You can smuggle chocolate into American cinemas by replacing your gun magazine with a Snickers
can 100% confirm this works
One tip, don't go for the back seats that they charge a premium for. Especially in big cinema halls. Go for slightly back from centre. It keeps your head in line with the screen. The screen fills your vision more too. Rather than looking down on the screen at the back of the cinema.
I always try to pick the middle seat of the whole theatre lol
@@Sriram-ig6prme too. Although sometimes 1-2 rows back from centre seems to be the best spot.
I notice a wide sound spectrum when i sit in the centre of the hall, it really makes the movie more immersive.
@@OmPrakashSahu.legend Yes, quite right! Another benefit, proper surround sound imaging.
middle seats is what i always go for anyway. front seats end up hurting your neck, too much looking around, back seats are too far, i feel like it's mostly couples who don't want to be bothered and all who sit back there.
The best thing about Indian cinemas compared to here in the UK is being able to buy hot samosas during the interval, the worst is that people just don’t stop talking throughout the film!
I watched Animal recently, and someone had brought their crying baby to the theatre. Yup, food options are great in Indian cinemas, and they deliver to your seat.
There should be large posters in movie theatres:
*"Crying babies would be confiscated 👶🏼🚫"*
I Saw animal on Netflix and I lost interest after 30 mins
Australian cinemas have hot food such as pizzas, samosas and chips in gold class. You can also get booze delivered on a schedule; "One beer now, then 3 more, 1 every 30 minutes". Only problem is they won't pause the film while you pee ...
@@maxpayne69.Bro where to keep those confiscated babies🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Another recent thing is many cinemas in Delhi are now playing Indian films with English subtitles! So make sure you book those screenings and enjoy some great Indian films.
The exact ticket price in New York was $18.94 incl. tax, and the New Delhi cinema was ₹321 or $3.87 incl. tax! Both were day time shows. Mind blowing.
crazy, another reason i don't go to movie theatre's too, too expensive!
Support the fraudulent Sound of freedom, welcome to block.
Prices: I used to work at a theater. It costs the theater roughly $1million(usd), or more, to rent the film reels. The theater then does not get any ticket profit for the first week, (sometimes the second if it's expected to be a blockbuster) and then 1/4 to 1/2 from ticket sales the next week. Typically the theater gets 90% or so of ticket sales only after about 4 weeks, and if the movie isn't doing well, notice they don't keep it for longer than 2 or 3 weeks. What the movie production company doesn't get, concession sales. So food and drinks are highly inflated prices on really cheap foods. So, if a lot of people see a movie in the first 2 weeks, then the theater tends to keep it around for a bit to get some profit on it, but if it is bad, they get rid of it as soon as they are contractually allowed and will sometimes put in another showing of a different movie to try to make up the loss. That's why they really don't want outside food and drinks, because a lot of the time, those sales are the only money they are actually getting for a good amount of time. I'm not sure how the new digital delivery works, but probably still have to pay upfront for the access as if it was a physical reel.
Thanks for the explanation.
I rarely say "shocking" but this is how the greed of the movie production and distribution companies(such as 20th century fox) makes me feel. It seems the deal is made to be only in their favour and on top of that also designed to be in the detriment of the movie theater and it's customers. It makes ticket prices ridiculously overpriced for customers and almost impossible to make a profit forthe movie theaters. I am considering boycotting the whole movie industry
@@johnwayne2140won't boycotting the movie industry also hurt the theatres? (This is a genuine question btw)
1 mill? kinda hard to believe
The theaters are okay with this arrangement. If they are not, then they can simply stop buying movies and get out of this business.
But they make profits. Also, theaters can unionize so that they all agree to not accept bad buying conditions.
Want to check out a Bollywood movie? Here's my recommendations for foreigners new to Hindi cinema: Dangal, Queen, 12th Fail, Wake Up Sid. Enjoy
Andhadhun and barfi are some other great one's too.
Imagine not recommending the movie Rocketry. Karl, if you haven't watched the movie btw, you should give it a try. The first half goes a bit technical but the movie in its entirety is just chef's kiss.
The Delhi cinema was PVR Prashant Vihar (Namaste Rohini 🙏). And in New York, AMC Kips Bay 15.
Bro my school is near like a 2 minute walk there u should come visit 😅😅
@@kushagrasethi1248 My wife went to school nearby 😉
@@KarlRock oh lol did she like it? XD
You went to Kips Bay? Bhai, you could have gone to one in downtown for the same price with better seats.
Those recliner seats are so good! If the movie is bad at least I can get my money's worth in a good sleep lol 😂
So true! That cinema is world class. Best I’ve ever seen.
Ps. It's called PVR Director's Cut.
Sometimes those damn seats are so comfortable I fall asleep even when I'm interested in the movie!
It's a shame the Indian cinema had technical issues! It's not usually like that. This isn't a scientific comparison, just my experience over two consecutive days.

