Holy crap! Immediately thought the same thing....Don't put that thing by the window that faces your kooky neighbors house.... especially in winter....*gutter ice hazard*
Yes! I think the unit in that film was a BeoCenter 9000, which was very similar to this one. I love how the chunk of ice literally impales the stereo and makes it explode lol.
That was the Beomaster 4500, Beogram 4500 and Beocord 4500. Nearly the the same stereo but seperate casette, cd and amplifier units. And i think the amplifier is different from the one in the Beocenter 9500.
When the tape deck opened on that Bang & Olufsen I was astonished. Then the lights came on like something out of daft punk music video. This unit is Freaking Amazing! Great score!
It's a beauty indeed. I purchased (new) the upright anniversary model in the early 90's as a birthday gift for my spouse and it was indeed fun just to see the CD mechanism work each time we used it. Although we still own it, we rarely use it, outside of listening to a random cassette tape from time to time.
I've owned a lot of Bang & Olufsen gear. There isn't really an "On" setting. You just pick the function you want, and it plays. It isn't really "Off" either, it's just in standby. It is always on, unless you unplug it from power.
I remember these being sold back in the mid-1980s, in a high class department store here in England (UK) where my mum worked. They looked so futuristic back then and they looked expensive.........and they were too!
Wow, you got an AWESOME piece of stereo equipment. Doesn't even look like it was ever used or very little at best. Congrats! God bless you & Vicky ❤ XOXO
You made a great deal. I bought the B&O 9000 (almost identical) in 1986 for $3600 USD. I played it every day until 2015 when I had to have it refurbished by the B&O factory techs. in Boston (where I live) and they restored it to new for $900 USD. They replaced the tape heads and all the tape moving parts, and the mechanical parts on the CD player. The doors wouldn't open or close and some of the LED lights and the bottom touch switches didn't work. I had to use the remote only to select tracks. I looked around and couldn't find ANYTHING comparable, so I fixed the unit. BTW it plays tapes randomly if you program it to. See the manual for instructions. Great find guys!
I believe the B&O stereo is from the early to mid 1990s. It looks similar to one my mom had in her house mounted on the wall. She had speakers throughout the house. The sound of that stereo was particularly good quality. If I ran across something like that, I would seriously keep it too, unless I had something equally nice. Great find! And yes! Making connections, meeting new friends and business associates is the best use of UA-cam! I like your show! It's much like shopping at salvage and thrift stores, without actually doing it. That mixer is incredible! The right person would pay a bundle for that! I love seeing the older electronics in great condition! That motorcycle helmet is kewl too! You trade in the most interesting things, and I love your accent! It reminds me of a family member who's gone, and who I miss dearly. He was from Hungary, and was also a businessman. Love your show & your shop! If i ever make it out your way, I'll have to stop by! Great to support smaller businesses! Prices are better too! The Fender Stratocaster is beautiful! I bought my son one when he was younger. They have great sound! How much do you want for it?
Dude! That digital piece looks just like the “stereo” that gets destroyed by the ice in the movie Christmas Vacation with Chevy Chase. That thing is a killer find!
They’re awesome, I’ve owned quite a few of them. A 8500, 9000, 9300 of them. They are futuristic. The beomaster 8000 is the McDaddy of them amplifiers with MS150 speakers. Keep an eye out for one of them.
I have a Tyros 5, picked it up for $2,000, what a sound system indeed. The customer was sentenced to 1 yr in jail for a 3rd DUI. He liquidated alot of possessions. I was happy to oblige
How thats an awsome piece of equipment! I picked up an older stype Beocenter that I just sold on ebay, but love the one you had with the CD and the electric sliding doors. Really cool, dont blame you for keeping it! Great video as always Pete
Great video Pete, The Bang & Olufsen Beocenter 9500 is a super cool piece of equipment, i had the 9500 a few years ago in my collection but sold it, i have the beocenter 2200 right now that still use and listen to records on all of the time. Very sweet find Pete. This is the kinds of stuff i love and live for. Great video
Enjoy your vacation, Adrien! :) Thanks for another fantasticly entertaining and educational video, Pete! :) 100,000 SUBSCRIBERS IS JUST AROUND THE CORNER!!! You should be remarkably proud.
Hi. I have a Beocenter 9500 and it's absolutely great. That's a really good find you came across and well worth keeping. It can use either conventional passive speakers or B&O (Beolab) active speakers. A classic piece of B&O hifi and an iconic design. The polished alu finish really sets it off but be aware these can scratch easily . Recommend you get a remote for it, either a Beo 4 or Beolink 1000, both easily available on EBay. Enjoy.
Awesome video Pete! That player looks really cool, you being the music and sound fan should for sure keep it! I picked up a super clean 1950s Germam radio that I keep going back and forth on if I want to sell or not, its such a cool and unique piece! In this business you end up coming across some really cool stuff. Keep the videos going, you bring so much knowledge and wisdom to this community, cant thank you enough! I will be stopping by your store once the weather is better for sure!
Yes, I have the exact same one from my great Uncle, who was born in 1919. The first was made in 1989 and it was 1600 pounds at the time, which is huge. It is INCREDIBLE
That was a great score for both of you. I work at a cabinet factory and that drum is what they keep the paint and stain in. I’m sure there are probably food grade uses for them too. Love watching your videos because you never know what you guys are going to come up with. 😉
That is one of the most epic pieces of high end vintage audio equipment that I have seen in a long while! And brand new...... one things is for sure, the jealously is definitely running thick and tasting salty over here Pete! Super kick ass score & 100% a keeper!!
I've worked for Konica Minolta for 17 yrs. You've got some toner, and older drums units. Customers get toner for free with service contract. May sell to someone that doesn't have contract. Drums are open...I would be suspicious of them. Love your channel!
Great video, I like that machine. It looks like a machine from the movie back to the future 😁 a film I watched when I was a little girl. Thanks for sharing
I'm pretty sure you can hang that B&O system on a wall for even more wow factor. Add bluetooth to it, and get some old school B&O speakers to go with it. I think some of them had a motion sensor so that if you waved over it you could bring the unit out of standby.... it's worth looking into.
nice! I got one of those Beocenters (including the remote) at a swap meet for $100 bucks a few years ago. unfortunately the tape side doesn't work, but CDs sound great!
More like straight outta National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation... If not that model it is very similar to the Griswold's neighbors that gets destroyed...
For those who get their hands on a Beocenter, if you think its beautiful in daylight, just wait til you see it on, with all the rubar red lights, when its dark in the room.
Heads up, an old video game system turbo grapx 16 used sells for about $150, but they're releasing a new unit in January for $99 new. If you have any sell them soon
Best get that hunk o' metal sold before Adrian gets back or he'll yell at you, Pete! LOL! That Beocenter is too cool for school! Looks like it was never used much. Fantastic find and great example of networking though I think that fella KNEW you'd keep it. LOL!
B&O Unit in Mystery Box, that’s what dreams are made of. You should keep it for your collection. Great Video, could I suggest a “What I sold on eBay in March for ##K” next. Cheers.
You like vintage, how about Saras 3-way Studio Towers ST200’s original cost $3K pair. Built by survivor of Polish camps, who worked with Kenwood and EPS?150W 3-ways.
Love that stereo. Reminds me of the one the neighbors had in Christmas Vacation.
CARRJAM 1981 I just posted that and I didn’t see that you mentioned it two days before me. Lol. Glad someone else noticed!

