Nice to see Bender still in the scene. He caught a lot of flak back in the day for being too extreme but out of that movement arose the scene that you see today and has influenced everything from slopestyle to UCI world cup racing.
I was living in Kamloops when Bender attempted the Jaw drop. I remember driving by it and thinking that no one could ever ride a bike off it. Then I saw the video. Bloody hell. Brings back a lot of memories from that time period. Rowdy action on Rose Hill, Harper Mountain and Sun Peaks. Same time the Drop In bus rolled through town. Pretty fun times.
@@BCpov it's on the road up to Harper Mountain, right outside Kamloops. Pretty nuts in person. I think he tried it 2 or 3 times, unsuccessful each time.
I actually ended up here because I was trying to find out if josh bender is still alive. That man is a legende. If you dont know him, you dont know freeride...
Bender is a Legend! I had the pleasure of meeting him once in Auburn. It felt good to be able to let him know how much he inspired me to advance my skill level. He humbly thanked me for my admiration…. It was good to see Dave Vasquez still ripping the trails. We rode Whistler together years ago. He’s a really great guy. You should stop by Victory Velo in Auburn some time to say hi or purchase some bike stuff. Awesome ride, wish I was there!
Oh my.. In my youth when I started mountain biking and this stuff I saw him in the videos.. Amazing guy. Now that I started again a few months ago I see him again. And nice video again eric 👍
We piggy back off moto trails in my hood too. Chipping in with trail work. We have a great relationship with those guys. We are their humble guests. They cut some of the trails up to 60 years ago. We can ride some of their stuff, fast, steep, deeep ruts, huge rocks, wet roots, drops, berms, just fun stuff. Some of it is to radical for me personally. Lots of up down, up down trails. To much hike a bike. Trials type stuff. Gotta pick you battles. The things I’ve seen those guys and girls clime on a dirt bike blows my mind every time.
Riding with the legend himself, that's pretty cool! It'd be pretty funny if he was out front warning about features on the trail, "oh just a little baby drop coming up...", And you immediately find a 25 foot drop round the next corner 🤘😆🤘
I’m 43, I’ve been riding since I was 12 and I’ve never wrecked. I would ride all those trails 30% slower. Bender is the Downhill G.O.A.T. I wouldn’t even try to keep up!
you can always tell when you're getting close to an access road on a trail because it is going to be so well built up, since there is easy access to bring in materials. there was an armoured section right as you come out onto the fire road that seems like an immense amount of work went into just moving the armouring up to the spot.

Somebody that knows that area should clean up/rename the trail names. I've never seen such boring and confusing names assigned to trails. Trail 1-4. Trail 4-1. Trail 1 from 1-3--9.
The man, the legend, the BENDER!
"Life's too short not to go big" Josh Bender
and big he went!

Eric, as always great job with the music selection for this video. Keep the great videos coming! Awesome riding.
Bender still exists?! I thought he had morphed entirely an urban legend/folk hereo. I mean he cant really be human right?
Look up thebendersender on Instagram.

@@peterscott4183 Fine by me. Ebikes don't bother me at all :)
@@clydesdalemountainbiking7393 I imagine his body is pretty fucked up from all his horrendous crashes.
Yup, he's doing well! Pretty rad to meet him!

What a great episode! Cool people, cool trails and some serious speed with good music 🤘

If Josh Bender produced his own Vlog or Patron, I would definitely pay to watch him sending down his local trails.
I’d pay to watch him doing literally anything
Maaaaan im glad to see Bender still sending it. Go big Josh!

Fully pinned! Riding with Bender, what a legend (and for once, that's not hyperbole). That was sick!
Absolute legend!
7:45 I think they have that on one of my local trails in SE Michigan.
So cool to see bender riding trails! He’s so badass
This was awesome! Loved the riding, the music..... everything.
I've seen Georgetown in a few other videos. The trails there look super fun and super fast.
Super fast! I think it felt faster in person than it did on video too!
Eric:*Rides around mud puddles*

🤬🤯🤬🤯🤯🤯😡
Even though we all do it
you should ride thru them...
@@cdabcdefg12345 but not on that kind of a trail they are just too big

Very flowy! I wonder how it works on a Moto!?
Lots of that brick at Mt. Bachelor bike park - holds all the sand in place.
I like it!
Rode these trails with my good friend Bender. Awesome big boy trails that Motos use.
Only ridden there on my dirt bike! Must be missing out
The Trail Peek bros are there all the time! You'd enjoy it I bet :)
Damn, dude. This run is way faster than all your previous downhill videos combined!
josh bender is my favourite rider

Moto trails are awesome. It’s funny how many people think trails need to be made for MTB. The hole point of MTB is to be able to ride any dirt trails
They certainly work well in Georgetown!
Dually noted. Expect to see motos on mtb trails near you
Mammoth mtn has a flow trail made entirely of those octagon bricks
I wanna ride that!
Josh bender the legand!
That was super flow man
I would have joined that ride just to get the oppurtunity to ride with a legend that is Josh Bender!
I think you can pretty much do that if you ride with cali expeditions!

The trails have names and were cut by motorcycles up to 50 years ago. They're only riding a tiny fraction of the trails that work as downhills
