Saucony Kinvara 12 will be interesting. Aspecially since the new Saucony endorphin modells are doing well. Have you done any fast runs in Endorphin PRO @BenParkes? And I look fwd to new lightweight & fast Altra shoes🙏
Thanks for the review!! I've gone through two pairs of the first version and got about 500 miles from each...Definitely agree...not a quick shoe at all, but perfect for easy/recovery runs.
Great video as always Ben! I would recommend trying a premiere for one of these. That way maybe people can ask you questions during the 10 or so minutes which you can answer. Works well on my channel and yours has a far larger community than mine 👍
I agree with your review 100% I initially ordered this years model but didn’t like the colour way so sent back and got last years model for cheaper and my foot was sliding around not locked in, the addition to the fly wire and loose tongue locks down your foot
Thanks for the review Ben. As a long time Nike user who has got sick of their heavy shoes these will not be for me. I have a big foot too (US SIze 13) and all these React shoes from Nike are just way too heavy and clumsy. The Peg 37 has been a shocker for me and I hate the things. The only thing they have going for them is the outsole is hard wearing. I'm sticking with the NB 1080's and Endorphin Speed's and may have a look at some Novablast's soon. Nike need to pull their finger out as the Next %'s are all I enjoy from them ATM.
Hey, Ben, I see that your running form changed a bit recently, you seem to have a more relaxed, higher back kick. Anything specific that you are focusing on, drills, workouts? Or maybe it is lower cadence than usual?
The first version of this shoe was a lifesaver for me! Allowed me to run without injury over 2020, whereas my Peg Turbos left me with shin splints. Even did a few races in it. Interested to see how this new one works for me.
Do shoes really make that much of a difference? I have a pair of Asics, what's the difference overall in terms of injury/performance/comfortability? Apologies I'm a new runner, appreciate the help 👍
@@matthewbirkin3213 everyone's different and every foot is different. I've tried Asics and they just didn't work for me. It's about finding what suits you, what's comfortable (everyone's different in what they find comfy too), and what makes you want to keep running. If your Asics are good for you then there's no need to change. If you want to try different shoes then go to a running store and talk to the people there and try on loads of different shoes. Hope this makes sense. Happy running.
Great video as always Ben, I always enjoy how you match up the beat of the music to changes of the video! Got some 1080v10 in the mail right now, can't wait to try them out!
I managed to get the first iteration on heavy discount and enjoyed them up to 90 miles so far. Like the wide platform, very comfy, not very quick but thats not the purpose. However the heel slippage does worsen, and the lacing is poor so this looks like a good upgrade!
Great video Ben!! Would really like it if you could recommend /review any stability shoes. I'm aware your a neutral runner but Me being an overpronator really struggle with finding light stability shoes. Shame the so called stability of the first infinity reacts didnt support my ankle at all 😞
These would be great for you especially if you are targeting a 2:20 Marathon, I'm looking to get a 2:20 Marathon and think this could be a good shoe to incorporate/rotate throughout my runs
Nice review, thank you. I've not run in Nike shoes for ages; I use the Saucony Kinvara for speed workouts and the Altra Torin and Altra Paradigm for recovery. What is the drop on the Nike Infinity React 2, and what does it actually feel like?
Good review Ben, I have a couple of pairs of version 1 which I really enjoy and I don't get the heel slip when running. Think I'll give this shoe a miss, I'll probably get the invincible as it has zoom X foam. Looking forward to seeing what you think of it when it drops.
If you are flat feet that indicates weakness in the foot. Supporting that with arch support is just going to make the foot weaker which will make the problem worse. The solution to flat feet is to strengthen the foot
Great review I have the first editions and I didn’t get on with them at all when running I got inner arch and heal pain from wearing these but comfortable just as a pair of trainers
I got the first version of these recently in the Nike sale for £68 and for somebody with even longer feet than you (UK 13) but relatively narrow they were indeed rather poor lockdown and, as you say, not a fast shoe at all but that said having tugged in the laces as much as possible they have been OK for short "recovery" runs. Would certainly have gone for this 2nd version out of choice but maybe questionable at full price. I like Nike shoes but equally just seem to be getting heavier and heavier. Will see if ZoomX Invincible is worth picking up instead of this shortly. I am trying to avoid buying shoes I probably won't like much but often "fail" when comes to these popular ones.
