I lost a remote. Can I turn on a TV without a remote

Hi John, maybe you know. Have an eclipse and on screen it prompts me to change the batteries, however they are brand new ( and I checked the charge). Do you think itsn eclips or remote fault? It only started this message a month or so ago

If it's a message on the TV screen it could mean your LG Magic Remote if that is out somewhere and in range of the TV. Do you or have you used the LG remote? -John

Looks solved. The small remote of the apple tv could have been the problem
