April 15 2024 - UPDATE 2: After storing them for the winter and running Michelin X-ICE Snows, I just put back on the Sailuns and took a wear measurement. Shows about 7.6/32nds now, from about 9+/32nds new. This is after driving last year on them for about 9,000kms. So based on this wear, should be able to get 4 seasons out of them, about 40,000kms or so I would say. They are rated by Sailun for 80K or 5 years, however the reality is IMO less. Still this is better than the previous stock OEM Michelin Privacy where they lasted me 2.5 seasons. I'm quite happy with these and they handle great, and are very very quiet.

Sairen started to promote Erange Tires in China this year. the tire tread pattern seems to be different from the US version, but both use the liquid mixed silica technology. My Cadillac CT6's gas consumption has dropped about 10% since I replaced the S01s. While my home state is presumably the largest producer of tires on the planet, I'm more than pleased with some of the technological innovations. Looking forward to seeing your next post on this !

They've done a great job and I am monitoring tread wear and will document when I do a tire change over to winters in December. I would also say I am seeing a 5% range increase with these, as my average warm weather efficiency in my Model 3 LR is about 11kWh/100kms, which is down a bit from before. Without running the AC of course and normal city driving. I am very impressed with these tires and the company.
If they partner with Costco in California (Bay Area) I’ll totally buy them on my Tesla model S. I normally get my tires at Costco. But good review. I appreciate the video

I had Michelin all seasons premium top of the line (PREMIER MXV4) passager tires proudly made in CANADA. Haha! Great famous performance with a big famous name. It actually drives pretty good. Everything went south👎👇 In only 3 1/2 years dry rots with only about several hundreds of fine cracks lines on all sidewalls of all 4 tires smiling at me. Brought it back to COSTCO with its famous posted black and white powerful warranty behind their beans counter. They blamed me for all the dry rots and all the sidewalls cracks. With a big no no instore warranty claim or adjustment. They asked me a double sword question of " Do you use tire shine or not?" Guess what ? I said " YES". He replied back " You shouldn't be supposed to use any tire shine or rubber preservatives products ." They give me Michelin's own representatives toll free number to deal with me. The Michelin Co. representative tells me to go to one of their independent privately owned tire shop near me to get another evaluation. Guess what? The same tire dressing question? He ask me do I use any tire shine products again. I quickly realized it's a double-edged sword question. If you use tire dressing products, it means you are using chemicals are a no-no for the Michelin tires. If you said you don't use tire dressing products, which means you don't take care of your tires. It ends up another no and forfeit warranty claim. Then the Michelin tire rep, give me another tire shop located much farther away from this location for me to get another evaluation for warranty claim. I realize this is just another RUNABOUT GAME Michelin played to F#*k me up to get rid of me from warranty claim. No warranty claim on a 5 years FAMOUS Warranty. I will never look at MICHELIN tires again after this HALL OF SHAME GAME 🎮 they played on consumers like me. I paid.

Now I have 2 Teslas myself and got a set of Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 4 for my 2018 Model 3 last year which is a very nice but it’s not special design for EV

Hey Ken your car has some lowering spring and do you like the ride even t 3 are know for being a bit stiff oem just make sure your car has a proper alignment so your tires are going to last longer plus you are going to get better range.
Thanks for watching. No, I don't have lowering springs. I did put in the Mountain Pass Performance Comfort Kit for Model 3 LR, and you can see my video on that back from late 2020/early 2021. This is a complete coil-over replacement for all stock struts and springs. It is set at max ride height, which lowers it from stock by 1cm (10mm). I did not get the fully adjustable kit as I don't track my car and just wanted a set and forget kit. Yes, the stock OEM suspension is very stiff in my opinion, so I could not wait to replace it. The MPP kit did lower the car a bit, but not to the extreme as others. My alignment is bang on and it's just a fact that tires won't last as long on a BEV then a comparable ICEV, due to more weight, torque and other factors. Which is fine. I got about 30,000 kms on the stock Primacys which is what I expected. If I can get two seasons out of these ERange, I'd be happy with that. I do a lot of driving, over 25,000 kms per year, so that is fine. Appreciate your info.
I’m picking up a set of the Sailun E-Range tires for my Model Y Performance tomorrow morning. Got about 22K miles out of our Pirelli tires. It’s about to rain here in SoCal (Dec 18, 2023) and we’re about to go into an El Niño year. I’m hoping these work out well in the rain.