@@rajeshgajwelly9035as in cooked with shit???? Yuck, how disgusting can 1 country be
Perhaps one of the reasons for the proverbial "pat down," is to prevent (or at least reduce the incidence of) some people trying to sneak in betle nut with lime/similar products.
Those red stains are impossible to clean and there are quite a few people who spit indiscriminately in public spaces and who also rub the excess lime on the seats/walls/floors.
My local theater here in US does a discount on Tuesdays. All tickets are $5.50 per person.
Great piece of info. Thanks for uploading
I’m a New Yorker and I found it really cool that you went to the exact movie theater that I went to during my high school days! (AMC Kips Bay) Also I think you should know that tickets used to be only $5 every Tuesday back in those days. That theater is way nicer than the touristy AMC or Regal locations near Times Square.
It's nice to see your better half with you KR, the way it should be (when possible). :)
Sound of freedom really dude?

Thanks for useful and informative video as always ❤❤❤
That price for that comfort is so worth it! The luxury seats seem to be incredibly comfy
Forget the pricing. I want to know what do you think of the concept of intermission in India cinemas?
People seem to have mixed feelings about it
I thought about including that. I don't mind it... because it's a convenient toilet break during a long movie.
@@KarlRock I agree. But I've heard the counter argument that people don't want intermissions during movies because it breaks the flow of the story, specially in western films
@@KarlRock Exactly, forget about getting drinks in an Indian movie in the US...lol
@@shreym03 yeah, it does break flow in English movies. Bollywood films have an interval included in the edit. Although it still kind of breaks the flow too, but at least it’s usually well placed.
How much are ticket prices in your city?
Couldn’t tell ya. Haven’t been to a theater in probably 7 years 😂
about 2$ in a weekday
@@ScatWilliams69 I went to the Vue in the VIP section last month with an offer that’s was on. £7 for 2 tickets. We took our own snacks and drinks in a bag.

Did you say "Nahi Chahiye ji" to expensive popcorn?
Once you get away from the big cities, ticket prices are cheaper, Moore theaters it is only six dollars with reasonable concessions pricing.
What are the food and drink prices in India cinemas,?
I love Indian cinemas.
The cbfc on the other hand...
They neuter many films under the guise of censorship.
It's because of them (and forced intervals) that our cinema experience is not perfect. But the cinemas we have right now are infinitely better than the ones we had in the past.
Cbfc must be banned
first! love your videos!
I don't go to American theaters. It's just highway robbery. Costs $20 just to get in. But you can sneak in anything you want.
Some theaters here have a full menu and wait staff, along with beer and other drinks.
I can't wait to see an Indian theater.
I never felt any difference in the sound or image quality in Indian vs North American Cinemas. Outside the hall, stuff can be extremely different, inside it's one and the same.
It’s expensive depending on on what time you go in the US, plus Hollywood movies don’t have intermission
I’ve just never been to a ‘luxury theatre’ before, we don’t have many of those in Canada… but it seems like the most legit way to go to the movies these days compared to the circus it used to be when i was younger lol.
I think it depends on the cinema, state, and city you’re going. Most branch cinemas are just normal but the US does have luxury theatres with lounges and hot foods like steak or salad. Some are basically the same price people would pay for XD tickets at a regular movie theatre and prices vary from state. I live in Cali and things are expensive but not as much as New York. We’ve been to other states were things are cheaper
Ah! India, India! I am so drawn to India!
We went to a cinema in Udaipur and it was awesome... people stood for the national anthem before the movie started. If something bad happened on screen the audience would boo, if something good happened they would cheer, if lardki appeared on screen they would whistle. Such an experience!
hehe
Awesome
That cenema looks insane wow looks like Hollywood palms but better
Great vid karl! I would kick off if i went to see a film and a security guard wanted to find my jub jubs 😂 and food and drink is a rip off at the movies in the uk
I went to theatre in Patna in Winter wearing jackets still they didn't checked
In US AMC offers membership and stuff. I remember I had monthly membership in AMC in 2018-2019 where I paid around 22 USD per month and I could watch 3 to 4 movies every week. I used to watch 4 to 5 movies every month.
I suppose NYC is comparable to Delhi in population density but it's notoriously much much more expensive in NYC than other places. The new(er) luxury IMAX theater here (Des Moines Iowa--well a suburb) is $17 for fully reclining seats with hepatic vibrations tuned to the movie to really immerse you in the action-- the popcorn and soda is extra and the same robbery as anywhere else but you can instead order like cafe style food-- chicken tenders/burgers and the like--are actually comparable prices to something like chik fil'a anyway.
In the UK they dont pat you down and i always bring my own snacks. You didnt mention if that was possible in NY?
Why don't I get the same feel about the old Karl Rock.
I don't think you can go anywhere in India without a security check. Lol! When I was in Mumbai, I went to Shoppers Stop & we went through security to enter.
A failed society.

