"Don't drop the pick. DONT drop the pick. DONT DROP THE PICK".
*drops pick*
Me.everytime. I actually hold one all day just to force my fingers together
I somehow always drop the pick for some reason i will be playing and the pick drops it annoying but funny 😂
And this why you have spares ready to go and also learn to finger pick in emergency.
How do y'all drop your picks lol seems really foreign to me
Mind over matter, if you overthink the negatives in life you draw negativity into focus. A downhill skier thinking don't hit a tree brings the tree into focus and increases the chance of hitting a tree. Focus on positivity, the clear path in front of you and no need to worry about the trees. 🤘🏻
The middle of the solo:
Me: "What song was this again?"
facts
SO TRUE
i feel personally attacked
Especially true for Dire Straits song, because most of them are in Dm Pentatonic.
No, litterally i was solo and when i finished the song i forgot what song was next and had to remember it, bc i started the song
"I hope no one realizes I forgot where that solo was SUPPOSED to start"
Ohhh that's soo accurate, happens to me all the time 😂
that's me every single time
“Don’t fuck it up, don’t fuck it up” 😅
I literally say that out loud to myself before I go into a solo
"Shit i fucked it up"
Reminded me of my folks going to some earlier gigs of mine. My dad would come up to me after the show and say "you sounded amazing, but I could tell when you messed up simply by your face. You'd scrunch your face up occasionally and I could just tell. Sounded awesome though!" Other than him only fellow musicians have been able to call my flubs out like that.
“did i make that fuckup look intentional enough?”
So true😂
You screwed that up 3 years ago 💀💀
Never forget 😂👍
@@BernthguitarBefore i forget
That got me too - that obviously cut deep 😂😂 lold on the bus

What guitarists actually think :
*metronome sounds*
Thats prob for classical guitar
@@clikrrhrse8242thats for every kind of musician
@@clikrrhrse8242 pianist use it drummer use it even some singer use it
@@clikrrhrse8242a lot of guitarists have a metronome in their ears during shows
Almost every type of musician uses a metronome
Except modern day rappers probably
It’s usually nothing more than “I hope no one heard that” or “damn, I can’t believe I actually did it!” That or in my hood moments, absolutely nothing going on upstairs. Just a empty room with an escalator and it just there for the ride xD
You are so right😂
Honestly isn't this basically a veriation of every musician. I know as a cellist I definitely have all of those moments.
“There’s sweat in my eye but this section doesn’t allow me to wipe my forehead, I have to endure this torture”
Dude i can't relate enough. :)
I had this happen to me once and I started wearing a sweatband around my head whenever I'm in a high stress situation. It's actually really nice believe it or not, it helps keep me cool and collected
"I can't hear my guitar"
"Where are we now?"
“That guy in the front row probably hates me” had me dead
Guy in the front row:
You know they put those rings in 2,000-pound bulls noses so they can pull them around with one finger. 🤔
@@mydogatemyhomework3768 *Me:* I wonder how much longer the show will go on for.
*Also me:* I wonder how much just my spine weighs?
"I am thankful no one noticed that i skipped half the song"
For me, there is allways the: "Don't screw up, drummer, don't end the song early."
what did the drummer say before he got kicked out of the band?
"hey guys look, I wrote a song!"
Most guitarists are thinking, “man I’m so glad there’s a bassist up here to make me sound good. Nobody can tell the majority of what they think is me is actually the bassist”.
Depends on the band for that one I think. It also depends on if the guitarist is John Lennon levels of good or not
@@effen_aey_man I was just being facetious. It was a bias joke because… I’m a bassist. Was just a laugh.
@@Gimergames And you don't think I wasn't joking along with you? My nephew is a bass player and we joke all the time
Lol pretty accurate. “I hope my face doesn’t look weird. Omg this is insane why do I do this”
no one:
me during solos: "i need to take a shit... i really need to take a shit right now"
What I do on stage is sing my guitar parts in my head. It really helps me focus and keeps my head clear of all distractions
Interesting approach
Yes. I am not the only one
Smaer
Smart
mine is usually, "I haven't really practiced this in a while so hopefully muscle memory takes control" or "focus, don't fuck it up"
Yes 😊
I usually just zone out lol. Not like when you stare into space or anything, but more like I just go with the flow while I'm on stage.
What helped me when i first performed live on a reasonable big crowd (200 people) were the lights on stage, they made the crowd almost invisible, like they were fading, sorta, so i just focused on not screwing up lmao
What ryrthm guitarists think: 4 times, 8 times, 4 times...
That is so true I just performed in front of my whole school (750 people) and that is what I was thinking
Me as a Bass player:
A A A A D D E E 😂
“I’m gonna totally crush some gas station junk food after this gig”
This is SO reassuring to me. Thank you for being so honest!
holy shit this is the realest thing ever
This is so true!!!
I always tell myself that nobody cares or loves me, therefore they won't judge me. They still judge me but it helps my ego.
"you screwed that slide 3 years ago"
with best regard...the guy that hate you in First row
"Gaaah, that didn't help at all!" 😂😂
This is so true!!! Sometimes i will even start hearing a completely different song in my head at the same time and then have to regroup in my head before the next change. The mind is a funny thing sometimes!
Me every time I try to record a song flawlessly.