April 24 UPDATE: Sailun has released a Treadwear rating of 600, a Traction rating of AA, and Temperature Rating of A. (600 AA). My stock size of 235/45R18 have a Speed Rating of 98W. W is for up to 270 km/h (168 m/h). It's been noted to me that certain Tesla's can have higher speed capabilities than what these tires are rated for. I would say that if you plan on driving the AutoBahn, or no-speed limit roadways, then look for another tire that can handle the highest speed you will want to achieve in real life, presuming this is more than 270 km/h. Otherwise, for the vast majority of us who do not have the luxury of no-speed roadways, I can live with tires that support up to 270 km/h (168 mi/h) speeds, as I will never ever go that fast. Not unless I want my car impounded, loose my license and go to jail. I have a set on my 2017 Model S. I am very happy with them so far, even with 21" wheels. The car rides smoothly and handles very well. I have decided not to go with Michelins as I am not a fan of all the hype. Every car I have owned that came with Michelins I never replaced them with Michelins. But that's me. Sailuns are good in my opinion.

However, these are all-seasons so they will handle the occasional light snow ok, but anything more you should get dedicated good snow tires. I really like the Michelin XICE for winters, to me they are the best.
Hi, yes it does, however doing a quick look in shopping for other manufacturers, the stock OEM Michelin Primacy's I am seeing for about $450 per tire, the Yokohama ADVAN Sport at $298 each, the Pirelli P Zero AS Plus for about $250-$320 each, etc etc. So this pricing for Sailun seems to be competitive.

Thanks for watching. It's very hard to do this as the weather changes daily here, and my driving needs vary day by day. That is why I at least gave you my thoughts on what I experienced so far. I can tell you that they continue to be very quiet, and I am seeing better efficiencies for my conditions than I would have with the stock OEM set. For a range test, I would have had to run a specific leg and document the data, then re-run it with these new tires. All at the same weather, car load, battery SoC and other conditions. I work full time and sorry but don't have time to do this. So I give you my early thoughts about them, after having the stock OEM Primacy's on for 2 years. I can tell the difference. I am sure if you search the internet, you may find some range data to support Sailun's claims of 5-10% range increase. However, if they have a better rolling resistance, then one will get better range for sure.
How does noise compare with 20" Pirelli P-Zero that come standard on the M3P? These Sailun tires do not have sound deadening foam in them so I'm very curious how they compare in the real world.
Thanks for watching! I don't have the P0's, but my LR came with Michelin Privacy. Good tires and pretty nice for low noise. However, the Sailun are even quieter. They also feel more comfortable and to me, seems to roll easier with less effort. I have seen a 5% increase in my average daily ranges with these on. So I am still very stoked on them. Tomorrow getting my winters put on, so my Sailun's are going into storage for the season, and I will take a wear measurement reading to update the comments with. I expect them to be ok and last me 2 full seasons at least.
What about speed rating? Tesla's original 18“ are Y rated, Sailun seem to be W rated. As the rating is written in the car's license, it won't pass the annual check with these Sailuns. Is there a plan for a Y rated EV tires?