Good review ( my thanks as an ageing runner, trying not to fall apart) How about any of the zero drop Altras? Was considering one on my last purchase last summer but ended getting Saucony Freedom Iso 2 , which has a 4mm drop I believe,, and is fine but I’m forever trying to get the lockdown right. However I tie the laces, I get up to and find it feels too tight or else my foot has slipped.😣 Keep up the good work 👍
Interesting review. Amazing that the 1080 is still kicking goals. Looks like a good shoe for chewing through the ks. I’m battling with the question around running on concrete too much. There are not dirt tracks within a 40 minute drive of home. Would a shoe like this assist with the impact of concrete or do I still need to go searching for dirt tracks?
Can you do a running shoe collection? Just interested to see what you have and what runs you use them for. Ones you keep but find you don’t use and ones you use all the time etc
I hated the first verisons i practically gave them away. The upper was like wearing paper shoes. I hope these new version 2's are much better; and judging by the upper it's the type of upper (thicker like a normal shoe) that I like..
My biggest concern is what is going on with the Nike team of designers and engineers? The Nike Run division clothing line of this year was also heavier and more stiffer than previous years. I had to weigh the clothes cause I knew something was off about them. That weight on those shoes is a turn off for me, besides the colorway.
Ben, CarbonX suits you (colour coordinating, anyway). Best regards from this Ben in Sydney! PS. How are your Tempo Next% tracking? I've split my soles, on pairs 1 & 2!
Hello Ben! Love the channel. I’m a Nike guy, so for my easy (sometimes long) runs I used my Pegs, even knowing that they can be used for more speedy workouts. For tempos, fartleks and other sessions I def use a faster shoe (tempo next, zoom fly). Would you recommend getting these new React Infinity for my rotation or or at all? Im not injury prone (knock on wood) and maybe feel that if I add these I will feel them slow compared to the rest of my rotation. What you think? (Anybody feel free to respond)
I don't own these but do own 3 pairs of the version 1s (and a pair of peg 36s), and I can't recommend them enough. To me, these are just way way more comfortable for longer runs and are insanely durable. I usually wear out shoes in 500k, and the inifinity reacts last well past 800k and still give really good energy return. I got one pair last year because I though they looked cool (yes, shallow) and then ended up becoming my favorite shoe.
I got the 1080v10 recently and really enjoying it. On the watch out for another pair but Brexit is making things more expensive to ship to Ireland as custom and possible tax if no Irish tax paid on it if sent from UK
Would the React Infinity be a good alternative to the Brooks Adrenaline GTS? I am an over-pronator with borderline narrow/flat feet, bunion and mild plantar fasciitis right foot). I run a 5k on the road 4 times per week.
I am a former basketball player 150 kg, 1.91 cm tall. I stand for about 4 hours a day. I don't have a problem with flat feet. I have a normal foot structure. I currently have adidas swift r2 shoes, they are old and I will buy a new model. Which would you recommend me adidas ultraboost or nike react infinity?(or Nike zoom x invincible ) Also, my wife is 75 kg and 1.70 cm tall. He teaches 8 hours a day standing up and has problems with overpronation and flat feet. It uses the Asics Kayano 27. Can you recommend ultraboost ,nike react infinity or Nike zoom x invincible to my wife? Or should Asics continue to wear Kayano?
@@BenParkes yes totally agree! The cushioning on the Infinity React 2 is definitely firmer than the Pegasus 2 (Goretex) which was a surprise for me ...
Hi Ben, thanks for the review. I was wondering if the Infinity React 2 could be considered qualified for wide feet? And are these different from the previous version in that respect (although you hated them haha)? Greetings from Amsterdam. Best, Daan.
Excited to bring you the Nike Invincible very soon! What shoes are you excited about next?? (Will try and get them in!)
Hoka Carbon X2, obviously :)

£68 for the A.I.R version 1 of these in the winter sales. Billy bargain. Much easier on the legs than the Epic React I was easy running in previously.
