    I remember being a kid back in 1981 or 1982 and playing Gorf at Aladdins Castle at Willowbrook Mall in Houston, Texas. I was doing great in the game and got a really high score and I had a bunch of people cheering for me, after I was done I went outside of the arcade and this lady came up to me and told me how great I was and she bought me some candy and drinks, it was one of the best moments of my life, I'll never forget it!!!!

    Having or going to a birthday party at Aladdin's was maybe *the* most exciting thing as a kid.

    I managed one of these arcades. There was a really awkward period around 1999 when the mall personally handed ME the rent bills that weren't getting paid by Namco because they were in the process for filing chapter 11. At that point, I knew how much money the rent was, how much each employee made and the daily/weekly/monthly income.
    The particular store that I managed was profitable at that point, but not by much. I know our store would usually get privilege over receiving the new latest games.

      Wow, thanks for sharing the inside details on the store. You had a better view of the overall health of the store vs being a casual employee who just showed up for their shift. Nice. Thanks for that!

    I managed the one at the Crossroads Mall in Raleigh County West Virginia from 1984 until 1994. This video brings back fond memories.

    I remember every Saturday morning my aunt would pick me up and take me to the mall. This is one of the many places that I’d go to during the day and we’d spend the whole day until the late afternoon. Best time to be alive in the 90’s.

    I was born in the 90s and remember going to Aladdins Castle 26 years ago at the Del Amo Mall in Torrance CA. It was the best spot to go to as a kid and always try to get as many tickets i can get to a big prize. Loved this place and it broke my heart after i found out it shut down and the spot was being demolished to make more room for the new Del Amo outdoor village in 2002. Thank you for the memories this video is great.

    This video is nearly a word for word creation of matty mo's video 2 years ago.

    • @EricCProductions76
      @EricCProductions76  2 роки тому +2

      Never saw Matty Mo's video. What is their channel? I would love to see their video. Just so you know, many people do videos on the same subject. I personally do not watch other people's videos until I finished producing my own take on the company. Then after I am done, I will watch others. I like to be objective and not influenced by other UA-cam channels. So, if I did a word by word creation, maybe we both found similar sources on the topic.

      @@utubepunk thanks for noticing that, I went back to my video and you are correct. I do go back and watch other's videos for visual content...such as footage of the store, I use other resources when I am giving information about the store. I want to put my own spin on the company history, not copy word for word the other person's video. If that was the case, I would simply repost that creators video with the same audio which I wouldn't do because then I would be simply doing a commentary or critique on their video like some other creators do to other channels. Thanks again.

    One of the best small arcades I went to as kid. It was inside a mall between a Montgomery Ward & a Music Land. They had Killer Instinct, two Sega actual hologram cabinets, & was the only place that had Ninja Warriors on 3 screens.
