Will The Original Black Sabbath Reunite?...What We Would Like To See Happen. Sabbath Sunday!

- There's been lots of talk in the press from Geezer, Ozzy and Tony about putting the original Black Sabbath back together. John and Darin discuss if they think it will happen and how we would like to see it done if it does.
I’d be just as happy, if not more, if the original four members just did a speaking tour just talking about their career.
Ozzy on a speaking tour lol he sings better than he talks and that's not saying much.
@@martymartin2894 The others could be his interpreters.
I would love that!
They could do a studio album, with some other producer than Rick and then do a speaking tour. I think they could still produce some fine music together in the studio but they'd struggle to tour it well
One more album with the original 4 please. 🙏
I agree with Darin, No Tour but an album with the original guys no outside writers or producers. Sadly John is correct with managers and lawyers will get in the way.
I would love a one last album, 8 killer tracks with the original guys and Tony producing! I mean the Forbidden Remix and the remastering of Martin era sounds amazing!
The only problem is you still need an album label to put that out
That means lawyers to draw up a contract for a record deal it's just hard to do nowadays
Thanks guys great discussion
You're welcome
I agree that live performances aren't necessary. I'd love to hear a studio album. 13 is not one of the stronger Sabbath records. It would be great to hear something less forced and more inspired.
I saw ozzy and geezer and tony in studio just jamming and it was great. Get BillWard behind the kit and you have got something special
agree
I agree that a new album or some new recording with the O4 would be awesome!
The idea is good but it actually wouldn't, because there would be ghost writers or ai and all sorts of falseness on Ozzie's voice because he's no longer able to sing.
@@martymartin2894 Respectfully, I disagree. And it's Ozzy.
I don't even know if they can do an album it is taking Tony Iommi 8 years to finally get around to recording a solo album
A new album with the original Black Sabbath produced by Rodger Bain would be awesome.
Great idea!
@@zubrycky well that won't happen Rodger Payne is 80 years old
Fun discussion. I'm w/Darin: collaborate, produce, don't tour.
John: apologies for going off topic but ... listening to Opeth's Devils Orchard today, i thought "what are the great, long riffs?"
I'll check out that Opeth song.
All these other people should just piss off. The fact that Rubin may have approached it like this, really rubs me the wrong way. It’s criminal to interfere with the phenomenon that is Black Sabbath.
Unfortunately once money gets involved that ruins everything.
I'd love a final album, they're still capable right now of coming up with something good. As for a tour, I'd like to see Tony Martin singing since Ozzy most probably can't do a full set night after night at this point.
Neither can Bill Ward and Tony doesn't want to leave England and I don't think Geezer Butler wants to do that full-time
Yeah 13 was a bit disappionting although I did enjoy it at the time. Now I rarely even think of it. Would LOVE to hear some new music from them--just one more time please! Even just an EP, I totally agree!
No tour necessary. Not even a one off show. Maybe a video or minidocumentary, but the time for live shows has long past.
Been listening to them since I was a kid in the 70's, sure going to miss them.
I'm the same way with 13
A few days ago Ozzy cancelled an appearance at a moster movie convention that's happenning this month in Arizona. Doctor's orders they said. He's not able to travel. Ozzy may be in a worse condition than what we know. I wonder if he could still sing.
It would be awesome if they reunited for a little something. Even one or 2 songs, but I fear about Ozzy's health and Bill's for that matter....
Thanks guys. I totally agree I saw them in the late 90's with Bill and it was amazing. I went to the final tour here in Toronto and I was a little disappointed, the band was great but Ozzy struggled on vocals. An album with the four members would be great for sure.
Thanks
Just forget about tours ... There are huge health issues with 3 of them at least ( especially Bill , which is one reasons he was totally shafted by them in the first place ) ... If they regroup and play together then maybe some live streamed events could be interesting ( this maybe also relevant for Iommi related projects with Glenn Hughes / Tony Martin / Ian Gillan plus respective line ups ) ?! ... Bill's drumming from the first album through to Never Say Die is nothing short of phenomenal . I saw them live at Newcastle City Hall ( UK ) in 1978 , definitely one of the best gigs I ever attended . Bill was also largely prominent in the band's mid to late 70's self management phase ( after being almost bankrupted by former managers and legal firms ) which is why the treatment he has received in recent years is in my view is so particularly heinous . He's also a great artist / singer in his own right who's albums are terrific .
Awesome you saw them in 78
When Johnny Cash covered NINs Hurt he didn't try to hide his age he leaned into it, even made a video for it and people absolutely loved it. I guess it turns out that some people think old people still have value beyond their peak years. We live in a society that chronically tries to hide its flaws because its flaws are always being splattered across the internet. Well old is not a fucking flaw, its a fucking fact of life that we all gotta get solid with IF we're lucky enough to make it that far, imho. So it seems to me that it behooves us to be kind to old people and that we should encourage them to make more art and we should not bitch and complain over our selfish wants but be grateful for whatever we get.
Age won't prohibit making music but unfortunately it will prohibit Ozzy from physical activity, especially something as strenuous as live performances.
Believe me, at 55 yrs old, I have plenty of respect for the elderly :)
Agree, personally I don't think playing live would suit them but doing a song or 2 in the studio could be great under the right circumstances.
It would be cool for them to make some songs that maybe reflect on their years together.