@@Pauldjreadman Yes, and all the movement seems very precise also
@@ThisIsTheRealMe2 I remember seeing one similar over here but that was years ago.
Pauldjreadman ...$1400-$1500 new...in 1993
Wow...you got Adrian excited and smiling....
What a stunning item that B&O player really is. Utterly gorgeous quality.
I cringed every time that blade got close to that vintage B&O beauty. What a find!
That’s the coolest stereo! I’d want to keep it too.

Thank you for all the information and sharing your finds, and life. It's fun to watch and learn.... community is important when building a business.
Toilet paper and a power washer? Sounds like the beginning of a great joke Pete LOL
is it Halloween yet?
If you need a power washer and that much toilet paper, it's no joke for sure.

What a great score! Agree about the value of putting yourself out there on UA-cam, very enriching in many ways.

Pete...thank you so much for your videos. I took much of your advice and became a better seller and picker. Awesome find there with the 9500 unit!!!
Love the segments on vintage electronics! But this one was great! Enjoy!
Dude! Bang & Olsen has always had some very stylish units. Wished my mom kept her CD player from back in the days.
that bang and olufsen was a nice pickup! someone is asking $1k for that unit alone on ebay, so picking up everything for $1k is a solid score!
asking price and what it sells for are 2 different things...I can put a pet rock on ebay and ask 1000 dollars doesn't mean I will get it..lol
Dadecounty Dale obviously 🙄
WHAT I SOLD ON EBAY ...they won't get a grand for it ....they are going for $600-$700 all day long....still a beautiful system...
In Denmark you can get get one for 300$
That is the coolest stereo i have ever seen .
That unit was probably 5k back in its day totally 80s state of the art

So far in the video I'm at 5:32 minutes and I must say PLEASE put that in your collection.
I hope to own a Beocenter 9500 someday. I currently have the 9000. It's prefect for the system I have, but eventually I want a set of Beolab 5's.

Great score on the B n O system Pete, greetings from the UK by the way...
That B&O is crazy. They made some interesting units back in the day.
I like Eric's work space. I"d like to find something like that here in NY

Old B&O stuff is sold for peanuts here in Denmark. Check out www.dba.dk (Danish version of Craigslist) for some great deals.

I've had a beo center the turntable and speakers are just as impressive.
Imagine if the middle popped up open and it played vinyls 😭😭😭

does the BO 9500 need speakers ? or are they integrated in the unit itself ?
If you're going to keep that B&O center for yourself, you need to get a B&O Beogram TX2 turntable. I think it would make a nice matching set.
this is in christms vction when the ice goes though the window.
Thanks again Pete till next time cheers 🍻
