Nice job well done!i love watching what you do to your barchetta.to improve the idling and starting give the throttle body and idling valve a clean too. Your starter motor needs a clean too!!let us know if it passes the test.🙏
Thanks! Glad you're enjoying the videos! Good idea, I'll probably do the idle valve etc in a future video. Didn't know the starter motor could be cleaned, thought I needed to replace it??
@@pauliecabsits the pinion on the armature that's causing the noise because its gripping ,needs to be cleaned and lubricated .if you do take it off check the carbon brushes too 😉
Mine failed itv yesterday on emissiones !!! Ive looked underneath and tightened a couple of the joins on the exhaust, so hope that does the trick. If it doesnt, then think i will buy new lambda sensor ?!!
Emissions seem to be a problem for Barchettas! The previous owner fitted a new lamda sensor when I bought the car to get it through the ITV. Hopefully this year it will be OK! Good luck with the re-test!
Sorry, but I'm not an expert in these things but apparently negative fuel trim can be caused by a number of different things. The MAF sensor is one but also including plugs, injectors, air leaks, weak fuel pump. Maybe someone else reading the comments can help? Also try the Barchetta groups on FB. They can be very helpful.
@@pauliecabs Thanks, I already contacted the Dutch forum and some mechanics. But apparently the knowledge about Fuel Trims is very restricted. The car has normal maintenance and fuel pressure is good.
@@pauliecabs Yes, I use MultiEcuScan. The interface which you need differs dependent on model year. My barchetta is from 1997 so no OBD2 is present. So you need a 3 pin to 16 pin converter.
Brilliant thanks, good luck on itv! Can't wait for the next one
Thanks, it's coming soon!

Thanks! It's been noisy since day one. I will give it a try!
@@edo.r1324 Same noise on mine occasionally after its sat for a while. Thanks for sharing the info!

Thanks! Cleaned my MAF sensor as well. But I have negative fuel trim when I diagnose my barchetta. Can the MAF sensor cause this problem?

Do you have your own OBD scanner? Which one do you use?
