- Sledge Hammer is a one-of-a-kind Huss Jump 2 at Canada's Wonderland. This massive flat ride features six arms that bounce riders up and down like a drop tower. But is it as crazy as it looks?

I was mesmerized when I saw it running, and knew I had to ride it. It may not be the most intense ride, but that's not really what this one is about. I loved it and wish I rode it more. It's my favorite flat ride at the park. I don't know if it's my favorite flat ride of all, but it's one of the more memorable ones.
I prefer Shockwave, but this is more unique.
Great video 📹👍I was just at wonderland today 😀first time there since 2011 and I was there the full day since opening.
Nice!
I have seen this strange ride for the first time in Rollercoaster Tycoon 3 - now it is on my flatride bucketlist!
But I have a soft spot for rare or unusual rides :)
Me too.
Canada’s Wonderland has an awesome flat ride collection.
One of the best.
one of the coolest looking rides that's for sure
Agreed!
Wasn't working last summer. I want to ride it. Yes, it's pretty crazy. There are no others around. Sledgehammer is one of a kind. Hope you are enjoying your time at our Canadian park.
So unique.
After years of ignoring the flat rides, I returned to them in 2018 when at the park by myself to see if a chance i could handle them again. Now I go on all over them, with a couple of Gravol before getting to the park, to be safe. Was nice to add lots of "new" rides to the selection. I'll go on Sledge Hammer when the queue is short, I'll risk longer waits as reliability increases.
Favourite is Shockwave, 1-2 rides/visit, and last weekend got serious airtime a few times in an inner seat. Now I favour Lumberjack over Psyclone (cycle needs 2 more swings), for the inverted hanging. And, I always end the day on Spinovator on the way to the gate.
Shockwave and Drop Tower are my two favorite flats there.
When I saw this review I thought of one thing, 🎼 ‘I wanna be…your sledgehammer’. Classic Peter Gabriel
Don't know that one.

First time I rode this is 2019 I was EVAC'ed after it failed after the first time we were swung up. As it came down, it stopped just down from the top.
Interesting experience to say the least :)
Ride Op's were amazing.
Ridden many times after and still one of my fave flats at Wonderland.
Wow that's an interesting experience.
JJF when it was at SFGA is one of my more treasured flatride credits.
Nice!
When I was at Canada Wonderland in late September/early October 2021 some English guy implored me tor ride it telling me it was usually down and that because of that I ought to ride it it I have the chance, so I did. I'm glad I did. ;)
I hope it stays, but it seems like the type of ride Cedar Fair has been removing.
I always thought it was visually stunning. From an engineering/ maintenance stand point, I see it as a nightmare. HUSS comes up with some interesting rides.
Sure do!
This is my current favourite flat ride at the park but of all time I actually prefered the round up and even more so the Intamin looping starship.
Also, I love that you’re in my neck of the woods, it’s giving me inspiration to visit Niagara and Centre Island.
I prefer Drop Tower and Shockwave.
@@CanobieCoaster you’re right on but I never go to the park by myself so I put Sledgehammer ahead of those two only because it’s easier to get people to ride with me. Shockwave is the hardest, so I’ve only actually been on it a handful of times but damn, it brings the intensity!
Best ride ever for a non rollercoaster type..if you take shoes off at start ..you come back to exact same starting point
It's a fun flat.
The fact of this ride is about to be 20 years old and the park is still keeping this thing operational while it's a maintenance nightmare is sort of mind boggling.
Cough cough Top thrill dragster cough cough.
This ride has a perfect safety record at least.
I like sledgehammer it's really cool and when you go up you either face the sky or face the ground just like on soaring timbers and psyclone
Yes it is.
Hey canobie coaster you know sledgehammer is my favorite flat ride at Canada's Wonderland it's awesome I like the way it goes up and then it blasts you down it's a very cool feeling
It's so unique.
@@CanobieCoaster yeah it's a very fun ride
I never ridden this, it looks fun, definitely doesn't look the most intense but it's a cool credit I would get but I probably wouldn't get more than 1 ride if this was at a pay per attraction park.
It's unique for sure.
This is a flat ride I think I would really enjoy.
Same!
Keep reviewing flat rides
Oh yeah - they are often overlooked by many coaster enthusiasts, but I'm also very intested in them :)
I plan to.
You should do a power tower at cedar point review
Don't plan to since it's a fairly standard drop tower.
It seems like every flat ride has bulky OTSR’s. Are there any exceptions to that?
A giant Intamin frisbee or It.
@@CanobieCoaster intamin frisebee?
How did you know to go when this ride was open?
I think you’ve gone to this park before because of an older video but was it open then?
I've never had it closed all-day personally.
Huss make some of the most interesting yet unreliable rides known to mankind. I think the only consistently reliable ride they have ever designed is the breakdance.
Sure do!
What do you think about the unreliability of Sledge Hammer at Canada's Wonderland and Alpine Bobsled at Great Escape?
Both can operate sporadically, but Alpine Bobsled is worse.
I love sledgehammer it's really fun and much better than drop tower in my opinion because drop tower is kinda scary
I prefer Drop Tower.
Canobie coaster you're probably not gonna believe me but sledgehammer is just like drop n hop from fantasy fair cause on drop n hop you get weak floater airtime and a stomach dropping sensation just like on sledgehammer
It does have a drop sensation like drop towers.
@@CanobieCoaster Yeah it does
This ride does look fun to me!
It is.
Thanks for posting.
You're welcome!
This world needs a Yukon Striker review.
Soon
I usually find this open for part of my day but at least one vehicle/claw/whatever they're called is closed. I don't really know why but the lines still aren't bad at all, even with the one or two claws closed.
That's true.
I went to wonderland for the first time and one of my biggest regrets is not doing this ride
Oh no!
@@CanobieCoaster I cant complain too much tho, i went for one day with no fast pass and got 15 rides in
ooo
Unique
imagine this as a flyer
Wow!
At least this ride still exists on Planet Coaster and rct3
True!
