watched the clip as i have a recently purchased 2007 Freelander 2, and wanted to add some anti-freeze. the expansion tank only seems to have oil in it. the car runs fine, it hasn't been burning oil or overheating or anything i would expect when there is a problem like a head-gasket issue. i had assumed i had looked at the wrong part, at least i know it isnt that now. i guess i have a trip to the garage in my future, time to call the bank and see if i can re-mortgage
Hi there, res that does sound like the head gasket has gone, have you checked to see if there is water in your oil too you would see a foamy milky colored liquid in there? If not someone could have poured oil into the coolant reservoir by mistake? It would be unlikely but you couldn't rule it out I would flush the system refill and see if it happens again. Ross
Hi Mate, what is the coolant for LRFL 2 2013 Diesel? I got this a 2nd hand, and I was trying to check the colour of the coolant, but I can seem to figure out the colour, any idea what is the colour?
Hi there, I am pretty sure they recommend using Castrol SF coolant, it is pink in colour, have you checked the specification table in your owners manual? Unfortunately I have only ever worked on the Petrol models. Ross

Can we just top up the engine oil when the oil gets totally black colored?
if it is that black I would recommend doing a full flush and fully replace it,
Thanks buddy we just purchased a feelander 2 and I couldn't find the brake fluid compartment 😂