The way you narrate it bro 😆🤘❤️🌹
"Ok let's do it, man this is awesome" 🎸
i think putting guitars in water etc mostly :D
I truly believe that you just do your job with some focus and crystalclear mind
"Don't fuck up"
"Okay, steady"
"Oh, for this part I will need to change my whole hand position, big jump"
"Don't fuck up"
"We're doing okay"
"Don't fuck up"
"Don't fuck up"
"Shit, I fucked up, don't let anyone notice, keep playing"
At intervals of about 2-4 seconds
As a musician, I completely understand
Cracked me up with that last line ! Ha!
Loving you just for the humility of it.
Respect.
And the "AHHH I F#CKED THAT BIT UP!"
I lol'd throughout. Hilarious, my dude.
EXACTLY! This is so true - self-doubt and self-correction is my constant inner voice refrain, especially when soloing!
When I first got on stage I tried to blank everyone out. There was about 2,000 there and stage fright was setting in.
My mind wanders to the most random places when I play. That time in 3rd grade when I sneezed and farted at the same time 😂 idk what that means about me, but it is what it is
More please!! I always wanna know what they're thinking on stage
omg I did not expect this to make me laugh until I cried, literally 😂
"Just imagine everyone in the audience naked... they're too sexy"
K, i just put squidward's line
Your sense of humor is lit!
"Damn 😂, Thanks muscle memory!"
Lol so true... "is my stank face stanky enough?"
Damn, so much easier as a bassist
“Stick to the shadow and be barely audible so nobody knows you are there, then bow at the very end, perfection”
That was awesome 🤘 drums were on point, keyboard was fantastic, my man on Bass w/ the shades, guitars were amazing. Love the Talk Box. Great jam everyone 🤘🔥
I LOVE IT!!!! Brings back that ol' time performance anxiety of playing live!
Honestly I can’t think and what’s weird is when I’m improvising I literally don’t think ahead it just happens it’s like I’m not even playing guitar.
The "you screwed that one up 3 yrs ago at a show" resonated so hard with me😂
You nailed it!
Yeah, I'm always just saying "RELAX AND FOCUS" whenever I get nervous for a section, or I'm focusing on the drums to stay really tight since my band doesn't have iems or a click, and usually I'm envisioning the shapes in my head
I love how this goes for basically all instruments as well
This is absolute truth. When i play by myself, im so confident. In front of family and friends, my entire thought process gets melted instead of faces.😅
"The guy in the first row hates me and now i can't stop looking at him." Relatable 😂
Imagine everyone in the audience is a bass guitar😂
Had my first live performance with a band last week, can confirm
The first bit was pretty much what goes on in Yngwie’s head when he’s onstage 😂
Bro u killed it
My brain during shows: "I need to check that tin of soup in the cupboard when I get home. I'm not sure if it's past its expiration date. If it hasn't, I'll probably have that for dinner tomorrow..."
Autopilot is real.
The actual think is so accurate.
I usually think “damn I’m 3 songs in and my hands hurt” 😂 gonna be a long night
My day is this
"I locked my front door before I left home right? ooohh I don't think I even closed it..."
I played a gig last night drumming on stage where i was sweating bullets and all i was saying to myself was
"Damn i could kill for a bruger right now",
That is sooo true! I can totally relate to this.
also “These Lights are really bright. I wonder how big the crowd is.”
Glad to know I'm not the only one with a wandering mind while trying to perform
Thanks for the laughs at ourselves and THAT IS SO TRUE!! I have not played out in many years but Yupp that is exactly what goes on in my head when I did play out!
Hands : what's the next note?
Brain : i don't know just play it
really...my mind is clear and at peace.
Exactly, as a pianist I also feel the same on stage.. it's so hard trying to avoid small note mistakes
Skwisgar totally has the first mindset.
I love the "ok, shut UP brain" 😂😂
Time goes so fast when you're on stage, and simply would not allow you to think if you had made a mistake 1 seconds ago. All you can do it continue
"the guy in the front row probably hates me and I can't stop looking at him" 100% accurate
"If everything fails, just bend one note"
This is perfect
The guitars in my band are exactly like the first example. The humility of the second Never enters their mind.
Oh yeah. Nailed it
Can't stop looking at him is spot on 😂
Damn dude this is spot on. Here comes the bridge, dont forget the words, fuck i missed the change. Lol
This is the most relatable thing Ive seen in a long while🤣🤣🤣
Open your eyes , sing the first 4 or 5 words in your head in the right key , sure. And make sure your hands are ready to play with your mouth on your guitar. Your little fingers will become enlarged and make poor contact with everything solid. You will only hear snippets of your song and hope your still actually moving anything on your body. People will stare blankly and silent and time will almost go backwards. Suddenly you will realize the song will end soon and the release of stress and angst is palpable. You stop making noise and everyone rejoices. Your good , you can work that guitar, Wow that's why I do it 😊
and "oh shiiit!! I forgot about this part, god damn it"
This is so true!!
My mind is usually thinking about some book I read recently or whatever
I don't know why but when I'm on stage playing guitar my mind just goes blank lol
The bass player: I'm just happy to be here lol
Genuinly me almost every week 😂
Me on my latest gig:
*why can't i hear my pinch harmonics? is my guitar quiet? did my pick broke?*
I catch myself watching sports on the over bar monitors pretty regularly.
For me it's mostly "I hope I'm right about what part comes next"
Any gig I’ve ever done I was nervous and had a racing mind until I played the first note. Then, you’re just in it. If you’re thinking, you didn’t rehearse enough.
Once you get out of “thinking” you get into playing. In “the zone” it’s like you are just participating. Not trying. Not thinking. My best playing is done when I get into that “observer mode”. …like I’m watching myself play.
Much respect, btw. Loved your vid on picking technique. You’re a monster.
