TL;DR: 1. The first chess books he read were written by Reuben Fine, Irving Chernev, Fred Reinfeld. 2. The first most powerful impression: Alekhine's two volumes on his best games. 3. Tal - Botvinnik 1960 by Mikhail Tal 4. Authors mentioned: David Bronstein, John Watson, Paul Keres. 5. Any best games collections, esp. if they are annotated by the players themselves. 6. Yasser's own picks: Chess Duels & Five Crowns
GM Seirawan is an amazing role model. And my favorite commentator because he is superb to begin with, but he also demonstrates that one can be critical in analysis while being kind and generous.
Nakamura: Pffft. Why should I study the history of chess? Carlsen: 22. Bxf6? Hmm. Why that's Fischer vs. Spassky. Game 10. '72 World Championship match. Carlsen's record vs. Nakamura in classical chess: +12=19-1
Yasser is always a delight to listen to - had a very brief interaction with him during Tata Steel Chess last month and he has this calm aura that immediately makes you feel comfortable around him - very approachable and kind in the way he interacts with everyone. You can learn chess skills for sure but this inspiring personality trait is also something to learn from as well!
This is the best interview I could have wished for! My favourite chess personality gives his personal insight to my favourite chess-content creator! much love
I love this interview. Two of the greatest chess contributors are meeting here. Yasser was ni.ce to read. And now i really have to thanks Sagar for the way he explains and shared is knowledge about chess. Just for an example, i'm a chessbase 16 and 17 user and most of my knowledge are due to Sagar and for that i really need to say thank you. Merci beaucoup Sagar.
No curiosity about the truth in a game or position? He only wants to float in a kind of sympathy and feel-good spheres. I'm much more convinced by the attitude of, say, a Ljubojevic or Hübner. But truth is highly unpopular in this declining age of feeling orientation and is often even completely ignored and denied. Seirawan seems to be an exemplary representative of this ("postmodern") time and attitude. Hopefully only in chess.
Everyone repent of your sins and turn to Jesus, for by grace are ye saved through faith that not that of yourselves it is the gift of God. Ephesians 2:8
Appreciate you sharing the Word of God bro but most people do not know the context of Ephesians 2:8. You have to explain that God offers eternal life but you cannot pay for it, it is a gift and you have to accept it but it has a condition which is, you will now follow Christ. Otherwise the other option is eternal death. The belief that we have an immortal soul is a lie. Only God can give eternal life. So, it is logical to try to know who Jesus is.

GM Seirawan is an amazing role model. And my favorite commentator because he is superb to begin with, but he also demonstrates that one can be critical in analysis while being kind and generous.
He is also 2 times world championship candidate.

Seirawan and Sagar in the same video! Amazing! Sagar, you are a young Yasser... many of us learn so much from you! Thank you for everything!
Winning chess strategies by Seirawan is my most important early books.. It really has great impact on the way i understand chess..
I am always amazed at Sagar. His default setting is "heart to heart talk". In today's world it is so refreshing to have such a genuine human being.
Excellent presentation by nikhilesh for promotion of chess.
I enjoyed Yasser’s Winning Chess Brilliances, Five Crowns, and Chess Duels. One of the best chess authors, in my opinion.

MICHAEL Tal. LOL. I think Yasser pronounces everybody's name wrong on purpose and is just trolling everyone.

This a chess video man

Jesus is the heir of the Universe. It is prudent to try to find out if this statement is true or not.
