being passed around.
At this point Quill and the Chicken from family guy have the same level of injury survivability.
How many times was Lucius bitten, eaten, or swallowed? geesh..
Best. Episode. Ever.
How many episodes have made me cry now????????
Chris Trott is a RP genius lol
I noticed last session Tom could of taken a bonus action to healing word Lucius and was never given the chance with the session ending.
FYI they put time stamps in the description
Yes let’s gooo. I look foward to your stream every single week. Today in my last period of school I went audibly “ AW SHIT ITS THURSDAY OMG A NEW EPISODE OF HIGH ROLLERS COMES OUT TODAY” let’s just say my teacher was not very happy hahaha but she couldn’t hear everything due to the masks haha. Just thought I’d let you know how much I love you guys :3
Edit: IM CRYING OVER KIM I LOVE YOU SO MUCH!
I would donate to Kim's charity but I'm not doing to hot financially 3:
Could you imagine the other timeline where lucius didn't make it
In some of the fanart, Kalus' sword just straight up looks like an RAM stick. XD
Love all of you! Love the gargantuan DT!
So am I the only one who rewinds from the part 1 time stamp just to listen to the intro music?
I'm so confused as to why the ship is firing at the turtle, and why no one is telling them to stop. As far as I remember, no one told the ship to attack the turtle. And it seems attacking it is just making it attack back.
Now that was tense...
Spoiler*****
Starts episode thinking "Oohh frog people this will be a light happy stream..." Ends episode thinking: "I'm not crying, there's sand in my eye"
53:20 "killing him dead" that's the citation I should remember
Trotts character is mega gimped when you look at his stats he is a glass cannon that misfires often
2:45:00 sending all my love to you Kim
Keep up the amazing work🤩
Omg what an episode. Amazing
I wonder what would have happened if that was a Valkyrian scroll...
I could have sworn they found the scroll when in the place they found the prime
They did, in Volcanos
Why are all the sorcerers are in trouble?!? Xikii now Lucius
12 AC man can't dodge for shit xD