I didn’t get to see them live and I would love to but if not a proper last album with all 4 original members would the the best
I think Bill said he just can't play the drums well enough to power Black Sabbath in a tour but he can still play the drums well enough to do a song or two
I agree
I think Bill said he just can't play the drums well enough to power Black Sabbath in a tour but he can still play the drums well enough to do a song or two
I'm guessing that is the case
Whenever I watch Sabbath Sunday it's like Darin is at Black Sabbath headquarters and is the font of knowledge for all things Sabbath. Great show guys. I think perhaps an EP and maybe a promotional gig with old and new songs like the Stones did with Hackney Diamonds .
Darin's great.
Aw shucks...
Thank you ❤
An album would be the best thing they could do it at their own pace they could produce it themselves and come out with a much better album
I Agree
Sounds great but they would still need a label to put that out that means a record label lawyers to draw up a contract and then the album would come out
We’ve seen some amazing Sabbath drummers including Cozy himself, but Sabbath is best with Bill Ward.
Agreed
A final album of the original 4 would be AWESOME. The 2 Ozzy/ Iommi songs on Ozzy's last album are very good...they can do it, and even better with Geezer and Bill.
We need a proper closure.
Cheers.
Agreed
Would like to see the band do another album and a few shows with Bill and with a singer who can actually sing. That doesn't include Ozzy at this stage, he was flat on every song back on the 2016 tour. Maybe Mike Patton? Is Axel Rose a Sabbath fan? (lol) You know its Ozzy and Sharons fault Bill wasn't on 13.
Ozzy struggles live, that's for sure.
Problem is is you will need a record label if you want to put the album out
I don't think they would have a problem finding one.
Tony Martin tour would be mind blowing.
I would rather see Tony Iommi Geezer Vinny and Phil Anselmo and make an album
I would love that...call the band Headless Cross.
They would call that band Heaven and Hell
@@LairoftheAlchemist they could call the band Heaven and Hell
@@mikekeeler6362 They already did...
Bill put out a short video a couple of months ago with 3 guys that work with him in the studio
I missed that.
@@LairoftheAlchemist I don't think it's on UA-cam, might have been Facebook
@@LairoftheAlchemist It was Jan 1 on his IG
Just release some recorded music. How about a studio version of the song Scary Dreams.
That would be cool.
They're not going to do any shows in the US
Probably not
The only problem with the reunion is Bill once more than one show he wants to do like 20 shows
I guess we'll see
20 years from now the members of Sabbath would be in their mid-90s and I know I won't be here 20 years from now
That's why they need to get it going now
Too little too late Ozzy, Sharon must want more money. They should have brought him back for 13 and let him play a couple of songs or whatever he was able along side Tommy clefetos who done a great job in my opinion.
True
Ozzy is still in LA and even had to cancel a recent appearance
Think he owns a place in LA and England.
We don't need it. I would love a Iommi and Tony Martin tour though.
Tony can't tour though he said he would not leave England
I was about to post the same thing. I would be far more interested in a Sabbath tour with a Tony Martin - Tony Iommi lineup performing the Martin material and even Ozzy/Dio material as we know Tony Martin can do it justice.
I can’t imagine Ozzy getting through a significant gig nowadays, never mind a tour. Bill Ward has had health problems for decades as well, I just can’t see it and I would not want it.
I don’t think we need it. Leave as it is. I’ve never seen Bill live, but it’s too late for that. The time was the last reunion, and that’s on them for not making it happen.
I just posted the same thing it's a disgrace the way they didn't include him last time.
I would agree on the live front, but I wish they had finished with an album stronger than 13
To be honest Ozzy is not in good health to perform any longer . He has a form of parkinsons , and you can hear even when he speaks his voice is different . Tony should tour with Glenn Hughes , Sharon stopped them from touring Fused in 2005 . and both Tony and Glenn wanted to play live .
Tony said he can't tour and he's not going to leave England
Iommi solo album, please.
I'm looking forward to it.
Ozzy will be 76 December 3rd
I actually thought he was older than that.
Play MSG 3 nights
Not sure they could physically pull that off anymore.
I have never seen Ozzy . Would be awesome, but I know, at this point, believing in Ozzy is like believing in Biden. Eddie Trunk is a poser. He never heard of Fates Warning. 😅
Hahahaha
I remember Eddie Trunk once saying that he only owned a greatest hits album for the Ozzy years.
Tony still has cancer he still gets treatments the cancer does not go away you have to treat it
That would make it hard for him to do any kind of touring.
He could do a small tour in England and that would be about it
Ozzy is way past his prime. Iommi still has it I believe but Ozzy does not. 13 I felt wasn’t that good. A new release would probably be worse.
I think Ozzy could pull it off in the studio, live is a different story
I just wish they would forget about it and that Tony Iommi makes a couple of solo albums all that other stuff is just old
I'd be good with that.
I would rather see Sabbath get back with Tony Martin instead. Ozzy is done.
There won't be another Black Sabbath album unless it's at least three of the four Originals so anything with Tony Martin would have to be a different name
I would like that also...call the band Headless Cross.
@@mikekeeler6362yes just like with dio because Sharon owns the name.
@@LairoftheAlchemist Ozzy and Tony on 50% of the name 50% for Ozzy and 50% for Tony
why u cut ya hair off???
Must be on a ponytail, or under his cap.
He hasn’t, I think its tied back under his cap.
It's in a ponytail, it's hot here in Florida so I have my hair up a lot in the summer.
@@LairoftheAlchemist Cool. Your hair is too cool to cut lol
They are too old. But Iommi and Geezer are semi healthy but no live performances
I agree