Tnx for your reply. I live in Israel, I never get anywhere close to the speed you mentioned. Technically W rating is way more than I need and more than my car is capable of (2021 M3 SR+). The only problem is that here the exact tire size and ratings are written in the car's license and are being checked as part of an annual safety check. The car was imported with the original Y rated tires hence replacements must be rated the same.
Thanks for watching! I don't believe Kal Tire is selling them. I just went to them to do my tire swap over and install the Sailuns which I got directly from Sailun. I use Kal Tire to do my seasonal swaps and store the set of tires they take off. I use the Brampton store, since that is the closest one to me. You can go on Sailun website to locate dealers: sailuntire.ca/en/plt/dealer-locator/ I found a few in the GTA already, like Fountain Tire, etc. Hope this helps.
Thanks for watching and appreciate the question. I've got experience with Sailun Winters on a non-Tesla, since I ran them on a couple of previous ICEVs with no issues. Handled well and lasted. Obviously wont be an X-ICE equivalent, but good. Maybe check out some Tesla forums for more info.
Thanks for watching! I can only provide my perspective with what I have found based on the 18-inch tires, not the 20's. However, I would suspect the experience with the Sailuns will be similar. I don't believe they use any foam. In my video I discuss their patented dry mix process which is different than most if not all of the other tire manufacturers. This process is what I believe contributes to low noise, great low-rolling resistance yet still offering great handling, wet/dry grip and good longevity.
Thanks for watching. I'll let you know, but initial stats indicate lower than what I had with the snows (of course). I only had about a week of driving (less as I was out of town for a few days), so I need to drive some more to see. Also, with the spring here and the weather gradually warming up, I should normally see better efficiencies so that may skew the data. They "feel" very good in that the roll very easily, that I can say.

Quick note. They are quite heavier then the oem continentals. 255/45R19 at roughly 29lbs. for the Sailuns.

Thanks for watching and I am not sure about the license/pass statement, as no one looks at tire ratings for safety inspections here in Canada. I can't speak for other countries.
Sailun has released a Treadwear rating of 600, a Traction rating of AA, and Temperature Rating of A. (600 AA) for the ERange Tires. My stock OEM size of 235/45R18 have a Speed Rating of 98W. W is for up to 270 km/h (168 m/h). It's been noted to me that certain Tesla's can have higher speed capabilities than what these tires are rated for.
The licensing comment aside, as one would need to confirm their local rules, I would say that if you plan on driving the AutoBahn, or no-speed limit roadways, then look for another tire that can handle the highest speed you will want to achieve in real life, presuming this is more than 270 km/h.
Otherwise, for the vast majority of us who do not have the luxury of no-speed roadways, I can live with tires that support up to 270 km/h (168 mi/h) speeds, as I will never ever go that fast. Not unless I want my car impounded, loose my license and go to jail.

Tnx for your reply. I live in Israel, I never get anywhere close to the speed you mentioned. Technically W rating is way more than I need and more than my car is capable of (2021 M3 SR+). The only problem is that here the exact tire size and ratings are written in the car's license and are being checked as part of an annual safety check. The car was imported with the original Y rated tires hence replacements must be rated the same.
What size and spec did you get?
I already replaced my M3DM Michelin, and will be looking in about 2 years.

Ken, which Kal Tire dealership is offering the Sailun tires? Are you aware of any other dealerships. Can't find anything on their "dealer finder"?
Thanks for watching! I don't believe Kal Tire is selling them. I just went to them to do my tire swap over and install the Sailuns which I got directly from Sailun. I use Kal Tire to do my seasonal swaps and store the set of tires they take off. I use the Brampton store, since that is the closest one to me.

I found a few in the GTA already, like Fountain Tire, etc. Hope this helps.

has anyone have experience with Sailun winter tyres on Tesla? I have Model Y RWD
Thanks for watching and appreciate the question. I've got experience with Sailun Winters on a non-Tesla, since I ran them on a couple of previous ICEVs with no issues. Handled well and lasted. Obviously wont be an X-ICE equivalent, but good. Maybe check out some Tesla forums for more info.

Thanks for watching! I can only provide my perspective with what I have found based on the 18-inch tires, not the 20's. However, I would suspect the experience with the Sailuns will be similar. I don't believe they use any foam. In my video I discuss their patented dry mix process which is different than most if not all of the other tire manufacturers. This process is what I believe contributes to low noise, great low-rolling resistance yet still offering great handling, wet/dry grip and good longevity.

How is the efficiency?
Thanks for watching. I'll let you know, but initial stats indicate lower than what I had with the snows (of course). I only had about a week of driving (less as I was out of town for a few days), so I need to drive some more to see. Also, with the spring here and the weather gradually warming up, I should normally see better efficiencies so that may skew the data. They "feel" very good in that the roll very easily, that I can say.