Do they have matinees in India? Usually mid-day, or one day a week in America(generally Tues), ticket prices will be reduced.
They do. Matinees, as a concept, was around in India since way back in the 70's when I first started watching movies in India.
I saw top gun at a pretty nice theater in Kolkata, only complaint was the amount of people taking phone calls during the movie 😂
I've never had an unfocused movie screen. I normally go to pvr and sometimes inox. Never experienced a screen like that
The US prices for tickets are insanely high
go to a good mall bro
india from top class to cheapest thing you can make its great

I haven't gone to the movies since they closed the drive-in.
touching the body should be as like in airport. But PVR security guys does too much body frisking.
this is very uncomfortable.
Should be?! Getting frisked when seeing a movie is Orwellian. What on earth and why?
When I was over for work in Chennai, I found this cinema in a mall with a 4D experience. It was the wildest and whackiest experience in my life; being blasted with compressed air and being violently shaken in my chair. All for about £3
Very difficult in comparison of USA and India,, definitely you know well 😊
Indian prices, without Indian movies! (Can't stand singing & dancing in movies) Ha! In Stockholm it's $18.8
AMC A-List. $22 per month for 3 movies every week in all formats. That's about $1.60 per movie!

Karl bhai... You should definitely experience single screen theatres in India... 😅
Choose a mass masala entertainer and vlog it...
I Admire your work bhai ❤
My Mother watched a movie for $0.05 in Columbia MO in the United States. The movie was called the Great Train Robbery, and she probably saw it around 1912. She told me it was seen in a tent outdoors.
One of the first movies in history with a plot!
Yes, i've heard that. Mother told me that there were some scenes where the camera was on the tracks very low to the ground and when the train headed toward the camera a number of the people watching the movie screamed with fright.
Do they pat you down for safety reasons or is it purely for brought in food
Safety reasons.
I just pirate everything, bhai - don't sic Sony on me
Seats Are unreal in India here in NZ where I am Sitting on wood box be better well almost
If in my country cinema tickets same as Usa or uk, i would pay flight tickets, and the hotel has a short trip and comes back. Enjoy the rest of my life
I thought I was the only one who heard terminator song in loo. Have seen this mainly in inox chains in Bangalore 😅.
Such a strange song to pee too haha. Anyway, it's one of my favourite theme songs.
I'm from Kerala and here there's no security like that and patting you all over before entering cinema. You can bring your own snacks, noone is checking it. Also never had any screen issues, always super clear and subtitles, if any, are clear and matching well. 👌🏻
me too, but we are patted down
@@BasedHSVdude oh wow, so maybe just the cinemas in my area don't do that 😅 lucky me 😁
Yeah after so much terrorism attacks on Delhi pretty sure the checking is compulsory and even some places photography isn’t allowed
I should hope that is the norm in civilised places. A metal detector is insane. The treats cost exorbitant amounts here as well - as I suspect it's everywhere - but you can bring your own without concealing them. People still mostly opt to buy them from the theater.
@@M.Jez11 It happens in Hyderabad, I am from Andhra Pradesh
I have felt that PVR screens are better than the ones we have in INOX. INOX screens lacks brightness and clarity. Beverages prices are about the same. Do American cinemas offer free drinking water like we have here?
I try go for the newer screens in India. Some cinemas will tell you the technology they're using. I watched the Beekeeper recently at Cinepolis NSP2 on a brand new 2D laser projector - it looked great. Yup, you'll get free drinking water in U.S. You just ask for a cup of water at the food counter.
Good to hear that. keep up the good work Karl sahab!!@@KarlRock
I live in the Philippines and don't go to the cinema anymore.
Too many people talking to each other, making and receiving phone calls as well
I can't even begin to grasp. People here are very mindful not to bother others in public. For example in trains, there's a seperate booth in order to receive phone calls and if people discuss amongst friends sitting next to them, they do it reservedly and quietly in public transport. They'd whisper in cinema were it necessary to say something. Cultural differences, I guess.
We know why you enjoyed it Karl 🤪
What's the A word that's censored?.
So all that search for snacks?!!!😂
Favorite movie snack, Karl?
Karl be like i didn't come here to convert but i was the one who got converted 😂
That's extortion prices in NYC 😂 In KY I can see a new movie for $5 where I live. The theater is really nice too. The food is always ridiculous priced, but like you said, just put your stuff in your lady friends purse and you're good 😂

I wouldn’t mind those metal detectors in theaters. I always felt security is non existent in the USA
You are ill. Why would there be a need for security at a movie theater?

@KarlRock I’m amazed to see how theatres in US don’t do any security checks..!! I didn’t expect that only India is doing it.Even carrying a water bottle is restricted in some theatres .. And Yeah it feels like smuggling some packs of chips to the theatres..😂😂
Even in India Cinemas the theater movies are bootlegged.
Bollywood is getting big here in Netherlands at the biggest cinema chain Pathe Watching Fighter with 3D IMAX + nachos, popcorn + parking ticket is insane compared to Delhi. But forsure if you go to the right place in Delhi or Mumbai with recliner seats and service the price is very justified compared to USA/Europe. They don`t even have the luxury service what they have in India so be happy xd that for the same ticket price from USA, in India you can actually watch and enjoy in the right place.
Although it’s interesting to see the comparison, it’s not really comparing apples to apples. First of all, NYC is one of the most expensive places in the world so don’t be surprised by the sticker price. Second, if you want do a fair comparison, a “luxury”cinema in the US should have been shown. I went to a couple luxury movie theaters in the west coast. One of them had a nice restaurant and a bar inside the theater. If you choose not to eat at the restaurant, you can also order from your seat. Your seat is a big and comfortable leather recliner. The waiter brings the food and drinks to you (you must order before the movie starts). There was also a live musical performance to entertain you before the movie starts. When I went, a musician was playing his acoustic guitar. The other one I went was less fancy in Washington. No plush chairs but your food will be delivered to your seat. Tickets that I paid for these theaters were less than your average NYC price.
hate when they jiggle me jubjubs n knock around the tuckerbag
In my opinion I like Indian cinema better INOX movie theater in nadiad Gujarat I went absolutely fantastic here in US everything it’s outdated

You forgot to mention one great thing about Indian cinemas. There is an actual break during intermission. In the US, in most theaters they play the movies straight thru with no break.
I'd like the Indian pricing if salary was the same as in the US...lol. AMC movie club in the US is only ~$20-25 per month (NY $25) for 3 movies per week including the expensive ($20+ IMAX and Dolby) movies.
We live in an area where there's a bunch of Malayalis, so we're lucky to get some of the Malayalam flicks along with Hindi, Telegu and Tamil stuff...
I always wondered why Indians in the US sit at the back of the cinema, until I found out that they are premium seats in India. But the best movie experience is usually not in the back because of surround sound.
Too expensive in oz i used to go every other week
I'm ashamed to say, the cinemas in Belgium are visually comparable to the Indian one. No luxury, but you do get to pay the premium price.
